Gajendra singh thinks indian audience has room temperature IQ. the oct 13 program was completely a set back to live singing. all the songs were pre-recorded with contestants and judges. their voices sounded clearly studio recorded and clearly gave it away. in china, lip synching is a punishable offense. i hope they bring it in india too and stop fooling people. this contest stinks of politics, poor management, badly staged drama, insincerity to music, contestants, and sheer threat to reality show staying power…what is shaan doing on a show like this..please let sanctity prevail…

to be a good singer in any type of music.. other than metal, death metal, and other hard rock songs you need to have good hold in classical singing… as classical singing increases the range of a singer… that is they can both sing high and low notes…. sometimes it is even harder to sing the low notes of a song were there is sudden change in the notes of a song, i.e. high to low…
toshi has proved it many times that he is superb in singing those songs…
another thing i must point out… every contestant in a talent hunt show tries his best to prove that he is good… that is why they pick the toughest songs that they can sing…
qawalis, gazals, classicals, are the most difficult songs to sing, as Toshi is very much able to sing those songs and prove it to the people, why should he go for the easier ones.
People please vote for Toshi.

I agree with Jatin…Ishmeet has a true melodious voice gifted by GOD & he is quite an innocent boy. At least, he deserves some appreciation for his singing.
Secondly, I agree with Pradeep, what he has written is completely true…. I saw a blog a couple of days back, i don’t want to mention but is was totally communal.
I don’t like this type of human worship. See all my friends, This is all drama… life is not so easy as you ppl think… this drama being played by judges specially abhijit after elimination of Toshi, drama of adopting toshi as his son is totally natakbazi & audience is quite matured that these judges are doing what the channel & producers want, they are all fighting for their bread n butter, what can they provide to these poor contestans… copntestants are behaving like puppets so stressed n demoralised as they are saying..” ab dekho, channel wale kaun sa drama karne ko kehte hain aur age is show ki TRP badhane ke liye kya kya karna parega” as it is quite evident now that they hv nothing to do with real talent hunt.
Guys n gals, this is a 15 minutes fame 4 the winner, no matter who wins….. but he or she has a long journey to perform n a tough struggle to be done after winning this VOI title….believe me only 2 -3 singers till now from these shows hv been succesfull in induster & remaining all…… lost in the crowd of Mumbai….

Among all the constestants TOSHI is as good in fast track songs as anyone with him on the bunch witout any doubt. TOSHI voice and singing ability is not comparable with the present lot although there is no doubt all constestants have good voice but when we compare singers in a contest, the result is based on the singing quality which doest not only include good voice but it also includes who effectively a singer engages audience to his singing. TOSHI has got far far better impecable voice as well as sining quality than others.

The whole show was going very good. At the end, unnecessary propaganda of SVOI and cursing SRGMP indirectly made the crap again. Why Mr. Gajendra Singh? You lost to SRGMP – just accept it. Now, try to make this one a success without comparing to anything else but yourself. You are a good producer and you have the capability to make it a success. So, please do that. I am telling again, we want to listen good music, not craps of Abhijeet, Adesh and others. Shiney Ahuja also had to make some silly comments about SRGMP (by saying it “Noise of India”. it appears that so far as talent hunting is concerned this voting system is killing all these shows. in indian idol amit paul deserved to win… in saregamapa amanat was clearly the best but… so this starvoi will also see the same result. those who are real talented will get eliminated and only a marginal candidate will win.
so folks, let’s forget about the best talent and so on and enjoy the episodes as far as possible.

These judges are such hypocrits. the very fact that they keep on comparing their show with sa re ga ma pa shows that they have inferority complex and they dont stand up to them. we never see judges in sa re ga ma talking about voice of india. that is because they dont need to care. and these judges say ki is show main bahut sachai hai. what a joke!!! they pre-record songs and present on as if they are sung live. alka yagnik and shaan are only two right people in thois show. rest of them are workless frustrated people. i think they better concentrate on their show and make it good. sa re ga ma pa is much better right now

You are right.. Gaj ji has lost it this time.. after such a fantabulaous episode with Rani Mukherjee telecast on Friday, they put up such a fake episode the very next day and expect us to lap it all up in the name of Reality!!
Not all are sentimental fools to be unable to see thru’ the illusion that they create..
A pre-recorded 1st half with no Aadesh or musicians (except for Toshi-Aadesh combo song- which was evidently shot with the 2nd half)
A 2nd half with the solos of the contestants’ best performances- which had Aadesh as the only judge- but, yet, they show amazed expressions of the other 4 mentors and Shiney Ahuja-(obviously copied n pasted later) with Alkaji shown clapping in the middle of Irfan’s “In dino”, Abhilasha sitting with the other contestants (supposedly much after her elimination?) seen clearly towards the end of Ishmeet’s “Bheege honth” song..
Comments added to the end of Priyani’s 2nd song- on VOI being an honest and sincere show can’t be digested after watching all this drama..
Also, the final group performance on the Bhool bhulaiyya song with Shiney appearing and disappearing on stage!!!
Such bad editing coming from such an experienced and seasoned maker of Talent hunt shows – where is the perfection and credibility Gaj ji?? Fake it.. but fake it well.. spend more time on editing..
The time has come – to “watch” SVOI with eyes closed !! But watch it, we must- ‘coz, this is where the future of the music industry lies.. in the talented contestants-the remaining and the eliminated ones..

Hi,
Just finished watching the two episodes. I must say that although I do not like Abhilasha’s usual performances, I really enjoyed her peformance with Priyani – Chalka Chalka re. Both sang really well and I think this was the best duet song in this episode. Well done Abhilasha, you left on a good note.
Secondly the notable thing in this episode was Abhijeet apologising to Ishmeet. More so, I was really proud of the way Ishmeet handled that apology. That really put Abhijeet’s erratic behaviour into perspective, into context. Well done Ishmeet. Ishmeet has a good voice and sings simple songs very well, however, he , by his own admission has said that he just started learning music and has a long way to go. He cannot sing difficult parts of the song – even some tricky parts in Jab Se Tera Naina- he left Shaan to sing that, as we all know he cannot sing it. I think he has gone far enough in this contest.
Harshit’s performance with Irfan was very poor. Lately I am begining to like Irfan. He is way better than Harshit. I noticed this during Harshit’s performance with Toshi a few episodes ago (some one else noticed this too on this blog) and I saw this in his today’s performance with Irfan too – a sense of inferiority complex. For some reason (known to himself) Harshit becomes extremely conscious of Toshi and Irfan as if he fears that his faults will be exposed. I dont think he is VOI material.
As of now, I think Toshi, Irfan and Abhas/ Priyani should be in top 3. However as this show is a Lotto gamble (interspersed with random rule changes) it is quite likely that Ishmeet or Harshit will win.
Quite sad if that happens
Anway, for all that is good, I really enjoyed this Rani Mukherjee episode. I think her simplicity has rubbed off very well on this show. I wish more judges could emanate such an aura as she did. The whole show was so enjoyable and memorable. I am sure it will be memorable more so for all the participants. Hats off to you Rani. Stay as you are – you are a real joy to watch – great human being.

I think Shiney Ahuja was referring to Indian Idol as Noise of India. Sa Re Ga ma is quite Ok programme.
After all Gajji is the producer of that programme. Now Shiney cannot speak against another programme of Gajji.
In fact he was right in a way. the Indian Idol final was really Noise of india.

While watching yesterday’s show, it looked like I’m watching NB3, or some other dance show. It’s good that they performed well, but it should have been a live performance (not pre recorded). I’m not sure, but I feel that there is Sense of euphoria among judges now, especially when Sa Re Ga Ma show is over. Now VOI is the only show running live in the media. The way they criticized other shows is basically reflects VOI’s Own reflection. Abhijeet comments were nothing more than a joke, that they are the only show that has chosen PURE talent and working hard on PURE TALENT. Come-on man, give me a break!! Everyone knows status of VOI these days. I like the way mentors of Sa re ga ma trained their participants. I was very surprised to see Jatin Lalit’s elation. He should realize by know that he is a neutral judge and his job is to judge the talent irrespective of the team he/she belongs to, and on top of that emphatically.
Abhilasha, who was apparently winner among the female contestants, has actually been eliminated due forced wild card entry of Priyani. I mean, Priyani is not a bad singer at all, but Abhilasha has a different class and that an injustice with Abhilasha. No matter she was too young to be in this contest. Invisible voting format of this show has once again ended in giving unfair decision. But hats of to her on her mature response against the eleimination. So far, by far most mature response has been shown by Abhilasha on eliminations.
Shows like this becomes successful only if they uphold talent, but VOI is endorsing commercialism, and in return, this show is leaving negative impression on viewer’s mind. I think Director of the show still has time to promote the TALENT, if they really want to do.

I think irfan and harshit will be in top 3. i don’t know whether abhaas or toshi will make it in top3. Abhaas has to mature as a singer he sings classical well but the lighter stuff and others he is not able to perform well as he is not happy to come out of classical mould. Toshi is good in sufi style but other i haven’t seen much it will be intersting to see how this guys sings a ghazal something. I like irfan for his versatility and range. Harshit is good with romantic soft songs i was surprise with hare raam hare song though would like to see more range of songs he can sing. However in VOI most of the participant especailly male voice i except Irfan have tried to stick to his way of singing songs rather than been verstatile. So more me IRfan should be VOI.
Though the participant have been good and humble in their approach and are very likeable through their behaviour Unfortunately the judge are partial, irritating, over doing there bit especially Jatin he seem to like Abhaas so much that he discremate all other very ruthlessly. Other judges too are overreacting and making unnessecary comment THe NOISE OF INDIA should be given to the judges of AMUL STAR VOI. No one deserve more than these bunch of jokers

If you have not seen all Toshi’s songs then u should not say he is good only in Sufi style, next time u put ur comments pls. check the online videos or audios of Toshi and comment on him.
U mentioned that Toshi cannot sing many types of songs …
You should know that:
Toshi has sung all kind of songs right from
Piya re (Lets say a Qawali)
to Sili Sili Hawa (say a folk)
Specially during this song all people were almost in tears. The guests also said that the way Toshi sing the song it was touching their heart and she wanted to cry.
And the other songs are
to Saqi (An Item Song)
to Yaar ko Maine Mujhe yaar ne sone na diya (A Film Song)
to Lagan Lagi (A Gazal)
and all to the perfection
and if I include “Teri Diwani” (A Classical – he sang it better than original as mentioned by none other than Jagjit Singh).
He is definitely a fantastic singer and he has shown all the Jauners of singing.
He deserves to be the VOICE of INDIA

Dear Friends,
This is the first post of mine in this great forum. I am a great fan of SVOI. Because it’s a real entertaining program. But sometimes I become confused that really SVOI is a talent hunting program or a commercial entertaining program. There is an another big problem of such shows (Also Sare Ga Ma Pa, Indian Idol)result depends on people’s votes. Which shouldn’t be. Then what is the necessity of judges out there if all depends on peoples votes. What horrible things happened regarding this we already found in Indian Idol & Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Grand Finals). I was very much shocked when Prashant became Indian Idol while Amit not. Amit was much telanted & better singer than Prashant. Even Prashant should eliminated long before compare to
others (Chang, Emon, Ankita, Parveen). More horrible things happened at Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. When Anik Dhaur Became the first champ while Raza deserved to be and he must. But all things happened only for peoples emotions & lack of knowledge. But I really don’t want to see the same things
at Voice of India as this is my favorite program among them. My request is to rule such this way, the results should happened on 50% votes from the judges & the 50% votes counted from peoples. I don’t know why Ishmeet is still in the contest while others are much much better than him. Ishmeet is still there on for peoples emotions which should not be in such programs. According to me if the 3 finalists should be in SVOI they are undoubtedly:
1. Toshi
2. Harshit
3. Irfan
And among them the singer who mostly deserve to be no. 1 is Toshi. Toshi is such a singer who rarely founds. But I don’t know what will happened. I hope this time the great people of India will be more concern & will vote for the best one (After watching what they did at Indian Idol & Sa Re Ga Ma Pa).

Who is this Shiny Ahuja ?? What he knows about music its really a stupidity to call celebrities who dont know music. They should come just as a show piece, encourage the participants but they have no right to coment on other similar programs. SA RE GA MA was doubtlessly high quality musical talent hunt program than SVOI. Presentations from Amanat Ali, Raja Hasan, Aneek Dhar, Poonam, Sumedha were lot off impressive than “TOSHI, IRFAN, ABHILASHA,PRIYANI,ESMIT,HARSHIT” etc. At least music lovers and persons who feel the real music will agree this. Unfortunately in this forum fight became communal. Also why blogers are trying to prove the best program between ‘SVOI & SA RE GA MA” ?? Due to lot of “Nautanki” and “Natakbazi” “Rona Dhona” Wild Card Entries……SVOI already lost their standard. Trully saying none from remainning participants are having talents to be VOICE OF INDIA and this bitter truth has to be accepted. PATA NAHI AUR KYA KYA KARNAME HONGE

Irfan is the best. His voice is so nice. I think we should vote for him to come out from chakarvad position. Anyone noticed that in the last episode, he was a bit confused and sad, did’nt take part in anything. Anyways he is a great singer and in my opinion he should be in top three. I am proud of Abhilasha, people talk about her maturity all the time. Look at her exit, she was undoubtedly mature and she did well. DO not give up Abhilash, u r good and will get success. Do not worry about criticism. I really feel Toshi shoud go now. Shame on him no reaction during elimination. I really do not understand how a person is so shamful and not care for others at all.

I want to request Gajj Ji to immediately stop Peoples voting system otherwise Belive it or not Like Prashant of Indian Idol, the weakest contestant of SVOI (Definitely Ishmeet) will become SVOI. If such things happened then I will stop watching SVOI for ever. Because Ishmeet don’t deserve it. Even sorry to say that, Ishmeet doesn’t deserve to be among 8. But only for people’s emotions & lack of knowledge in music Bring Ishmeet this far. Still now my favorite 3 finalists are:

If your is heart is true & if you side all of your emotions then you will also find that Ishmeet is the weakest contestant of SVOI. Read my commnets properly. I never said that Ishmit is better singer, but u can not ignore his voice quality. I just have the objection do not criticise other singer and just over hipe/overrate Toshi. In my opionion, Harshit..Priyani..Irfan will become famous singer. For the sure Toshi no body will know. Ishmeet is a good singer, if you listen to his song from the parents special, there is talent in his voice, I agree there are a fewer other singers better than him but he does have a good voice. The problem is everyone think harshit has a good voice but really his voice is not that great. He is not a versatile singer at all. He follows the song without adding his own quality to it. Anyway now that Toshi is back and holding the top votes..harshit should be trying harder to hold his place on VOI.

1. Toshi is one of the best singer of SVOI. Do you think the same?

For the first time I think Ishmeet sang really very well with Shaan. Agreed he could not take certain “LAI” as did Shaan. But his voice in this song really touched me.
Toshi was fantastic as usual – certain sargam he took as Nusrat
Fateh Ali Khan saab use to take.
Harashit was good but needs to put his own style rather than copying.
Irfan rocked – Original as ever.
Ishmeet – Really touching.
Abhaas – not this time.
Priyani- alright – needs improvement.

I should mention one thing. Ishmeet though i like his voice, but he is not at all “VOICE OF INDIA”
To become the VOICE OF INDIA, with voice one should have the knowledge and should be able to sing any kind of songs and to my knowledge – a bit of music that I have – TOSHI has what it takes to become the VOICE OF INDIA on an International Level- FULL STOP.

Get 1 thing straight, this not a classical singing show or Sur samrat show.
This is voice of India, the person who has the sweetest voice and who sings the song well will win here.
Ishmeet is doing only that.

Well all this talk about who is good and who is not, In my opinion the original Bemisaal Baarah is Bemisaal in itself. Now the game of Gajj is to make money on the emotions of the audiences. In such a competition there can never be only one best singer because all are of different types of singers and all the 12 singers were good. Talking about Toshi I think he is overrated and he is using emotional tactics to gain votes ” please mujhe us jagaah par fir se nahi jaana” although he is right but he does not need to keep on saying that every time just to get votes. This whole voting thing is just a game and we as audiences are getting emotional fighting among one another.

I,m frm Pakistan.I,m the biggest fan of Priyani and consider her more competent and talented as compared to Hirshit,Ishmit,Rahul Vidya,Toshi and other contestents.However sumitra and Abhilasha are also oustanding singers.These female singers have proved that they are not inferior as compared to male singers in performance but equaly competent and much better but unfortunately in our society vote bank for females is not satisfactory.Especially Priyani is the most powerful singer and she will be the true asset for bollywood.Priyani,Abhilasha and Sumitra sh,ld be given chance in films for play back singing as these girls are not only popular in India but in Pakistan as Well.
I wish them success for the future.
