Well … well… well.. What to say on Jatin Lalit’s deeds in this episode. He has shown his unfairness in the past as well but this was the worst one.
When Harshit missed thrice during singing, he still gets 9 points from Jatin Lalit, where as Irfan sung well, perhaps better than Harshit and he gets 8 marks from Jatin Lalit. Are these guys after any religion, location, community, personality, looks…. I want to understand what this that forces them to make bias decisions. I’m sure it is not voice or performance.
When this man stands and starts delivering lecture (like he is contesting for MP elections!!), it gives an impression that he is very fare and has a great temperament that can support all injustice! Where as he himself is doing injustice with the participants. It’s nothing else but just to facilitate his brothers group.
I’m telling u guys, Now when show is reaching it’s climax, and specially when tonight 2 guys come back on wild card entry (I hope Toshi comes back today), these judges will not get more strict because of the climax, but they’ll act more dishonestly. Five Judges are favoring following candidates.
1. Abhijeet SUPPORTING TOSHI (got kicked out at early stages, because Abhijeet is not a mentor that has enough power cause he keeps on talking for nothing and has lost his worth. I want to add something for Toshi here. TOSHI MUST BE VOI)
)
2. Alka Yagnik SUPPORTING ABHILASHA (This girl has got so many chances from mentors and specially Alka. I’ve never seen Alka praising so much to any other participant as much she praises Abhilasha)
3. Jatin Lalit SUPPORTS ABHAS (got eliminated, because Adesh supports Sumitra and Lalit is hung between Adesh and Jatin)
4. Adesh Shrivastav SUPPORTS SUMITRA (I don’t want to say that Sumitra is bad singer at all, but do want to say that Sumitra do not have caliper of becoming VOI, so there must be something fishy fishy between these 2. Initially it was Abhijeet who supported Sumitra but I think now its Adesh’s turn!!
5. Lalit Pandit SUPPORTS HARSHIT (Harshit is not a bad singer at all and has quality of becoming a playback singer)
One thing is for sure as of today’s episode. VOI is either Harshit or Abhilasha. They way mentors are pushing these guys clearly shows their partialness towards other participants. Even if Toshi comes back, these bias judges will kick him out again through so called PUBLIC VOTING. I think I am a fool who keeps on requesting people to stop voting for Sumitra and Ishmeet. I just forgot that even if people stops voting for them, they have enough sources to keep them surakshit.
Just now I cam to know that Irfan’s performance is not available on this website today for 22nd Sept Episode. Is the owner of this site too hinting towards something that we cannot understand, or next Friday its Irfan?
Friends, let’s pray for the talent that might last in this show.

Hello Friends, I am back in forum since I believe things have become worse from bad. Yesterday episode was the worst of all the episodes so far. Normally standard improves as any such competition progresses. Look at Indian Idol, toward the end contenders improved a lot. In this competition exactly opposite is happening. Who should be blamed? We public of course. Because real singers are demoralized after elimination of Toshi, Priyani and Aabhash. They know it is just public voting drama (and may be some behind the scene gafla) is going to make them or break them and not their singing quality.
I again request everyone that Sumitra and Ishmeet are the weakest contenders but Ishmeet has improved a lot in comparison with Sumitra. Sumitra is still there for her look, style and latka-matka. Standard of show is gone down because of her and she must be eliminated. People wake up and make sure she is out before this program goes to level Antakhsrai Junior. Also other day Sumitra gave so much disgrace to Nituji. First Sumitra went to Rishi and requested him to come to stage. When Rishi refused and asked her to go to Nituji. When Nituji also refused she kept insisting and trying to convince Nituji that she wants learn few dancing steps from her. If that is the case why did she went to Rishi at first place. I guess once Nituji refused she must not force and take advantage of Nituji being humble. Sumitra just wanted to bring Nituji so that she can get some cheap publicity and not because she really respects Nituji. Shame on you Sumitra. I hope we will not see you next episode onward.

This is about Mr.Ateeq’s comments.
The judges are there to tell who’s good. We ask the judges to judge and when they say someone is good we say it’s biased. This is because it doesn’t agree with our opininion. No system of judging is perfect. One way is public voting system which goes on religion, state and everything except merit.The only other way is by judges. They may sometimes be biased but still we have to accept it .
At least they are experts in music and know better than you and me.

i m kazam from Pakistan for the 1st time.we in Pakistan are also sad for the exit of TOSHI and now ABHAAS is eliminated.but watching the whole episodes of this program i just want to say that HARSHIT has been given so much importance even for what he did in the last show.AADESH & LALIT should remember what good they have done to the confidence of ABHILASHA when she forgot some words.so pls judges don’t make fool of the people.only Harshit is not poor what’s about TOSHI? is poverty the criteria for VOI? there r only 3 magical voices TOSHI, IRFAN & ABHILASHA.ONE REQUEST if GAJJI SHAH want this program to be successful pls change the judges after 1st round.it will be better for this show.also if u add 3 more judges to decide on these last 5 contestents rather than public,it will make sense

Thanks for correcting me. I’m always open to positive criticism and gives great regards to your opinion.
Well friend, just a small example on personal opinions here…. Babies born from one mother’s belly do not agree with each other in majority cases. Each human being has his/her own school of thought.
Now as of judges from VOI, that’s what sure that we obey judges judgement and this is the reason that this forum is getting so many comments daily. It’s just that we love this show and wanna fight for right here… and we criticise judges here. I’m sure these views does not have any harm on their decisions.
Just a small question to you buddy. Do you agree with Jatin’s biased marks to Irfan and Harshit? Do you agree with Toshi’s Elimination and then Abhas, Priyani and Mirande’s Elimination? Do you agree that Sumitra deserves place in final 5 or 4?
So friend.. thanks again and let’s support the real talent here.

i am sitting very far, in new zealand and watching all the crap going on the show, i would liek to point out a few things
1. in one of the performances abilasha missed/forgot and dint pick up the music, adesh was so rude in pinching her and not allowing her to sing again. moreover when toshi got eliminated he and lalit called ” toshi ne aj tak koi nautanki nahi ki, ki main bhul gaya, main bimar tha etc etc.
I want to ask these guys one thing – Why was harshit allowed to pick up the music again yesterday. That wasnt a nautanki for sure,thanks to alka and abhi for supporting him. but abhilasha didnt delibrately do that too.
These cheeky judges have cleary some intentions behind harshit.
2. Yesterday i was pretty sure when irfan was performing that jatin gives everybody 9 for good performance but he would give him less and at the same time lalit who criticised him last time gave him 9 because his insult to his last performance made the people give him the highest votes. This time jatin–lalit-adesh trick was to get the neutral judge give him 8 so that people dont feel bad coz he was from prithvi. How cheap things can go, its upto the indians do decide.
I dont say that Irfan is the best singer of the lot but definitely his performance wasnt bad to be given 8, when all others with good performance got 9 from jatin.
Clearly they see him a contender for the VOI so they wanna clear harshit’s path.
3. Lalit started praising abhilasha all of a sudden yesterday, that clerly meant he wanted people to vote for her so as to minimise the chances to vote irfan.
I APPEAL TO THE PEOPLE OF REPUBLIC INDIA TO VOTE FOR WHAT THEY LIKED. DONT LISTEN TO ANY CRAP FROM THREE DENTORS NOT MENTORS (LALIT-ADESH-JATIN)
And thanks to Gaj ji for conveying through the VOI the Aoookat these three belong to.

and tell them to vote just as they choose the miss world / miss universe, if you wanna clear and true VOI.
These three jatin-lalit-adesh are gonna ruin the show otherwise.

Hi All,
It was a wonderfull performance from all in Prithvi team and it was just not at par from Agni, but Harshit is a great singer and he should be given a chance.But that Ms Sumitra she must be shown the door now.
Also, for the good of the show the trio of Sala-Jija, Jatin,Lalit and Adesh should also be thrown out.Day by day they just proove their stupidity and biasedness.And all their comments with “Saraswati Maa” ki kasam should be stopped, please dont let Peoples belief in the Goddess of Knowledge be at stake.He just cant doing all this rubish.
My Opinion Irfaan, Harshit and Abhilasha should fight for the finals if not Toshi and Priyani are back and in that case it should be Irfan, Toshi and Priyani.

I just watched the VOI episode for Wildcard Entries. The show was amazing with all the eliminated participants performing their level best. The respected judges were, Khaiyyam,Parveen Sultana,Ravindra Jain and Anandji(Kalyanji-Anandji). Finally they have selected 4 names and they will be disclosed only next friday.All the performances were superb and Toshi and Abhas were just awesome. The public should see what blunder they had done by eliminating them. FYI, Toshi sang “Upar Khuda Aasmaan Neeche” from the film Kacche Dhaage and Abhas sang “Ek Chatur Naar” from the film Padosan.
Now just keep you fingers crossed and wait till friday.

well i have read all people’s comment on last programmes all people say their own thought but nobody is ready to take a step into it. I wanna say that if u people thought that Toshi and Priyani and now Abbhas are the good contenders to be VOI(no doubt) why they got eliminated? and why they are calling a wild card entry. JJudges are making their own decision not on Public voting (Public Voting Drama is just for the sake of publicity and fame of the show)Every Judge is supporting their own participants (As Ateeq and kvniranjan8 said I agree with u guys)if I would be a Judge in between them i only prefer the real voice (In my opinion they are Harshit, Abhilasa and Toshi)they must be Final three. Abhilasha and Harshit have the voice of play back singers and Toshi is just like Kailash Kher he has depth in his voice which touvh the soul. that’s all I wanna say.

Mr.Ateeq, thank you very much for your response and for the sporting way in which you have taken my comments. I am the first to agree that I may be wrong in some matters. I feel you have a mature mentality.
I want to humbly give some of my opinions. Please don’t mistake me if I’m wrong.
Let me say that all my life I’m the biggest fan of Mohd Rafi first and Lata Mangeshkar second. To me, Rafi is the best ever so far and Lata is best among female singers. I like Rafi’s smooth voice. Kishore and Mukesh though very good, are slightly less. If you are trying to sing, the most difficult to sing are Rafi and Lata songs.
My comments about the contestants (Here you may disagree with me). First of all, singing on stage is different from singing in the studio. Every singer including Rafi and Lata would be bound to make some small mistakes in every song on the stage in a live performance.
1.Now starting with Toshi. He has the best control over sur (but sometimes he also goes off), his tone quality is also good, he also puts emotion and feeling into his voice. But his drawbacks are also there. He always sings almost the same type of song. His pitch and tone are the same in song after song. He will be unable to sing comedy songs for example the Padosan song which Abhaas sang so well on 24. He is the best for his particular type.
2. Irfan has a good voice quality and tries to sing different types of songs. His very big drawback now is that he doesn’t put full life into the song. He is half hearted effort in many songs. The Kishore Kumar song is an example. But I feel with some training he can correct this problem and can become a very good singer. I think he’s the best in the male singers but I won’t say that he’s the VOI.
3.Now coming to Abhilasha. I will admit that I am a little biased about her and she’s my darling. She has completely stolen my heart. But even with this, I would say that she’s the best as a playback singer. With some more training and improvement she can continue Lata style of music in her own voice. She has sung old and new songs, classical and rock, happy and sad, slow and fast, all types amazingly.
I listened to Aa jaa ne ja song by Lata original and felt for the first time in my life that it was flat. Abhilasha gave more life into the song. If you have the opportunity listen to the original and Abhilasha.
So I think Abhilasha should be the VOI.
4.Priyani.She’s also almost the same type as Abhilasha but I feel doesn’t have equal talent. Her song on 24 was extremely good but all her songs are not of that standard.
5.Abhaas. Extremely versatile and especially suited for comedy songs. Very good control over sur and almost never goes off.
But very inconsistent. Many times he gives very average performance.
6.Sumitra. Doesn’t have good control over sur. Can’t do all types of songs. Only suitable for cabaret type songs.
7.Harshit. Has a slight lisp and can’t pronounce words properly.Sings only certain types of songs. Can become a good playback singer after some corrections as another Kishore Kumar but no original voice.
Others are average singers with the exception of Ishmeet. He is special because he should not have been in the 12 at all. He was included only to get Punjabi money. His voice quality is quite good but his singing ability is very low. He never selects any difficult song and sings almost like reciting poetry.
Stop public voting now. Bring back Toshi, Abhaas, Priyani. change the format.
I completely agree with Mr.Kamal’s comments.
I had made similar suggestions a few weeks back on another forum.
I’ll just paste that comment here
I would like to post my thoughts about the format of this program and suggest some changes.
1. All this weeping and tears when a contestant is eliminated should be avoided. This spoils the atmosphere and prevents pure enjoyment of a musical evening. The contestants also cannot give their best performance if they are under tension. The viewers go through the week becoming more nervous day by day wondering who will enter the danger zone and who will be eliminated. Far from improving the viewership ratings, I believe many viewers will switch off from the program when their favourite contestant is eliminated.
My FIRST SUGGESTION IS: NO ELIMINATIONS. All the contestants should sing freely in all the episodes and only in the last episode the winner(s) should be declared.
2. The judging should be done both on the basis of the judges marks (60 to 70% and the public voting ( 30 to 40% ). For each contestant the total of both the figures should be added for all the episodes while arriving at the result.
3. Only the judges marks should be revealed in each episode so that the candidates can improve their performance. The public voting figures should not be revealed till the end.
4. No teams should be formed. All the contestants should be impartially judged by all the judges.
5. Each episode should be dedicated to one genre of songs i.e. romantic, rock, sad, ghazal, etc.
6. Seperate male and female winners should be declared.
7. The region and city of the contestant should not be mentioned till the last episode.
The views of others about these suggestions are welcome and I would like to request the moderator to pass on this post to the organisers of Voice of India.
I can add some more
8.The public voting can be completely removed. Also judges should judge the difficulty of the song (1=easiest upto 5=most difficult) and multiply this with the points given.
9.The judges should not give the points immediately after the performance. They should review it and discuss among themselves during the week and announce it in the next round, this will avoid continuous fighting on the stage.
10.Sickness allowance should be given once for each contestant if required. Even if the contestant can’t sing they can be given average points for that day.
Finally in my opinion the male VOI should be Irfan or Toshi, the female VOI should be Abhilasha and special prizes for Abhaas and Priyani.
I would appreciate comments on this.

Dear Ateeq and Friend,
The comments from Ateeq are in bad taste when he writes that Sumitra gets support from Aadesh because there is something fishy between them. One must not hate somebody so much that he stoops down to such a level of indecency to criticise him/her. By doing so, it only speaks of yourself.
I have following points to mention:
1)When a competition is held, its rules must be respected. One cannot blame the rules for not having qualified in it. He / She cannot say that he needs to be given a second chance as he/she failed to remember the answer of a question. In no competition one gets the chance again. If he/she fails and if he/she feels himself/ herself to be deserving he can only appear in the next year’s exam.
2) I admit Toshi is the best singer, but having said that, his fans must agree that on that day he had lesser number of people who voted for him which means that other singers have more fans who vote for them. If fans of Toshi, Abhas, Priyani do not vote for them or if they are less in numbers this is entirely their problem. Blaming other singers for that is entirely out of place.
3) Crying here for the recall of Toshi/ Priyani / Abhas /etc is of no use, because those who are crying are active on the blog and those who think the decision is OK and rules must be respected, are dormant. That does not mean that everyone is crying for Toshi/ Abhas/ etc.
4) The other singers are surviving because they had better following, simple.
5) A visit to some other blog sites Orkut etc, would reveal that who has the biggest following. If Toshi is not there, please accept this.
6) Please do not stoop to such a level of casting aspersions about character of a singer, just because the result is not to your liking.
7) Nobody stopped the fans of these eliminated singers from voting.
9) I am against this wild card entry process. Because all the singers would ba facing elimination threat 11 times before reaching to the top. But two of these eliminated singers would be straightaway lifted from round 1,2,3,4 to directly into round 8 or 9. Means having faced the elimination threat lesser number of times. Is it fair to those singers who maintained their grond in all these rounds.
I know the hardcore fans would criticise my this post, and I expect from them the allegations like there is something between me and Sumitra, but still I hope there are saner voices too in this blog.

hello, i have been reading the comments on this blog…and my firm opinion is in singing competitions, its best that the public is not given to vote.in fact, yest ,wild card entr y episode was a pleasure to watch.its been a real pain to see the judges pass riduculous comments over the past few episodes.they can change the format, like kvniranjan said.it makes more sense.and very frankly, the general public do base their votes on region, looks, etc.i really dont think its based on their singing abilities.hence, its better if they have eminent judges,who give their individual scores, and also their comments.no groupism, favoritism.they can still change the format.it seems more like a star tamasha show rather than a talent hunt.chuck out the present judges, who are amazingly biased and get good neutral judges, like the wild card entry show.the top 5 contestants dont deserve to b in the top 5….except irfan, abhilasha to some extent….both r not consistent at all.the less said abt ishmeet and sumitra the better.i did like harshit in the beginning…..but hes getting to b a bore.i only hope they change the format soon….so that they can genuinely choose the best person as the star voice of india.

I would agree with all that you have so eloquently put forth, except for one niggling doubt that I have , which has not been answered satisfactorily yet. The question is; your entire argument is based on the fact that certain people are out , because their “fans” did not VOTE for them. Well, my question is how sure are you that the VOTES get counted, that the votes matter and indeed there are significant voters at all? Recall my first blog, where I had asked this question. Every reality show of this kind globally worth it’s salt, appoints a neutral third party auditor to audit the number and allocation of votes. In the case of VOI where is that? So, therefore the niggling doubt will always be there that things are not what they seem and that there is some room for ad hocism (do note that I use the words ad hocism and not nepotism!!). Remember, to be fair is not enough, like Ceaser’s wife , you also have to be SEEN to be fair.Unfortunately,this just has not been the case with VOI till date.
When a Khayyam saab says” Yeh Ilm hai, aur audience ko talent chun na nahi aata”, he is not just saying it to you and me, it is also to Gajendraji. Because he knows that isnpite of all that happened on Sunday, you still have sms voting to select 2 out out of 4. My question, why did the judges on Sunday , not just choose the Wild card 2? Why vote ?

I totally agree with your earlier posts about making money through SMS and zero transparency about public voting. Caesar’s wife is beyond doubt but what is more important is that she should appear to be beyond doubt. True!!
Having said that, I still believe that Gajendra Singh, whatever is money making intentions are, should be atleast this much honest as far as public voting through public money is concerned.
If your, and(to some extent mine too) contention is right, then I would say that we all have been taken for a ride by Gajendra Singh in the name of talent hunt.
Look! what Abhilasha says about Wild Card process! She conveniently forgets the favour extended to her by Alka Yagnik by saying that “Dont worry Abhilasha! Public will vote in sympathy for you”. And Harshit who also opposed to Wild Card entry route conveniently forgets that he forgot lyrics thrice as well as notes and still has the audacity to say that it is unfair to those who had survived this far. The only decent comment was from the most hated lady candidate about waking up the Janta. Her critics would not see any decency even in this and I am sure would comment that it is all her diplomacy and still they would support oppurtunistic comments of Abhilasha and Harshit.
If Gajendra Singh was really interested in talent hunt he would have taken the services of the music big-wigs instead of SMS route.
Anyway, does anybody remember Bela! she won the finals of first Zee Sa Re Ga Ma show. Has she bagged any playback singing contracts?
Where are the first and the second Indian Idols except launching some albums which lost in oblivion before their launch. The same thing is going to happen with the third Indian Idol and then the champions of SVOI and other music show on Zee. An interesting article in TOI today highlights exactly this.
Anyway Sumitra (after being eliminated) will heave a sigh of relief as hopefully the nasty comments by so-called music lovers about her character etc would now stop.

First of all I would again like to prominence on the fact that we all like VOI and that’s the reason that participants of VOI are discussed here, because they are the one responsible for VOI’s success.
Thanks for your valuable feedback on my comments about Sumitra. Actually I disagree with due respect because this is a fact. Sources closer to VOI have revealed this fact that she is getting support from judges and support cannot be earned without giving away something. If you recall the episode in which 4 judges were against Alka just for asking Sumitra to sing finally, will give you clear idea. Alka was very much right at that time by saying “suroon say samjhota ho raha hay” and that’s been proved now. I apologies for using wrong words may be, but I’m very much clear on the concept. I’m not pointing at her character and I’m not getting paid by the organizers for writing here but I’m here to raise the voice for the right, because it’s not against my wish but against millions of people. I think Orkut gives clear Idea for Sumitra as well.
When you talk about the voting format, it is not fare at all. Votes are being maneuvered for judge’s sake. I’d already mentioned that this voting format was acquired initially so that judges can play with the results freely. My friend, any thing is possible in India.
Now again they are hunting for money. When 4 venerated judges were sitting there, why can’t THEY declare 2 wild card entries, but no, Gaji needs more money from public for voting for wild card entries. I beforehand said, it not a talent hunt show but it’s a money hunt show and they’ve proved it right this time.
When you talk about Toshi on Orkut, I just have to ask you that have you seen advertisement of VOI these days? where all honorable guests are shown praising VOI, just notice when Pooja Bhat says “bhai apna number do vote karnay kay leye (She said this to Toshi originally)” but now a days Ishpreet and Irfan are shown for these comments, so that public thinks pooja was asking them for their IDs and not to Toshi. These are the tactics used to brain washing public minds. Now allot of people will comment here that if Toshi has strong voice and has rare talent, he should not be affected by these low level tricks, but it does effect friends. Janta buhat bholi hay.
Any ways I just can’t spoil my reputation here because of influential lady called Sumitra. It’s just that it hurts when singer like her is still inn and singers like Toshi and Abhas are out. That makes the difference and it is a concealed fact that she does not deserves a place in final 5.

can’t believe that Sumitra has gone ! surprised ! She selected really better songs in past episodes but now a days i was feeling somewhat wrong in her voice, her soor specially low notes- and the selection of songs – Even though she was inchkravat she was looking “Not bothering ” i feel its good to not having tension.
i do not feel the wild card entry idea …. its too messy now .Gone is gone – It will be unfair if VOI do not call Sumitra as well – because people gave votes to sumitra …..
