This program is going to be failure because of poor planning and worst judges. Unnecessary arguments will spoil the spirit of this show.

i also agree with you ravi….lalit and aadesh are eating the show and are worst judges….and if jatin is the neutral judge then why is he supporting them all the time ? in my opinion alka and abhijeet are the true judges….the show will lose its popularity if the agni team judges go on like this…

I agree with you Ravi. These two judges spoiling the show. Hope they view these comments and see how people are thinking about them and stop all the nonsense. I think their favorites are Harshit and sumitra. They encourage Harshit for coying kishore kumar or kumarsanu and these two people voted Aravind for the same. I think Aravind’s voice is much better than the rest. Irfan, Abhas, Joshi are the best. In girls priyani got a good voice

This show is full of talented competitors but with worst judges like Adesh and lalit. I like all 12 candidates all are good in some aspects ,not like crap in some other reality show , but problem here is with the transparent judgment.
Abhijet may behave sometimes rude but the way he praise agni candidates quite clear he is not doing any partiality but Adesh and lalit they make some strategy ,the way lalit ask for vote for their own candidates.
Mr Singh please make sound enviornment of judging.

Aadesh and Lalit are nutjobs. Simply having petty arguments every time. Not that either of them have done anything in their career

Fellow friends, We should understand that we are in a talent hunt for VOI, so we should support a voice which is different to the current singers, the singers we have the likes of Sanu, Abhijeet, Udit, Kunal, and Alka Yagnik etc. and they are doing excellent job. we don`t need copies to the current singers, we need something different, a new and a fresh voice, Bare in mind, the whole world is watching us, and we have to show them how different variant of talents we have in our musical world. I would suggest Abhas, Toshi, Irfan Ashpreet has a tremoundous quality of voice and highly talented and god gifted,

We should throw this partial judges out of the scene, before its too late.

I don`t understand why Abhilasha gets 9 points for singing nothing, she had missed a antra second time, and I think this is a trick to get public sympathy, and judges given 9 points to please Bhatt`s family, might have intention to get some jobs in their new projects. this is such a high profile contest, and have unprofessional and partial judges.
Gajju should look into this matter.

Again, I suggest the judges should not be allowed to give points…only comments. The points unnecessarily sway audience votes to the wrong people.

As for Harshit lovers….please pay attention to his diction in the next show. I am stunned you haven’t noticed a very obvious lisp. In “tu mile dil khile” song from Criminal… note the line “na ho tu oodas tere pas pas main rahoonga zindagi bhar” My colleagues and I have been imitating his “na ho tu OODATH, tere PATH, PATH” ever since. hahahaha Again, he needs to work on his diction as do Abhaas and Ashpreet. Sometimes having a nice voice is not enough…you need diction, quality, throw, stage appeal, and a good knowlegde of “sangeet.” Toshi and Irfan are the only two that fall in that category. Please vote…we can make a difference.

Abhilasha was given 9 points,to save face. Also done so that she doesnt get any sympathy votes .Clever move by agni!

I do agree with my freind`s comments, you have to have correct diction specially when you in such a big level singing competetion, you have to bare in mind this is not a stage singing competetion.
PANDIT AND ADESH MUST LEAVE THE PANEL OF JUDGES, THEY ARE NOT FAIR
By Ashwini on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
Sumitra has sung both songs so well this time. Both the “Paheli hai yeh Zindagani” song and the “Dhoka Dhoka” song, she has done very good justice.
Very clever move Sumitra! Not many people are going to realize this. But I cannot believe on such a big platform, such cheap tactics have been played over and over and over.
Sumitra has done it again, or maybe I should say Jatin and Aadesh have acted very smart again. They know her weaknesses just like most of us here do. They are choosing all safe songs, like “Paheli hai yeh zindagani” and “Dhoka”.
Sonu Nigam said, he was glad that she did not add “gayaki” into the song to make it too classical or to show off her singing abilities. Little does he know that she would never make that mistake, coz she is not capable of doing those things.
Cummon Sumitra, is that the best you can come up with? Singing an Alisha song? and singing Paheli?
Anyway, smart move I should say. But as far as the song goes, you have sung them very well. Your voice suits such songs but I was expecting some songs that had modulations to prove your singing abilities. I hope to see something o that sort in the coming week.
If you again sing a safe song, it would be very obvious you are incapable of singing semi classical type songs and that such songs are too much for you.
Let’s hope you accept the challenge and prove me wrong.
By Vishal Pandya on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
In fact Sumitra’s song selection is excellent and we all are watching that she gets votes regularly as she sings well …consistently even..
She is a great singer having potential to become VOI.
Not only Maharashtra voting for her..but her many fans through out India are voting for her consistent performance.
By Ashwini on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
Well if she is getting votes good for her. Believe it or not I have nothing against her personally. But she should try other type of songs too, not just chillu pillu songs.
Look at Priyani, she is always up for taking great risks. She sang “nanna re nanna re” which is soo difficult in itself and she sang it in one take on the stage. That’s what I appreciate in a singer, the ability and the zeal to show that Yes! I can do it.
Whereas, Sumitra just wants to play safe and stay in the show as long as possible without showing any improvement on her weaknesses and covering them up. I don’t want to argue on votes. We saw it last year in indian idol 2 also, getting votes does not necessarily mean he or she is a good singer. In spite of all the mind blowing singing and performances Karunya or Amey could not win the contest. So, let’s not discuss about votes, it does not mean anything.
By Ashwini on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
Anyway, I think I am giving Sumitra too much importance, more than what she deserves.
I want to comment on Abhas now. He is really a wonder child. He sang all the minor “harkat”s of “Lamha Lamha” with such ease and finese I was stunned. There’s so much one can learn from this kid. I was just spell bound. In fact if you want to talk about consistency, Abhas is the epitome of consistency. I remember replaying his songs “Hai Duniya Usiki Song”, “Dil Tera Deewana hai Sanam”, “Le Gayi Mera Dil Teri Zulmi Nazariya”, “Jane Kya Chahe Man”, “Mitwa” “Haseena Man Jayegi”, Kya bolu yaar. Kamal hai yeh ladka!

Actually it is safe for the Pandit family Aadesh is brother-in-law of Jatin and lalit so they have teamed very well.Abhijeet does a great job with his team.Sad Prithvi has some dumb singer like Abhilasha she should be out for her silly absent mindedness.Anyway Gajjuji you are not doing a great job as you did with Sa Re Ga Ma. Vote for Priyani and Abhaas.
By Sriram on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
Gajji I have a suggestion. I know you cannot do anything now as the show is already in it’s full fledge go. But there is something we all can learn from this now.
The suggestion is:
How about rotating the judges every week between the participants. One week with one set of judges, next week with the other set.
The advantages of this idea:
1. The judges will not get too personal with their student so as to favor one for another only because they are their students. They will be more fair because it will not matter what team they belong to anymore.
2. Each week will be spent on perfecting two songs to their level best rather than playing games and gimmicks.
3. All the participants will have a fair share of learning from all the judges or at least most of the judges even if they lose in the very beginning. I believe there is lot’s to learn from each and every judge as they have spent so many years in real time music.
Disadvantages if at all:
1. There won’t be much connection left between the student and the teacher as they will be rotating every week. The teacher will be just as a consultant doing his job of guiding the student with not much personal commitment involved. But we have seen what has been happening if we allow that connection to happen with cheap mentors like Aadesh and Lalit. They tend to taking this mentor idea way too seriously and start playing unfair games. Like for instance criticizing the opposite team members too much and not saying a single word when their own singers sing badly.
Thus all in all I see only advantages in this idea.

WHAT????
Aadesh is married to Vijayeta Pandit who is the younger sister of Jatin Lalit.Aadesh was Tabalchi for them and he ran away with their sister and they were not in good terms now the family has teamed up together and putting Abhijeet and Alka dowm.Actually Gajju u are very partial to have 2 music directors together and 2
singers together; they should have had i misic director with a singer that way it would have been balanced support to the singers.Gajjubhai u indeed didnot do a great job!Low TRP.

To be frank my dear Indians, I think Adesh is a making us look like stupid and he wants our votes to go to Harshit, he said Irfan is not a good singer, Adesh is so stupid that he does not know Harshit have chosen simple songs there is no classical touch the songs he is singing. ADESH IS DOING PARTIALITY, Toshi, Irfan, and Abhas are the best singers who can sing in films, they have talent and their own style, this Vishesh films also noticed. I think everybody should VOTE TO TOSHI for his great performace and efforts.

Ashwini, I agree with you, we are all giving too much importance to a club singer voice like Sumitra, but having said that, based on my experience in this industry, something tells me she could go far in the manipulative industry that our music industry is, she surely knows how to pamper egos ( and we all know what I am referring to)! Moving on, I think the singers who have it in them are Toshi,Abhas Irfan, Priyani and Arshpreet.I am quite taken aback that Toshi came close to being thrown out, just shows what sms can do…

i think of all the guys irfan, toshi & abhas are the best and out of all the girls abhilasha is the best…yes its true that abhilasha forgot some of the lyrics but you have to admit that her voice is fantastic…..just imagine if she could have completed that song (ghoongat ki aad se ) she would have got a fantastic response from the guests judges…they were enjoying her singing so much…
adesh and lalit are really putting both abhilasha & irfan down by making stupid comments….come on people lets vote for the best voices so that people like toshi, irfan & abhilasha dont fall into the chakravat….
By Anonymous on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
i agree with the comment above. abhilasha is one of da best singers and some of the guest judges have also said that she has the best chance of becoming a great playback singer.
By Romesh on Aug 20, 2007 | Reply
I think the comments above are absolutely correct and most of the bloggers here really understand what music is.. I wish to see Toshi and Abhas in the finals..
Here are some 1 liners about the contestants:
1. Sumitra : Intelligent song selector.
2. Priyani : As Alka Ji said she doesn’t have consistancy and a playback voice.
3. Toshi : Voice of India.. Amazingly Brilliant.
4. Ishmeet : Simple voice and tries hard.
5. Arshpreet: Velvet Voice. Songs of Jaspinder Narula can fetch her more votes.
6. Irfan : Now this guy is improving his performance every week. Good going Irfan.
7. Harshit : Only problem with him is the word ‘SA’. Inki hawa nikal jati hai and it sounds like “TSA”.
Otherwise he has an awesome voice and has the caliber to be the Voice of India.
8. Abhilasha : BEST Female Voice of the show. She will sing in films for sure.
9. Mirande : She has got a tight grip on sur, but consistancy is whats missing.
10. Abhas : Voice of India.. Amazingly Brilliant + Its an absolute pleasure to watch this kid. Amazing feel he has for the songs he sing. Should sing some Mohd Rafi songs for more votes..

Good point Anubhav and Anon, no more talks about Sumitra, she doesn’t deserve it.
I totally agree with Romi’s observation.
I really felt bad when they did not allow Abhilasha to complete the song. If she had been in Lalit and Aadesh’s team , things would have been a lot different for the exact incident. Aadesh commented on Irfan saying “uski classical tayyari nahi hai yaar” in spite of singing so well in so many performances. And what about the girl in his team that sings flat. “Uski classical tayyari ke bare mein kya khayal hai AadeshJEE???” Oops, I thought I was never gonna mention her again, but all this bullcrap just boils my blood.
Anyway, among girls Abhilasha and Arshpreet are my favorites and I like Priyani for her efforts and hard work.
Among guys of course Toshi, Abhas and then Harshit, and Irfan is getting better by the day.
Thanks,
Ashwini

Alka and Abhijeer are the Best Judges
By Harihar Shastri on Aug 21, 2007 | Reply
This show is a result of our times, where quick fixes overtake talent, where what you “see” in music rates higher than what you “hear”. Even the great Lataji would have been shown the door in a show like this, because she does what a professional singer should do, go there, stand and sing from your heart and she cannot “perform”, she cant say things like”mein aap hi ke liye gaa rahi hoon” to an ageing star!
But then like i said, these are the signs of our times.
As for the judges, like I have said elsewhere, the less said about them the better. By the way, does anybody know if the SMSs that each contestant gets is audited and tracked by any independent body? Or is that Gajendra Singh and co from Star and the judges sit down and figure out who is in and who is out , and damn what the public thinks?
I do hope at the end of all this, we do get a couple of singers who can make life beautiful for us and not just some dummy that the judges foist upon us and the publicity guys and the channel gives it such a spin in trying to make us believe that what we have got is the “real” thing.
P.S:The guys who laugh all the way to the bank are the channels and the mobile companies!!

Harihar Shastri, you are right mate. you know onething, this contest is fake and the competetion is going to be between
“Main aap ke liye ga rahi hoon” and Har Shit, which is why they are trying to throw out potentially winners like Toshi, Irfan, Pryani etc. they manipulating our costly votes. I must say that the authority concerned should order an enquiry into this whole episode. I suspect all the votes for Toshi was transferred to Harshit, and with a guilty consious of doing so, Tabilchi presented braclet to Harshit, we are not fools mate.

if you take the SRGMP show all the judges treat the contestants equally even though they are put into seperate groups of judges. for e.g when Raja Hasan sang the qawwali bappi da went himself to the stage and gave a hug to Raja.
i think agni judges should treat all the contestants equally without any bias. if not the show will lose its popuilarity.

I think Adesh is just a big bully, who does not have any work. In his previous avatar as a Judge – he had Hemachandra and Himani as his shishya and despite their best efforts and talent they have not been able to do anything so far. So his commitment and guidance is suspect, at the same time he seems to lack the maturity to be a judge. He seems to start dancing the moment Agni contestants are singing and goes into a shell as soon as its Prithvi’s turn…
What he did with Irfan and Abhilasha was distasteful and childish. On the other hand Abhijeet and Alka seem to be more mature and were asking for an opportunity in Vishesh for Abhaas.
Gajji needs to try and make sure that we see the last of Adesh in these shows, so that the viewers continue to enjoy and patronise these shows.

coming to Harshit did he ever try a difficult song to prove his versatility.
Look at Toshi, Irfan, Abhas, Priyani?????
Ha Sumitra and Harshit for sure are going to rock as they got the support of our honorable judges Adesh and Lalith .
Sorry Sumitra and Harshit I dont have anything aganist you. You both are good singers. other wise you wont stand in top 12. But I am comparing to the other singers who are in competition and the way how your mentors are intimidating other participants including Toshi though he is in Agni team.
Finally Toshi your bad luck you are in the wrong team. If you are in the prithvi team you might be VOI.

As is usual in our great country, we do tend to get very emotional about things and tend to lose objectivity. I have read through all the very interesting comments and seen attempts to paint folks like Ashwini and myself with tar simply because we wish to express an opinion that is harsh. If there is fan out there of Sumitra that feels hurt that is regrettable but let me put things in perspective:
- This is supposed to be a “reality TV contest” that seeks to promote music and search for an original talent;remember the “suron ke saath samjhauta nahi” dialog, sounds great on a TV promo, but try living up to it on a TV show where TRPs matter! Anyways,Therefore the assumption here is that a)this is a level playing field for all participants, therefore there will be fairness and transparency in the way votes are collected, audited, tallyed and displayed. IS THIS CURRENTLY HAPPENING ? b)The judges at this stage are mentors and ALL the judges have a SINGLE agenda, i.e find the best ONE, no partisanship and no cheap gimmickry and intimidation,IS THIS CURRENTLY HAPPENING? c)The best VOICE and SINGING TALENT gets chosen, NOT the best performer or good looker or the person who can flatter the judges and show guest judges the most and here singing talent means, that the singer has a range, is versatile and can connect to the soul of the listener. Some of you have said of a particular singer that she is smart since she has chosen songs that suit her, agreed, but would that demonstrate range and talent?Should not each contestant demonstrate capability across the musical spectrum and then should not the public decide who is strong on what? IS THIS CURRENTLY HAPPENING?
So, all those dear people who are going beserk indicating that we have a bias for or against a particular singer, please do realize that we just dont care if it is individual A or B, what we do care is
that a)we , the paying public DO NOT get taken for a ride by the TV channel, the producers , the cell phone companies and the judges and b)we get genuinely good talent. So as I have said elsewhere, the day a singer demonstrates that he/she can sing, we will be the first to applaud.
Unfortunately music is such an emotion that each of us is an expert and perhaps that is how it should be, but dear public, LISTEN, don’t SEE the singers. If you wish to SEE , go to Indian Idol.
Happy Listening.

daer harihar shastri,
do not mention any thing about indian idol.they promote only love birds.that is the worst programme.do you remember jagjitji telling in one programme, that STAR VOICE OF INDIA HAS COMPARETIVELY THE BEST SINGERS.and anoyher thing is u and aswini r the only one contributing ugly language on good singers.I THINK U SHOULD TAKE TRAINING FROM TABLAJI

With all of the show’s shortcomings, the fact remains that there is huge talent on display. Kudos all of you performers. The lack is all at the professional level of the producer, the anchor, the judges. The performances are simply brilliant. Despite all odds. Imagine, the original songs are sung by the likes of Ashaji, Lataji and composed with the specific purpose of suiting their voice, range, scale etc. These new budding talents are asked to sing on one day Ashaji’s song , on another Lataji,s, an Adnan here and a Kavita/Alka there or a Sunidhi/Shreya/Usha Uthup. Its a tall order. There is an unwritten rule that “nakkal mein akkal nahin”. These young artists are further required to copy while sounding original. Not only that, but they have to make sense out of contradictory statements made by the judges. Like one day they will “say you must put your style in the song”, another day they will say “you have not sung like the original”.
The audience is also confused. The reason is very simple. The more the controversies, the more the smss. When money talks bullshit walks. The least that they can do is to compose fresh songs for each singer. It will do full justice to the talent. Not that the controversies will cease or diminish. Then people might start arguing as to why one was given a better composition than another etc etc. So the controversies will still rage and the smss will keep flowing. At least there will be some justice done to the voices, one of which is going to be the voice of India!!!!

Composing songs for the singers does seem like a good idea to bring out the their originality.. Gaj n team had tried it out in the erstwhile Saregama with Annuj Kappoo, Anand Sharma composing tracks for the then contestants- Parthiv, Mukund, Bela, Sudeshna etc.. which was later sold as an album too. Unfortunately , the good singers of that time have vanished into oblivion except for a select few who made it as anchors in music shows on regional television..
How i wud love to hear more from each of VOI’s contestants.. not just 1 well rehearsed modern song per episode but different genres like non filmi (bhajan/ ghazal/folk/ regional songs) as used to be in the format of Saregama during its initial days.. and other rounds like sur/ taal/ judges choice, classical-semi classical.. would be easy to choose the true Voice of India

What if Sri Ravindra Jain ji were invited as a guest judge on SVOI? Would be an eye opener for many of us (including some of the Panch parmeshwar on the dais) who have been ‘blinded by “performances” ‘ in this talent hunt where we seem to be “looking” at the packaging rather than “listening” to the voices..
Performances can be very distracting (positively or negatively) and one can easily miss the real point and a good voice..
So,,
“Let there be light”.. err sound..The “Voice of India”.. Amen

In play back singing, the main thing is to entertain the masses by their singing .Classically trained competitors have the added advantage in bringing their best in 4 to 5 minutes.so,the ultimate idea is to give entertainment value.that is how kishoreda, raffi, yesudas ,lathaji ashaji became popular.they were not to go out and give 3 to 4 hours of Classical singing. There is a set of ordiance for each type of singing.amul voice of india is to select the best play back singer and not for selecting people who sing classical music.
For such things there can be different type of competitions.SO MY DEAR MUSIC LOVERS DO NOT compare these singers with hariharanji, yesudas, bhimsenjoshi or Jagjithsingji or gangubai hangal etc etc.let the best entertainer sing and win.
In this competition that is available only in AABHAS,TOSHI,AND sUMITHRA.THEY WILL BE THE TOP THREE.

Nobody is asking her to sing a thumri or Drupad or anything. That’s why nobody complained when Aditi was out, she was not meant for filmi songs.
Venkat you are not getting the point. Even if you do not have much music background, which is obvious coz you are supporting Sumitra so much, I dont mean it as an offence but really it is obvious. But anyway, try to sing along any of Lataji’s or Ashaji’s songs or since you are male Rafi’s and Kishor’s songs, and the parts where a below average singer finds difficult to sing, those are the parts that are classical, just a small part is worth 3 or 4 hours of heavy classical singing. It shows how well prepared a singer is for film songs.
Alka Yagnik is also not a heavy classical singer, but she is very good for filmy songs. Classical songs are taken more by Sadhana Sargam or Kavita Krishnamurthy, but Alka has her own fresh melodious voice and she does have classical training which shows in her songs in these small twists and turns that I am referring to. A playback singer should at least have that much, cummon, its not really too hard.

And yes I totally agree with Tru on inviting Ravindra Jain, he would do proper clarification of all the confusion in here

Remember this show is called Voice of India – not Indian Idol. We are looking for a versatile vocal talent who can sing a wide variety of songs. One of the readers raised a very good point that we should not be comparing these singers with hariharan, bhimsenjoshi or gangubai hangal (jagjit singh was such a piss off as a judge….not that he is not a good singer; a) he was a boring judge with no special comments on the gaayki…sounded more like a spot boy being put on the judge’s seat).
Firstly comparisons are but natural. But yes, considering their experience and exposure its probably not fair.
I guess one mistake that Gaj is probably doing is that he is getting only music directors/singers from Bollywood (and also making these participants sing the filmi songs). Sounds almost like they are doing Bollywood a favor by finding a good singer for them. We need a good voice who will just grow and grow and grow and provide us some great music – be it in terms of rendition or in terms of compositions. So, in my opinion, Gaj should also focus on getting a Bhimsen Joshi, a Gangubai Hangal, a Pt. Jasraj and have these participants sing some great classical compositions as well. As a matter of fact that will be a great platform to promote the Indian Classical Music which is slowly waning away in this country. So what if wont reach out to the “mass” audience (not every program showed on all the “commercial/star” channels are meant for the hoipolloi.
Would love to see a Carnatic musician or a Hindustani maestro come as judge; and I also sincerely hope these judges are not advised/instructed (which i dont think is happening anyways) to be sweet to the participants. i.e., if the singer is bad and delivers a terrible performance, he be said so. And not pass some kindergartenish comments (like Udit does on Indian Idol) “Tum is se bhi acha gaa sakte ho; tum mein vo baat hai but aur hard work karo” crap.
I find the VOI quality better than zee SRGMP (altho SRGMP has a great singer Amanat – i sincerely hope he wins).

DEAR SUNIL,
I READ YOUR COMMENTS. YES I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU. THEY SHOULD INVITE STANDARD CLASSICAL SINGERS AS JUDGES.I AM NOT WATCHING SRGMP.BECAUSE I THOUGHT ONLY SVOI HAS GOOD SINGERS.INDIAN IDOL IS THE WORST.I SHALL WATCH AMANATH IN SRGMP.THANK YOU

I Feel that this voting system is spoiling the career of the emerging singer as we all saw a live example that Ashpreet was voted out and Abhilasha remained back inspite of two bad performance. Infact if i have to recollect the day that Sunidhi Chauhan was selected out of Meri Awaaz Suno… there was no voting system at that time..even then judges were able to pick the right person out… i think the voting system should be stopped. Ashpreet needs to be called back. Judges have to take a genunie decision with this…. Ashpreet has a very good potential with is not there in Abhilasha, she does not deserve that platform…..this is too bad…
Note
If you readers feel anything sense full in this that Ashpreet has to be called back on the show then please forward the same from ur end as well…..

Judges are not fair they are showing their personals biased comments…which is not good and will be a cause of not only failure of this supereme programme will also be a cause of unfair result..at the end.
so we should try to be fair in our voting and try to show our strong comments to avoid any unpleasant..thanx to all

you are 100% saying well deepthy…Ashpreet was tooooo good than Abhilasha..Her voice quality, voice’s adjustment and so much controlled GAEYKI…she was best than Abhilash,…but this all happened due to unfair play of ADESH and Mr.Pandit….
By Deepthy on Aug 24, 2007 | Reply
I would definately not comment about judges here because Agni team judges never speak about the negative points about their contestant while the show is aired post the contest they go on with corrections i think this procedure is correct coz contestants wont feel demotivated or demoralised & judge request for vote & show good expressions so that audience get a good feel abt the contestants but majorly 1 problem seen is that there is no understanding between the judges.
Disgusting thing that happened on the show on 24th Aug’07 (i.e..Friday)Alka Yagnik stood besides Abhilasha while she was singing that is foolishness or childishness…i think the program or the contest is “AMUL STAR VOICE OF INDIA” & not a school or college day function/competition…. i think the organiser have to rething on this….For a fact we all know that Priyani, Ishmeet & Irfan are better than Prantika or Prantik sur… Abhijeet had really behaved very bad when Abhilasha was given 6 & when next Sumitra sang Abhijeet gave her 6 whereas she had sung well they are just trying to compare things….& are not give a chance for the right voice to grow….Guest Preetham who visit the show had said that he would love to work with Ashpreet & that if he had a event Management team he would directly offer her all that was because her voice quality was good…but i did not hear any good comments for Abhilasha from Any of the guest who come on the show since “Bemisal Barah” Has started….
Strange…..

I am really very afraid becuz if all of you remember the performance of PRANTIKA on 14th july song was “AB JO MILEY HEN TU BANHON KO BANHON”…in that song Jatin pandit notice a lyrics mistake in the middle lines of the song(untra)which was”YOUNHI NASHA CHARHTA RAHEY..K..TERA PYAR BARHTA RAHEY”..Mr Pandit said it is wrong but it was rite not wrong.not a mistake of PRANITKA but mistake of Mr.Pandit..any way happened so happend..but point is,,and m i schocked HARSHIT sing “TU MILEY DIL KHILEY” its untra was wrong in its lyrics,,it was mistake,,but no one noticed,,,and praised ..all of you can check it and can listen original song again to ensure what i said…TELL ME WHAT WILL HAPPEN if this kind of JUDGMENT will be occur for VOI…sad very sad…

Why the hell are we so bollywood centered friends. Why are these judges hell bent upon choosing with only playback singing in mind.My personal opinion is that, between both the shows,Voi and saregama, Voi has better singers and saregama has better judges, and a better director. The quawalli edition of saregama was a delight.coming back to VOI,such amazing talents….Toshi,irfan,sumitra..priyani…why are the judges not giving them a free run.Nusrat saheb was most popular without being a playback singer.so is jagjit,Gulamali, kailash kher…hansraj hans, shobha mudgal, and none of them can be termed as a playback voice. But tell me friends are they a delight to hear. Why not let toshi free to delight us with his folk and classical sufi based songs.why are these people bent upon making him sing filmy.Irfan is another singer who is great. He proved his mettle with his one song..tere bina frm guru.If sumitra is good, why not let her free to sing her own choices, she will excell in folk and fast numbers, though none of the female singers are up to the mark of toshi and irfan. The one who was,has been voted out, yes,Arshpreet.Aadesh and the pandits are not only poor, they are bad judges.playing favouritism. They are responsible for arshpreet being voted out.As for the other singers,Abhaas and ishmeet have good voice, but they are not above the orchestra singers.i know many of you may disagree, but i still feel the same, though ishmeet has the sweetest voice of them all, still cant forget his first song..frm sanghursh(haan mujhe raat din..).Priyani was best in her audition round,i wonder whats happened to her now.Abhilasha is a baby…nasal, but will develop in time.Mirande is of ila arun mould.I have omited one singer, coz i dont even find words for him.uska diction horrible hai.still wo tabalchi and group ka wonderchild hai.The finals going to be between toshi irfaan and (i dont know why,but still..) sumitra.what say friends….!

As harsh as it may sound, I have no complaints about Ashpreet being out. Again, not that she is a bad singer; most contestants in this show are good singers and have a style of their own and have sung well. I dont think Ashpreet is versatile enough. Pls. pay attention to what I am saying. all i am saying is that she is not versatile enough (not that she is a bad singer). Punjabi songs suit her the best; and a certain genre of songs. Abhilasha certainly dserves a kick too and will probably get one soon ( but yes i agree that she should have gotten one before Ashpreet)
By karthikeyan on Aug 26, 2007 | Reply
Some one has to go everyweek and it was ‘ashpreet’ since she was the weakest link among all the other singers….this doesnot mean that she is a bad singer….according to me, the top three wud be Irfan, thoshi and aabhas provided the judges r fair enough in their comments …the voting system shuld be stopped completely….all the judges shuld train all the contestents. this wud help them not to get too personal with any of these contestents.
dont really know why they r becoming too personal with their comments. the same people (Mr. adesh and Mr. lalit) have appreciated abhilasha and irfan in some of the previous episodes when they were common judges. now, wat has made them change…why shuld someone be trained in classical singing to deliver a mind blowing singing ….? then, wat abt kishorda and rafi saab….they were also not trained in classical singing but till date we r enjoying their songs….they r legends…..let the judeges be more balanced…this is the only singing talent show where u get hear very good songs from the contestents….so, pls do not spoil them with the improper comments of the judges…it puts everyone off….let us enjoy good music and appreciate it….

All are talented, and the public will decide via sms, so save the hangama folks…
No religion, no caste, no profiling anyone, all human and no is perfect and Abhijeet is a good bloke but at times the idiot in him becomes visible and he has his foot in his mouth.

Some say Toshi is good and the others say so and so, Toshi has made mistakes many times and when he misses his line he gets nervous and his sur becomes inconsistent.
With more practise and proper guidance , he can become a good sufi singer and be in the league of Raja, Amanat,Musarrat…
Ishmeet is indeed a talented singer and he can sing many genres.
Ashpreet was superb and so are the other ladies….
In one sentence ” MAY THEY ALL BE WINNERS IN THEIR LIVES ” loosing is a journey to success.. “

Dear Sewa, I think u r fit for doing sewa to Agni Judges and Ishhh Meat.
You are also like other blind people who doesn’t want to accept the truth that Toshi is the best singer in VOI. U can download Toshi MP3s and listen to them and then comment on the blog. Toshi is the only best singer in VOI. Ishmet is the most undeserving singer in top 5, maybe this week Ishmeet or Harshit will get eliminated this week if the votes don’t get manipulated. Ishmet is not a talented singer and cannot sing many genres, he can sing only plain songs without sur and have never selected any difficult songe. Toshi can sing any difficult song and he has proved it and even he can also sing better than the original songs. Pls. don’t show in ur comments that u have no knowledge of music.

I think priyani has a play back voice and a lot of potential… and toshi, irfan and aabas are good… Sumitra uses false voice… when she sings higer pitch lines…thats y in morni song her voice is shaky..Abhilasha is not good… Infact i am sad that prantika was out long back who had beautiful voice … it was proved in dhak dhak… very playback voice… Aadesha nd both pandits are unfair judjes.. The VOI team should rotate the judges as suggested by someone in the comments..
