Now, this is getting way too much. Why three are selected instead of two. It is getting stretched like a chewing gum now and hecne the show has become really boring. Though I am happy that the three who are back are really good. Priyani and Abhas are among my favs and Toshi is ofcourse very talented..But as Rishi said..this is another suspense thrilller now..
No charm left in this program..Once two out of these three are selected, then again the fantastic four will compete with the two new entries..How is Gajji planning to clear this mess started by him?

Why should we worry as to how the show is going to end. The whole idea is to have a VOICE OF INDIA. Toshi is the obvious choice. More of his performances the merrier.

Voice of india me judges to apni apni favourate singer to support karte hai. Alkaji to sirf abilasha ko hi support karte hai. Woh chahate hai ki sirf abilasha hi VOI bane.
VOI to ek compitaion nahin hai, ek bakvas show hai.
Judges to apne apne favt ko support kiya to baki contestent ka kya hoga.
Isliye ye show ka naam VOI se Voice of Judges rakha to accha hai
aur public voting bhi stop kijiye.

If they selected three instead of two then they should know that ashpreet sang very well. They should consider ashpreet too. Either they should select only two or just 4 because this is unfair with ashpreet. Comparatively she was best amongst toshi, abhas and priyani so she should not ignore by judges. Moreover, atleast she s far better than abhilash. I say …. just two (as said earlier) or four (to make ashpreet in). So unfair….

The show used to be a hit in Pakistan, but anymore. This wild card addition has taken away the attraction. The format to begin with was that janta would vote for their favourites. I know janta is not always right but everyone (the judges, the contestants and the janta) was well aware of the format. Then why change the format and bring back contestants who had been voted out by the people. I think it’s unfair to the remaining four. I always thought that Harshit, Toshi and Abbhas would be the top three. But if two of them were eliminated early, it’s just tough luck. I also have a question: what happens if Harshit is eliminated, will he get another chance?

Toshi and aabhas are fine but priyani is not as good as ashpreet. She has different voice that is missing in the industry….(as lalit says).

Abbhas is really worth to come back into the show. I wish him good luck.
Even though the shows seems to be dragging a bit, we all should be happy that a second chance is given to participants who are really worth it.
I also feel that like judges have a veto power to bring back they choice of participant into the competition again , even we should given a chance to veto and bring back our choice of singer.
What do you all say about this

This is not going anywhere. I am happy for Toshi as he deserves to be the Voice of India.
But, Priyani, she absolutely spoiled the song and she is selected, I am surprised. Arshpreet sang far better than Priyani. Priyani was screaming not singing, her diction was bad as well, she sang “ankhen bahaye” whereas it is “Ankhen Bichhaye”. Please listen to her again and listen the original, she literally spoiled a fantastic composition.

i completely agree with gabriel…
this show is boring now… i have watched SRGMP n indian idol 3 as well. All of these shows r full of drama n playing with real talent. i think creator/ producer/ director should make up their mind wat they want. it has no charm left… public voting may not be right all the time but wats the use of stretching this non sense wild card entry segment… its just ridiculous.. taking public’s money just for the TRP ratings cannot accept public’s decision…
i am not against any singer .. all r great in thier own place.. some may be better than others but its a competition somebody has to lose or win… someone will have a great day or bad day …
i think if they will stretch this for too long then the judgement should be given in the hands of experienced, professional, and unbias judges n stop this public voting … why don’t the judges once and for all tell their FAVORITE singer ????( i think thats the problem here) each have his own fav n wat about the rest???
we have really seen great talent like deepali ,chang, emon , amit paul , raja, aneek , amanat ali, mussarat, junaid, toshi , abhas, irfan, sumitra and many more

Dear Gajendra ji,
I am disillusioned with the Spoiler results of SVOI for wild card entry. Nobody, whosoever watched the show, would accept the fact that Priyani is in and Arshpreet is out inspite of judges’ 50% weightage. If Priyani had sung this song even during the initial auditions at the time of initial selection, I am very sure none of you would have accepted her. What surprises us is that at this stage with her this kind of performance you are getting her into the programme is inconceiveable. Once again your system has proved to be an utter failure. This programme is titled SVOI and not somebody’s personal selection ( I apologize if it has hurt anybody’s feelings, I do not intend to hurt anyone).
I am sure by using your veto power you should be able to get Arshpreet in at this stage not because we want her but because her performance was outstanding the other day. I am sure Sanjay Leela Bhansali ji would be the first person to get disillusioned to hear this bad news of her not making at this level.
I am sure some wisdom will prevail, I have a great respect for Jatin ji, Abhijeet ji, and Alka ji and of course you. I am positively confident that you will look into the flaws in your system and try to plug the loop holes.
With respects and love to you and your all the judges, and of course our all participants who take so much of pains to entertain us through their melodious voices.

i don why ppl are creating so much fuss abt aspreet selection.first of all we have to understand that we are looking for play back singer lika asha jee or lata jee or some body like sunidhi who can sing only rap or hip hop songs.have you ever heard her singing melodious or sad songs.i accept ashpreet has a unique voice as compared to other contestant but her voice is heavy means she can sing songs like qawali folk n item numbers.as a music director you will never ask her to sing songs for movie like sawariya.in the end i want to say this we all are looking for voice of india with no limitations rather than a voice with limited singing skills I DON KNOW WHY THEY MISSED OUT PRANTIK SUR ? far better than priyani

the rigged rules n unfair dirty politics created by gaj ji n the judges of VOI is responsible for the elimination of the young legend named abhaas…being a singer myself n having learnt classical music for 13 yrs, i can vouch for the fact that hes a one of a kind untouched singer…sur,expression,technique, voice quality, soulful rendering…u name it..he excels in every aspect of singing and performing and like mahesh bhatt mentioned “sings so effortlessly as if hes breathing”…a true artist is not only well-known for his art but also his personality and attitude towards his art…abhaas comes across as an extremely mature, level-headed, focussed, positive-minded and cheerful fella…whos not out 2 draw swords wid other contestants or be manipulative and pretentious (like most other contestants of voi, esp abhilasha and harshit) or put another person down to succeed…every performance of his has mesmerised me coz theyve been so meaningful, deep and straight from his heart..he had me in tears in his previous performance of “satyam shivam sundaram”..1 of the most daring and difficult attempts he made..yet wid such ease…i request the somewhat hollow and shallow-minded public to recognise true talent that is bestowed in this boy and not get carried away by the looks, dresses and the drama other contestants do to get away wid it…as jatin mentioned “acchi awaaz dil to choo jaati hai par sacchi awaaz dil mein bas jaati hai”..abhaas’s singing is truly divine n has made an indellible place in my mind….please support this chap wholeheartedly…or else i reiterate..its SOLELY the loss of a prized possession 2 the public, music lovers and the music industry itself !!!

Iam not happy with the stupid decision of “Wild Card Entry” of the judges and the Director Mr. Gajendra Singh, because it was obvious that Gajji wanted back Toshi in the show due to the “NAUTANKI” played on the day when Toshi was eliminated. I would like to ask one question from the judges and Gajji that is it fair on their part to bring IN the eliminated participant when once the public has given its verdict it should be final.Why the regulations and norms are changed whenever the director and judges want. I would furthur suggest the participants that they should not take part in such type of shows which humiliate them. I would also suggest Gajji ji that on one of his show,one of the judge has insulted and humiliated one participant to that extent that he was not in a position to clear his mind. I would also suggest that judge not to say all those things on the show when the participant is performing, I hope the concerned judge and the Director must have understood. Please see that no “WILD CARD ENTRY” should be entertained at any cost as it will be unfair to the other p[articipants……..Thanks

I have nothing against Ishmeet, but if one of his brothers wants to say something nasty abt a really talented singer, then I guess truth should be said about Ishmeet..
If Toshi is overrated then what the hell is Ishmeet..?? would u even call him a singer..??
No way is Toshi overrated…I think he isnt rated enough, u always hear crap abt Harshit that hes a great singer, Abhilasha, how fantastic she is…have u ever noticed that all that is said abt Toshi is that “ki woh seekha hua singer hain, ya tayaar singer hain”..when Toshi singers, he captures the auidence…out of the 12 no one did that and no one does that STILL..ppl say Abhas has a great voice …to me…his voice has this sound that comes out in the end, I cant describe it…its like a husky sound (which may go way in years to come, he is young)…but apart from Irfan and Toshi, there isnt clarity in words, their words come out so clear, and I guess it helps if u cant understand the words in a song…
its ppl like Jatin, no sense of taste or music that vote excellent singers out and keep the singers that should be singing at traffic lights in the show..!!

Tumko Sa Re Ga Ma ka Sa bhi aata hai. Jiski awaaz ek sama baandh deti hai usko tum keh rahe ho ki traffic signal par baithe. Mujhe to tumhare dimag par shak ho raha hai mere dost. Yeh keh kar tumne apni aukaat batai hai. Mere ko to lagta hai ke tum traffic signal wale ho.
Jab bhi Toshi ne gaya hai, stage par aag lagi hai. Usne har Jaunar ke gaane gaye hai.
Agar Tum Ishmeet ke tarafdar ho – usse sirf ek baar kaho ke Toshi ke gaye hue gaano mein se koi saa bhi ek gaana usi andaaz mein ga kar bataye. Woh agar wahan par tika hua hai to sirf isliye ke usko Punjab se bahut zyada vote milte hai.
TOSHI ROCKS. So just stop commenting on something that you dont know anything about.

Everytime the judges are bringing back more people than intially planned. What are we going to do in the end when one VOI gets chosen?

This is exactly what I meant, yesterday when I said that quality of debate on this blog has been shot to hell.I am shocked when I read what all has written above.
What kind of debate on music is this? How can music lovers be so antagonistic? calling singers beggars etc?This is not love of music, this is something else. This is vitriol and the dark side of our soul, simply because we express our thoughts on a blog from the shadow of anonymity and this means there is no accountability. Is it any wonder then that in our country mobs get violent for the smallest of reasons? “Protection in Anonymity”?
Lovers of Music ,please do not degenerate into this cess pool of a discussion, let’s talk about good music, and what constitutes good music and let’s leave regionalism , religion and cronyism to Gajendra Singh and his motley crew!

One, two ka three in Star Voice of India – *SPOILER*
Star Voice of India is all set to announce the lucky 2 contestants who made it again, thro’ the Wild Card Round. But are they going to select two? Apparently not! Read on..
Whereas Toshi and Aabhas are the viewers choice, the judges of Voice of India throw a fit and select their own favourite wildcard contestant !
The musical talent hunt reality show, Voice of India (Star Plus), had six of its eliminated participants – Jaipur’s Toshi, Indore ‘s Priyani. Delhi ‘s Aabhas, Kolkata’s Prantik, Ludhiana ‘s Arshpreet and a very reluctant Sumitra from Mumbai – belt out songs last week for the nation to once again vote for them. The concept of the show allows two from among them to return to the competition as wild card entries.
The upcoming episode on Friday is filled with drama, surprise and conflicting viewpoints. Toshi and the youngest singing sensation Aabhas are clear winners as far as viewers voting is concerned. But the fact that no girl contestant made it as the wildcard entry infuriated the sole female judge in this contest, Alka Yagnik. She minced no words at her disappointment over the viewers selection and insisted that as a judge she should be given her right to bring back a contestant of her choice.
The other judges also had their own viewpoints and after a huge battle of words, Priyani was also given a chance to re-enter the competition with three judges voting in her favour out of five.
Stars from the latest to-be-released Yash Raj film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Konkana Sen Sharma and Kunal Kapoor, are the celebrity guests who announce the winners in the wildcard category. And, Indipop singer Daler Mehndi (who has apparently run into some trouble with the cops over drugs today) will be the celebrity guest on Voice of India’s Saturday special ‘Cricket meets Music’ episode.
n this week’s episode, producer-director Gajendrra Siingh says, “Tempers had reached such a point that I thought Alkaji will walk out once again over Priyani. Undoubtedly, the viewers have selected the best singers but both being males got adverse reactions from the audience and judges. There is anyway plenty of debate going on whether India will ever crown a female singer and also if SMS’s are the best way to pick winners. To put to rest both these points and to give them all a fair chance, I let the judges pick one singer instead of have them throw tantrums and upset the schedule.”

I don’t understand the policy of Abhijeet,what he means, sometimes he praises the participants to the highest level and very next he brings down, this has happened several times in the show, I am very much annoyed on his disgraceful comments to Ishmit on the day he pereformed last when Ishmit was in tears and could cleare his heart because of the fear that if he says anything on the stage he may not be eliminated by his Guru’s,and even Alka ji also asked him in a taunting way that why Ishmit is crying, Abhijeet said that some unwanted SMS’s were recieved by him and Adesh ji on their mobile from the public, I would like to ask Abhijeet ji that is it the fault of Ishmit, please lert me know.

Phew! It’s becoming more and more difficult to read this blog. There is at least one post where someone is abusing one or other of the participants.
I think that each of the twelve is talented in one way or other, so I think we should focus on their positive points rather than highlight their negative ones.
After all, nobody is perfect, not the participants nor the judges and definitely not us, the bloggers. As they say, people in glasshouses should not throw stones.

Dear Sujatha ji and Shastri ji,
Just now I was reading somewhere that “India is a country where people take sports / or such contests far too seriously whereas they do not take life so seriously”. I am really appalled to see the derogatory comments recently about Toshi and some time back about Abhilasha. Why can’t we stick to the music in this blog? If we really want to give vent to our anger we can do so on Orkut by visiting various hate communities.
Shastri ji has rightly remarked that this blog site is also going the VOI way i.e. becoming stale.
All 12 are good singers (atleast better than most of the bloggers) and they need time for maturity. Among these singers naturally there is a ranking which obviously is quite subjective. Rules once laid down should not change during the course of contest. Or atleast, this should not have been done (wild card entry) when 8 were already eliminated.
If at all Judges feel that due to elimination of a candidate some injustice has happened then they are free to give him / her a chance in bollywood or promote him / her in the music industry. Who is stopping them? Atleast 20 participants must have been noticed by the music big-wigs in these three contests. If they really want to favour them, they must do so in real World.
The comments of Abhijeet towards Ishmeet are obnoxious. My only argument is that it is all to get more TRPs and more SMS from Punjab. If Abhijeet or Adesh really wanted this to be conveyed to Ishmeet, they could have done so privately.
Why they did so, so openly? Abhijeet said so while shooting and Gajendra ji did not edit it, then Star Plus telecasted it for the public. These comments even if shot, could have been deleted at any stage from editing to telecasting.Do people still think that money through the SMS was not the motive??

Mr Jatin don’t you have shame to say urself a musician, if u r a musiciam then it is an insult to the music itself.
By disrespecting Toshi’s voice you have proved that you did,nt know a single bit of music.
This can only be happen when you switched over to some other channel when performances other than Ishmeet are aired.
Ishmeet has a good voice, but if compare his voice with Toshi’s then the result will be crystal clear that Toshi has a depth in his voice, and he can sing all songs extremly good whereas Ishmeet can sings only one genre of songs and that what he is singing throughout.
If you are still in doubt then watch to the performance of Toshi when he sings ‘Piya re’, ‘Kaho na Kaho’, ‘Ye jo sili-sili aundi yeh hawa’ & ‘Yaar ko maine” and compare with the performances by Ishmeet. Ishmeet can only sings Jatin-Lalit type of music.
Mr Jatin you are also not a Punjabi spoken lad that’s why you are criticizing Toshi’s Punjabi songs otherwise you will know that he is perfect in pronunciation of punjabi.
In the end, Mr Jatin please stop writing such derogatory remarks on anyone.

Please read the posts in the episode of 28th Sept. You will then see how many people have objected to the remarks made by Abhijeet against Ishmeet.
If u think the treatment meeted out to Ishmeet by Abhijeet is inhuman, don’t u think u are sinking to his level by calling another person a beggar simply because u don’t like his singing style?
Abhijeet’s remarks, as Rishiji rightly pointed out, are part of a drama, to increase ratings and probably get more votes for Ishmeet but what purpose do your remarks serve except to make for very unpleasant reading and unpleasant retaliation from other bloggers?
Toshi, or other participants, who are being bad mouthed may not be there to read these posts but such comments are certainly very unfair. Please DO refrain from making such remarks. I am sure you are perfectly capable of expressing your views in more polished ways.

I have already said that comments of Abhijeet are obnoxious and pungent.
But people have to realise that this was NOT a live telecast. The telecast was done on friday whereas shooting was done four days before i.e monday.
So there were four days time to edit his remarks. If they still telecasted it, it can’t be without any ulterior motive.

That comment on Toshi’s voice! I had to rub my eyes twice over to believe i was reading it. And this from a supporter of Ishmeet who sang Mai Shayar tho nahin so horribly that Rishi kapoor grabbed the mike and sang infinitely better than Ishmeet. Toshi has never once compromised on his performance. He has always rocked big time.

I feel Arshpreet sang very well and all the guests (who are well known in music industry) liked her singing.
Well regarding voice quality of the singers voice of India has the best, no doubt about it. ALso Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is good and I personally like Aneek, but Harshit also has got a very very good voice with very good singing.
The competition will be with Harshit and Toshi, I bet on this. Just wait and watch.
Regarding Gajendra Singh we are nobody to comment as he has made such a program which has maximum visitors in all forums and discussion group. This is the motto of any director to see his program on the top by any means.

On a serious note, Toshi has a huge fan base, not jut personally saying but from friends and family and ppl who watch the show he has a huge fan, so one disgrantuled fan to Toshi is no big deal..I guess ur not famous till u have one..

Toshi in the finals would be a dream come true so to say…but I dont see him winning it…Im sure Harshit will win..but the more of Toshis singing the better I say..

Jatin: Looks like you’re knowingly criticizing Toshi because you know many others like him, and you’re doing this to get noticed. It’s ok buddy, there are other ways to find gratification than insulting someone by calling them a beggar. The fact that Toshi is from a poor background makes your comment sound especially malicious. But it’s ok, this is a blog, and blogs have people like you in them.
Ishmeet has a good voice, but VOI is supposed to be a program that selects a ‘voice that can sing’. Otherwise, we can call a 100 people and make them talk a paragraph from a book to select a ‘voice’.
Consistency, and singing ability has been visible only in Toshi, Abhas, Irfan and Arshpreet. Everyone else is just below these guys.
Rest everything is just arguments.

If I summon up the journey of eliminations, then I think it’s time for Agni to get back 2 contestants as it would give equal chance to Prithvi and Agni to fight again because no one is concentrating on talent here.
First, they selected six male and six female singers. What a justice for genders!! (Might be a coincidence). Then the eliminations as follows.
1. 1st Elimination from Prithvi – Pranthika (Agni – 6 , Prithvi – 5)
2. 2nd Elimination from Prithvi – Pranthik (Agni – 6 , Prithvi – 4)
3. 3rd Elimination from Agni – Ishpreet (Agni – 5 , Prithvi – 4)
4. 4th Elimination from Agni – Toshi (Agni – 4 , Prithvi – 4)
5. 5th Elimination from Prithvi – Priyani (Agni – 4 , Prithvi – 3)
6. 6th Elimination from Agni – Mirande (Agni – 3 , Prithvi – 3)
7. 7th Elimination from Agni – Abhas (Agni – 2 , Prithvi – 3)
8. 8th Elimination from Agni – Sumitra (Agni – 1 , Prithvi – 3)
Now it’s very easier said than done that Priyani comes back as she belongs to Prithvi and its mentor Alka Yagnik is in full swing to support her favorite Abhilasha. On the other hand, they are left with 3 contenders and Agni has only 1. If this is the case, Toshi and Abhas should come back. It means that there will be 5 male + 1 female contestant carried over.
A very interesting situation created in Agni team. If Toshi and Abhas are back then it would make judge’s life thorny. Lalit supports Harshit, Jatin supports Abhas and public supports Toshi. Who’s gonna be there in finale?? If Toshi does not make it (which I am sure is next to impossible), then its tussle between Harshit, Abhas and Abhilasha. Agni and Neutral mentor will throw out Irfan and Ishmeet (Ishmeet deservingly). According to circumstances, Irfan is the next elimination (which will be very much unfair decision. In my personal opinion, If Ishmeet get eliminated in next episode, then the final 5 contenders wil make finals more interesting. The situation there will be some thing next to a cricket match between Pakistan & India!
There are only 5 episodes left for this show. Next episode on 5th Oct (Friday), there will be no elimination (as shaan said last Friday). So first elimination after wild card round will be on 12th Oct (5 remaining) 19th Oct another one goes (4 remaining), 26th October, another goes (3 remaining). 2nd November, another goes (2 remaining). So finally, on 3rd Nov grand finale, two participants will contest for becoming VOI. I hope to see Toshi in grand finale.
I personally feels that if judges plays a fair game, Toshi should be there on 3rd Nov but apparently there mood is not in favor of Toshi and public has not enough control to make sure that the final verdict is crystal clear.
Therefore, readers, finally Toshi and Abhas will make their grand entries through wild card voting + Judges Veto system. That makes Agni 3 and prithvi 3. Last but not the least, as per the circumstances, its clash between Agni and Prithvi, and sadly not the talent!

I’m always open to positive criticism but I was upset when I read your comments. You have written so much about myself in past few days pointing out my character indirectly. What were the reason behind this?…… Sumitra of course.
Even though I have been writing in the same behavior beforehand but no one pointed out, and I think it was Mr. Niranjan who called me a mature person on reply to his comments when this controversy started and that wasn’t jealousy factor I hope. It was you who started calling my comments tasteless, and wrote that my way of writing speaks about myself? I read your comments previously and had good regards for you, but the way you started analytical comments in the blog got that regards in doubt. You wrote about my comments over Sumitra that how do I raised fingers at her character, and then series of comments full of criticism, but you never mentioned that I did appologised for using wrong words, now If I call you hypocrite, would it be so tasteless because sumitra is your favorite contender, and I’m not writing as per your wishes?
I don’t write here just to get appreciation from others, because there hell lot of other platforms in my life where I can get what I want and that would be much more beneficial for me. It was Toshi’s elimination that brought me to this website and I started writing about him and other participants. Contenders I criticized on this platform, especially Sumitra, because her presence in the show, while Toshi, Ishpreet, priyani and Abhas were out was TOTALLY UNFAIR. People who wrote about Toshi and Priyani did not become millionaire but people who defends Sumitra’s act were just unfair as well. I do not have any personal grudge against this girl, but it this tussle of unfair talent that burned my blood. I could only communicate to reader about my personal opinion but cannot force them to gulp down with pain.
Sumitra was cause of disagreement between 5 jusdges on the last day for finalizing “Bemisaal 12” and now I think same is the case with you and me.
Rishi, each human being as his/her own school of thought and at the end of the day winner is the one who fights for justice. You can’t force me to write as per your wishes and neither can I.
I did mention in my earlier post that let’s talk about music, talent and other positive stuff instead of criticising each others favorite participants.
Last but not the least I would personally appologise if I’d hurt your PERSONAL FEELINGS only, and if that is correct, it was not deliberate, but my stance about sumitra is very much clear.

My humble request to Mr. Jatin (who cricised Toshi) is to listen to the song “Teri Deewani”, both versions. I mean original sung by Kailash Khair and then by Toshi in VOI.
If you find any positive difference, then you should apologies to Toshi, and if not, then please refrain for using so harsh words about rare talent like Toshi.

I hope Priyani and Toshi should be there in the wild card entry not even Abbhas i don’t like his voice he has to passed through a long distance to be VOI.
He is only 17 and i find him very immature in singing. But besides my this opinion he sang well last week (Satyam Shivim Sundaraum) a beautiful song sung by Lata Ji.
Priyani got a origional Vioce. Toshi is also a great singer as he said he was singing in a bar.
I stornly recommend that Toshi and Priyani would get this chance.
As for as Ishmeet is concerned he got a God giffted Voice and singing talent. HE must learn Music if he has to survive in Singing. He must be Eliminated in next Episode.(as my opinion)
Irfan: Yaar ye banda tu hai hi kamal. He got a beautiful play back singer Voice.
Abhilasha: she is only Alka’s favourite i dont wanna see her in the Finale.
Harshit. Jatin’s Favourite and family dramatical person but telented. he will eliminated in 3rd or 4th round(Episode).
Now the Final Results Toshi Irfan And Priyani.
I wish 3 of them the BESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST Wissssssssssshes to be VOI.

Dear Friend Ateeq,
First of all, again I thank you for taking my comments in the right spirit. Infact let me clear this, Sumitra is not my VOI either. This, I wrote earlier also somewhere in this blog only. For me too, Toshi is the best singer and his elimination disturbed me as well. But, then rules are rules and they should not be changed during the course of the contest regardless of what people like me or you (both like Toshi), think.
Now regarding my first post addressed to you, I had written that I agree to whatever you said except the terse remarks (on the basis of hearsay) about Sumitra (or as a matter of fact any girl). Otherwise in that post I had appreciated your views. Well! I have many times said that each one has his / her favourite. So, if you are not writing according to my wishes (for a contestant) then believe me surely I am the last person to get agitated over this.
It is really nice of you and I would say a gentlemanly act that you have apologised for unintentionly hurting me. If you had already apologised earlier, I am sorry to say that may be I missed to read that post. Anyway, let us forget it and express our comments in a better way so as not to leave any ambiguity which can lead to confusions. None of us is becoming a millionaire by writing all these things. Because you said I am being paid for writing about her, I retaliated. I also might have caused you some hurt feelings and I too apologise to you for that.
Ateeq, I never address my posts personally to anybody by writing Dear so and so… until I feel that the person is really sensible.
If I have addressed to you personally (Dear Ateeq) and some other people in this blog e.g. Shastri ji, Sujatha ji, Niranjan ji, Surekha ji, John ji, then it is because I like the thoughts of you and these people on music(does not matter who your favourite is).

They should recognise the genuine talent Ishmeet has and not run him down just because he is not trained in classical music and comes from a community that many people dont like.

Everyone this is the first time I am writing in star voi. For last 2 weeks when ever I got time read all the msgs send by u all. For me “To be or not to be STARVOI has got the best bunch of upcoming talented singers”.
I have seen lots of this singing talent hunt program for last so many years, but honestly I hadn’t seen so many talented singer in one program from what ever small knowledge I have in singing.
After viewing this program for last so many weeks I came to the conclusion that Mr.Gajji missed a small piece named TRP by trying to be fair. If u see SA RE GA MA PA the director out there very cleverly kept Anik, Raja & Amanat till last for better TRP by what means u all very well know.
Wild card or no wild card the ultimate is that the best shall win who has – wide range of variation, great voice quality, good singing knowledge & last but not the least who can reach the heart of the nation with his or her voice.
So let us join our hand friends and vote for who has all this quality rather than our personal favourites.
Lastly, I still believe audience is not the best judge for selecting a singer. Bcoz I believe only 5 to 10 % who vote has a proper knowledge of singing. So my suggestion is to make this selection and elimination process 50 – 50 (i.e., 50% audience voting and 50% judges points )and if possible a neutral judge to get the final out come of this 50 – 50 process.

Abhijit is a sick man.I totally condemn the act done by him against Ishmeet in last episode. LOOK GUYS, These people who are sitting as jury are worth of any penny today. They are only making money by doing stage shows, reality shows & sopmehow managing their households. They are like puppets as whatever channel says ,they do, no matter if sentiments of any contestant or audience are hurted, it doesn’t bother them. They hv to make money 4 themselves & the channel who is paying them.
I hv seen so many blogs… can anybody tell me what volume of work these so called judges possess today?
I mean, in hw many films, Mr Abhijit & Ms Alka Yagnik are singing & In how many films, the music is of Mr Adesh Srivastava or Jatin-Lalit?
Can somebody tell me? If you search… you will find that all of them are jobless having no songs or films in their hand…. & all the market has been captured by young music directors & singers…. all of you know the names of today’s leading music directors & singers.
So, all of this mockery is being done for their bread n butter & nothing else….

Ishmeet is a good singer and that is why he is in final 12. It is just a matter of difference in chemistry of singing. Jatin, one question…why are you bent on bringing community into the picture? I dont thinking anyone on this blog has brought up what community Ishmeet belongs to, they have just voiced how they think Toshi as a singer is more rounded and trained than Ishmeet is. And I definitely don’t see where anyone has mentioned dislike about the particular community. Why we as Indians always have to breakdown things in terms of religion, states, community or even gender…lets stand up and think as Indians for a change…not even male or female…why give undue advantage to a participant just because the participant is a “female”. At the end of it you are judging by specific criteria which every singer…..whether male or female, Hindu or musim..or even a Bengali or Punjabi has to satify.
Ishmeet definitely has a voice which is humbling, sounds down to earth and very is full of mithaas…but if you think about it, it’s a voice that sounds good in Karan Johar type of movie…it suits specific lover boy type of songs…definitely do well if ALL movies made were those type…When you consider Toshi’s efforts, he has displayed mastery over skills required to sing different genres of songs…

hi friends,
its been two weeks since i have been reading your posts. Actually I started reading it after watching the show on 28th September. So far, majority of the people writing in the blogs over here have been sensible and careful with their words.
Now I would just like to say one thing. This show started with a good intention at getting a credible singer for SVOI and even the judges were going about their job impartially. But after the final 12 were selected, they were divided into two teams i.e. Agni & Prithvi. Now this is where the problem started initially becase the two teams started indulging in one upmanship and the public reacts to many things that are said on live television. Add to that, we have a system of voting out the contestants. Therefore what one sees and hears on television has an outcome on the decision of one’s vote which sometimes result in a deserving candidate getting voted out early.
So for all these weeks we have seen a lot of drama happening in this show. And what I saw in last night’s show has made me give ZERO points on the very credibility of this show. A wild card entry is supposed to be given to only ONE person but now we have THREE contestants ruling the roost thanks to the partiality shown by the judges of this show.
Do you think it is fair to the TOP FOUR contestants? I don’t think so.
These contestants have been brought in so that singers like Irfan, Ishmeet & maybe even Abhilasha are voted out. Because the mindset of the judges is that tip three should be Toshi, Abhaas & Harshit. I maybe wrong, but gathering what i have seen in the last few episodes, I can only come to this conclusion. So why have the system of public voting when the judges are given a full hand to manipulate the results? This really sucks !!!
Last but not the least is that I am a little amused at bringing “Daler Mehndi” as a guest for Saturday night’s episode. Even though I might be sounding too far fetched, I personally think that bringing him on the show is more of a damage control exercise undertaken by the producer of this show because of the “communal comments”, one of our esteemed judges had made to a contestant on this show (if you know what I mean)

I am very happy to see Toshi’s selection in yesterdays VOI show. Toshi really performed very well and he was the limelight in this show. What a rocking performance. And did u see the Panwala Harshit singing, man he was spoiling the song, cannot say hindi words properly and was singing like reading a poem. If u had seen his face, he was very sad and disappointed because he came to know his is no match to Toshi’s singing, he realised this only when he sing the same song with Toshi.
I and all Toshi fans wishes all the best to Toshi.
In everyone’s comment in yesterday’s show it showed that people like Toshi than other contestants.
Lets hope the Agni judges does not play politics again on Toshi and eliminate Toshi and spoil the show again.
And regarding Jatin and Ankur comments I would say the Baburao dialog from the movie.

This is a great show. No matter what people say. The problem is of plenty. It is way above Indian Idol. Even the poorest of the final twelve is good enough to be a playback singer. So eleminating anyone seems very harsh.
We all know how good Harshit, Toshi and Abhas are. To me these three are the ultimate winners no matter who becomes the VOI.
Ashpreet is very talented and beautiful. She can easily be a heroine who can sing her own songs.
The only blotch is Aadesh Srivastava whose comments are immature and show his lack of music sense. Alka is the best judge and Abhijeet is very fair too. Abhilasha is the cutest and Sumitra rocks. But be careful about the dark horse Irfan who is a great singer in his own right.
I never miss any episode. I just love it.

StarVOI is not a reality show but it is a cruelity show in which the contestant is talent is crushed by the so called judges Jatin-Lalit, Adesh Sirivastava,Alka Yagnik and Abhijeet and the director Gajji ji, who himself is not clear in his mind that what he wants.The enforcement of “Wild Card Entry” at that stage when 80% contest was complete, where four contestant Irfan, Ishmeet, Abhilasha and Harshit were selected by public as top four,by judges, only to bring in Toshi(who is a beggar singer)and Abhaas(whose voice is still immatured),played a game to make fool of Public by bringing in six contestants by means of WCE and Veeto power(for Abhaas)and select two, then why Veeto power was again used to bring in the third contestant Priyaani, is it fair? Public very much understands that Judges and the Director has been bribed by ToshiandAbhaas,this is 100%pucca.

whenever I am free I read these comments coz I love music and admire talented singers and VOI has a horde of them, you will agree. But I do so hate to see the singers put down by some of u in these blogs. Come on, they all are talented in their own way. Imagine, to reach the final 12 of an all India talent hunt is no picnic. The fact that they are there, proves their worth. So why dont we all encourage them, sans the community, caste, creed and looks? What make any of us such good judges of their talent? Let them make their own destiny and let the best man win!

I agree with you Asha. There is a plenty of talent. See, when you hear the recorded songs of the hindi films, they are done after so many retakes and parts. Singing live is extremely difficult and that too for so many weeks at a stretch. You can see that Harshit and Abhilasha have lost some steam. But they are all very good singers.
Toshi is above the contest. He is a new find of Hindi cinema and would go a long way. Even Abhaas is a prodigy. The eliminated Sumitra had a great presence. Everyone is good in his/her own right but each person’s voice suits certain kind of songs. For example, Abhilasha’s ” tu chanda..” suits her more than anyone else. Toshi excels in sufi and semi classical while Irfaan would suit “Metro” kind of songs.
They are all voices of India. The title would go to the person who chooses to sing the song that suits his/her voice.

First of all i agree with many that Toashi and Abbhas were the best in the wild cards entry. Priyani is an extra at the moment on the show. But i do not understand why do people say that Toshi deserves to BE THE VOI. It means that Toshi sings better than Harshit and Abbhas. If that the case then i think we are fooling ourselves. There is no doubt that Toshi is a very good singer but he’s not better that Abbhas and Harshit. Abbhas at his age is sheer magic. Harshit has shown his versatility. Whereas Toshi has stuck to the same sargam and punjabi/folk songs in majority.
Well the show is still going strong in Pakistan. Lets wait and watch and hopr that the best man wins.

As many of you have remarked, this show has degenerated into more of showmanship than finding real talent.
All singers have talent and do well on their genre, however, there is only one wholesome talent i.e. Abhas.
Toshi is overhyped for whatever reason and needs to be thrown out immediately.
The treatment given to Sumithra Iyer was pathetic. She should have been asked to stay on along with Abhilasha.
Harishit is getting montonous with little variation and Ishmeet never proved his vocal range.
As for others less said the better.

This is for all those who oppose PRIYANI,
I have been watching this show from the time it has started; I too was thrilled by the performance og TOSHI and ABHILASHA, but the way PRIYANI made her place was amazing. Toughest songs and full confidence led the way. I have won’t be surprised if she would come back and reach top 3.
TOSHI is a gud singer, but he does a lot of modulation which are sometimes gud, but most of the times it spoils original €composition. Over doing anything is more dangerous. Also he has one style of singing. I don’t think he should be in the show now. you remember there was a guy DIAS who was not sulected in final 12 coz all his songs were of same kind.SAme was with ARSHPREET
Abhas is gud singer and versetile too.

Maam u hv mentioned why i brought up the community issue, Maam I hv been writing to this blog only after seeing the 28th September episode. I was flabbergasted by the insulting remarks Abhijeet hurled on Ishmeet.
Though i am not a Sikh, I was shocked at the communal treatment being meted to Ishmeet. hence i have raised my voice via this blog.
And Maam its Abhijeet not me who has raised the communal issue.

We are voting the singer by SMS which cost to use. Using wild card entry, it’s wastage of our money which we used to promote our popular singer to next round. Indian people do understand who sings better. I feel it’s just like adding some episodes to earn money. Star VOI talks about the wild card entry but those who spent money to sms, wht’s about that, they neeed to refund those money too for those episodes where 3 wildcard entries are out. We understand 2 singer.. they sing very well.. but about priyani… I feel, ashpreet sings much better. I guess this wide card entries insulted other who worked hard to get into top 5. I appeal to all indian viewer to stop voting for this program.

It is very sad that SOUMITRA IS ELIMINATED But i still think she is good stuff for the final stages. She has an excellent voice and the way she can change her ton is marvellous. However this is not the end of the road.There is still aot of opportuninities for her and i am sure she will be a talented singer if she continues to participate in this field. I think slowly we are loosing our interest/trust on VOI as good voices are getting eliminated, for example Arshpreet , Abhilasha, where as Priyani came back after she was finally eliminated. Again there is a loophole, two will be coming by the wild card entry but three are there and for sure, for one of them other is getting eliminated who has to get eliminated. If this show is building someone’s career, I think then rule should get more importance than emotion.
Anyway, my favorite is Harshit and I wish him all the best from bottom of my heart. He is a most versatile singer in VOI show right now.
