Sometimes I think I am such an intelligent guy, but the bloggers here dont appreciate my comments.
Most of the things I said r coming true.
I predicted about Abhilasha & Priyani. I also said Irfan is going to suffer with the return of Toshi.

One suggestion to you my friend, stop bad-mouthing about Ishmeet, if you really want to defeat him. By writing silly comments about him, you provoke his supporters even more. hence he gets even more votes. If Ishmeet reaches final 3, that alone will be a big victory for him.
If he wins the VOI- that would be Sone Pe Suhaga.

I can’t believe that IRFAN is eliminated. He was a fantastic singer but unfortunately public did’nt support him. I think there shoulb be another WILD CARD ENTRY for IRFAN AND ABHILASHA. Both were in top 4. They should come back because rules r for everyone not for some people.
IRFAN PLZ COME BACK THROUGH WILD CARD. U R ALSO ONE OF THE CONTESTENTS, AND IN VOI EVERY CONTESTENT HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS.

I think you are the happiest person in the world that the weakest contestant of this show i in now final 4. Jatin, I always said that Ishmeet is a good singer, but there are also millions of singers like Ishmeet in Sub continent. Thats why he is not so special for this type of show. But now I 100% believe that there is a 90% chance for Ishmeet to become SVOI not only for peoples emotions but also Judges & show director’s Vote manipulations. Don’t know why, but I already feeling sorry for Toshi, Harshit or Abhaas.

It is really strange that Ishmeet was 100% safe after his dismal performance in last round. I think his supporters are extremly loyal to him. Harshit also benifited from his loyal supporters when he forgot the lyrics of two songs in the same program few episodes ago.
Since Ishmit survied last episode, I feel either Ishmeet or Harshit will be the champion. Loyal following will triumph over performance.

hi every 1,
i know that there is going to be only one winner in every contest and every one else has to be eliminated one by one. so it is quite natural for any one getting eliminated, as all the singers are talnted in a way or another and thats why they have survived this long. therfore it is not the elimination which is shocking, rather it is the sequence of elimination which hurts.
i was sad when toshi was eliminated before singers who were less compitent then him, i was sad when the same happende with Abhaas ad Arshpreet. but i was never this sad. Irfan’s elimination at this stage is not justifiable from any angle. he has never performed below average (all the others have had atleast one performance where he/ she performed below average). he has never forgotten his lyrics. he has attempted songs which were extremely difficutl to sing and he sang them brilliantly (for example ALVIDA, LUKA CHUPI BUHAT HU, LAGA CHUNRI MEIN DAAGH and HAJI ALI etc.) and he has given us a wide range of songs proving that he can sing ever type of songs. he had an original voice and he always worked hard on his performances.
i’m really very sad. i dont need to offend anyone, but at this stage of the competition, there is no need of anyone being favortie or not. it should be only about the way someone has performed. and from last few episodes, HARSHIT and ISHMEET have been performing lesser than the other three. i’m not saying that HARSHIT or ISHMEET performed bad, but their performances were lesser than those of IRFAN, ABHAAS and TOSHI. anyone who knows music, should agree with me (keeping personal likes or dislikes aside). i have always been a fan of HARSHIT’s but i feel that he should’ve been elliminated at this stage, as when you come this close to the final, you are bound to have only the best singers left in the cometition, and all you have to focus is on their comperative performances.
this is really tragic that IRFAN’s ellimination has come on a week where his performance was undoubtedly one of the best. i always had a feeling that he’ll be elliminated before the finals, but not at this stage. he should’ve been there in the top 4 atleast if not top 3. but what can we say. tough luck irfan. my heart goes out to you as your performances were evident of your honesty and dedication to music. may Allah bless you with succes in your life.
i’ll keep on watching the show till the very end, but i’ll really miss irfan.

It seems that VOI is going the way of Indian Idol and Saregamapa. The contestent with biggest lobby group or vote bank will win. The Sikh/Punjabi vote bank will help Ishmeet the Star VOI champion.

I am extremely shocked to hear tat Irfan has been eliminated he has by far been the best singer as far as i know. He was in the Top 4 and thanks to the wild card now he is gone.Wen i read tat Irfan, Harshit & Abhaas are in bottom three it was sort of expected tat Irfan will be eliminated as the other two are fav’s of the judges.Its a pity tat Irfan inspite of singing so well n good he wasnt fav of any judge. I personally felt it should be Harshit who should have been eliminated Harshit is more like mimicry artist who copies ppl he lacks originality in his singing if not for his Dhadi sentiment will Lalit throws out every show he wouldnt have come this far. I am not saying he is bad but compared to Irfan Irfan is better. I was hoping Harshit or Ishmeet will go but Irfan totally unexpected.

This is very sad..Irfan is not only talented but has a true love for this profession. I think that now this show is not a talent hunt but just another Drama on Star Plus. I am sorry to say that even this day and age in India ..you win because of your religion base and not because of your talent…very sorry if i affended anyone..but this is the way it is and I think that we will always be backwords.

I do agree with most of your comments.
Irfan was just another version of Toshi and Toshi being stronger, survived. Toshi’s entry got Irfan out.
I still think that Ishmeet sings direct from the heart and his voice is sweet.And the way judges behave with him,make his supporters more and more loyal to him.Infact I didnt expect Ishmeet to sing well in the last episode of Qawaali which seemed to be organised to put him down but he did a wonderful job. His was above expectations though the judges were critical as usual.Ishmeet will surely go a long way!!!
And I am glad to see that atleast SVOI organisers are not rigging the votes as the judges want.

Ishmeet is Abhijeet’s and Alka’s last contestant in SVOI and their only hope!!Serves Abhijeet right for his disgusting behaviour promoting religious divide.
I feel bad for Irfan’s spirit but wildcard was going lead to this.
Toshi is the favourite but Ishmeet’s sincerity and simplicity should take him far.

I dont think its fair to make a comment to points to Toshi being the reason that Irfan is out..TOSHI WAS EXITED COZ HE WAS THE FAVOURITE AND THEN BOUGHT BACK.. MORE MONEY MORE SMS…:S..why cant ppl understand the complexcity of this show…I dont think this elimination was real so its unfair to say that.
I dont think ppl should boast abt them watching the show more closely then others…I think everyone does watch it with the 2 eyes we all have..we who do watch the show really closely understand what is happening and are spending our brain in oher areas of our lives, e.g work etc etc I dont think the world revolves around the show !!!

I would be the happiest person on earth.
Hey its real real unfair. How come people be so deaf in voting. Irfan is the real VOI. He never gave any bad performances.
I think Gaji needs to think of this voting system
I am really crossed with the people in India who still believes in regional and communal feelings.
If this result is true I think this will be the end of VOI for me!

I am astonished to see comments like Irfan lost the competion because of his religon. I believe him and Ishmit came this far just because of their religon. People are complaining that Harshit forgot his lyrics in one episode, How about Toshi?. He was out of competition but still got a second chance. Toshi can only sing kawali’s and sufi kind of songs. He isn’t a versatile singer like Harshit. It’s only fair that Harshit, Toshi and Abhass stay in the final 3 and let lataji decide the winner.

thanx sam for listing down Irfan’s performances. if we critically evaluate these performances, we’ll see the variety and range of talent the guys possesses and in none of these performances did Irfan falter. my favorite is ABHAAS, but i hav eto admit that even ABHAAS has faltered more then once.
i agree that others have also shown variety, but at one point or other, each one of them has fallen short on experimenting with the variety of songs. i’ll just quoate a few examples…
TOSHI (although i really admire him)… trying to sing a SONU number…FALTERRED (even pointed out by SONU himself).
ABHAAS (who is infact my personal favourite in the lot) falterred on JANAAB E AALI.
Harshit (a good singer though) forgot his lyrics more than once and delivered the worst performance in the qawali episode.
ISHMEET the only experiment he did was by singing QAWALI and he fell way short on the challenge.
all the others among BEMISAAL BAARA faltered at a point or twice. there are only two participants (which technically speaking) never committed any such mistake. one was ARSHPREET and second is IRFAN. and ironically, both of them are no more here.
i again repeat what i said in my previous post… at this stage of the competition, all the singers are highly talented, and the only way to guage their performances is to compare their performances and abilities with each other.
sadly enough, one of the better singers of the TOP 5 left us today… SAD… but as the say .. THE SHOW MUST GO ON…
one thing that i desire to do somehow is to write an email to IRFAN (whether he reads it or not) i know how one feels after being dejected and rejected even after being so honest and committed to something. my heart goes out to him. May Allah bless you IRFAN. i hope i could give a pat on your shoulder and tell you that the purity of your talent will never diminish due to this elimination. just stick to this purity and you will reach your desired heights INHSA ALLAH

As far as the singing goes for 19th & 20th october episodes,
Toshi has outshined everyone. Tadap and Allah Hoo, 2 different kind songs and both given full justice.
Abhaas for me was 2nd best, the only place i feel he slipped was when he took the “TAAN” on the higher notes it felt like he was screaming, as happened with priyani while singing Aa Ab laut chale.
Irfan, was dynamic as usual, but I think he needs to stick to Rock songs, classical is not his flavour.
Harshit, Long way to go my friend, He has the throw in his voice but cant do justice to the songs and needs to come out of copying.
Ishmeet, Judges are not wrong about you, Jatin Pandit has got the experience, I somehow feel Vipul was more deserving than Ishmeet. Ishmeet has very nice voice, but does not deserve to be in Final 4.
I am shocked on Irfan’s elimination. This was not the time for him to go. He was better than Ishmeet and Harshit.
One request to all of you please come out of relegion and just think of music.

TOSHI deserves to be VOI, if it is to be decided purely on talent and not region or relegion.

This is for the people in this blog who say, “TOSHI IS A LIMITED SINGER.”
Lot of people will agree with me that Music is not all about singing. It is about understanding / exercising / performing and singing. Now please answer this. Doesn’t Toshi have all of these 4 elements in him? Secondly, I found him the most committed and honest to his profession. You know why?
(1) He always looks focused on singing.
(2) He never said any thing to arrange a soft corner in people’s heart except singing, i.e. He is not here to make his DADI’s dream come true, He is not a 17 years old BACHA and making funny HARKATS, He never complaint of BAD THROUGHT, remember He never complaint of BAD THROUGHT even if he has one. He is not a part timer (SHAUKIA SINGER).
(3) In Star VOI, which singer has produced most hit number? Definitely Toshi with (Teri Dewani) (Ramta Jogi) (Piya Re) (Sili Sili) (Tarap) (Tere Bin) (Lagi Tum Se) (Allah Ho) (Yar Ko me ne). Please compare his songs of VOI with not only VOI’s but other TV channel’s contestants. Don’t make false statements.
(4) Versatility…? Let me tell you that every singer has something favorite to sing. Toshi likes Nusrat Fateh Ali, so what’s the big deal? He sang Qawalies, Classical, Rock, Folk, (Hindi/Punjabi/Arabic (Kaho na Kaho)). But he always like to sang Nusrat’s songs. i.e. Harshit like to sang Kumar Sanu, Abhas like to sang Rafi sb, and Irfan like to sang Rock.
(5) Making an impact of your own in your singing is a great art and it becomes more valuable if you make that impact on already sang songs. Toshi is the master of doing that. Not like Harshit and Abhas, who are copiers and not intend to make an impact of their own.

Dear $hashi and Ateeq,
Yesterday I confirmed with my brother who is in Star Plus and he told me at about 5 PM (just after vote count finished), that Harshit was trailing by a huge margin of votes and would be eliminated.
Later on at about 7 PM he sent me the SMS that Irfan has been eliminated (during live shoot). He could not say much if any politics was there or not but he too was surprised as Harshit was trailing by huge margin.
According to my brother it was Harshit who should have been eliminated as per the vote count but when they shot the programme they announced that Irfan was eliminated.
This confirms that the votes are just an eyewash.

This is stupid. Why Irfan. Harshit should be out of this show not Irfan. Harshit copies other peoples voices and sing only similar songs, never attems difficult songs. Irfan may not be the best but he is far better than Harshit definitly.
Anyway there is no point even commenting about this show anymore. Nobody listens to us anyway. For all i know they will make the cry baby Ishmit the VOI. I wouldn’t be suprized if they do.

You are right. Ishmit is the only candidate left from the Prithvi Team i.e. Abhijeet’s team. See the justice of God , the man whom Abhijeet ridiculed so much is only man left in his team. God is great.
One more thing many people r saying Ishmeet is voice of Punjab and all that. Please stop all this non-sense from Christ’s sake.
I am not from Punjab and still a staunch supporter of Ishmeet.
Will it be proper for me to say Toshi is Voice of Islam after he sang all those Islamic religous songs last week.
So please guys stop this narrow-minded talk and accept that Ishmeet is getting votes from all over India & not just Punjab.

The voting trend has shown one thing that Indian public has fair sense of justice. The peole could not tolerate repeated insults to a talented singer like Ishmeet, hence they voted for him in large numbers. I hope this trend continues till the end.

I think Irfan is out coz he dont have any support from the judges. If they eliminate Harshit, Adesh & Lalit might have threatened Gajji to quit the show. Hence Irfan.

I agree with Rekha, Irfan did not get support from the judges and as Rishi mentioned that Harshit was trailing by huge margin of votes and still he is in the show, its very sad.
I was expecting Toshi,Abhas and Irfan in the top three. Ishmeet and Harshit is still in the show. Votes are getting manipulated. Irfan is better than Ishmeet and Harshit. This is all preplanned, SVOI have already decided who will be eliminated and who will reach the finals and win.
Since yesterday there are many comments Harshit and irfaan are in the bottom two and one of them will be eliminated, and till now Harshit was said to be lowest voted. At the last moment Irfaan is eliminated. What if Harshit was actually the lowest of five and they sacrificed Irfaan to save Harshit because Irfan is nobody’s favourite(Judges). Wish u all the best, i’m sure he will do well in whatever the future brings.

All I can say is that I am extremely disappointed that Irfan is out. From not liking him, I have really begun appreciating his performances. He has a trained voice and somplicity in his singing. Although I am a staunch atheist, I was very much touched by his rendition of Piya Haji Ali. He was totally involved in singing this song. I automatically closed my eyes and went into a peaceful mode when I heard this song from him. I am extremely disappointed that people like Ishmeet and Harshit are still around while irfan goes out.
I wont be surprised if Ishmeet wins. I am quite disappointed in Gajendra Singh and I am really tired of saying this.

First of all, I must say that singers like Toshi and Irfan do not need a platform like VOI to show their significance. Irfan has such a distinctive voice and sings all kind of songs well. I think LADY LUCK was not behind him, otherwise votes should not have been manipulated.
People are talking about religion, casts, and region etc., should realize that music has no borders. We should all focus on Music and not the other rubbish issues. Having a special debate on this kind of issues will not change VOI’s results and will not bring Irfan back, but this blog will look unattractive.

Its really very surprising What is going on in VOI also, as it happened in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa that deserving and versatile singers were eliminated and undeserving won, and now the samething is happening in VOI. I do not understand HOW IRFAN has been eliminated as he is a very good and versatile singer, whereas at this stage Harshit or Toshi should have been OUT. In my opinion 75% of public has been taken in surprise and their sentiments must have been hurt.To me it seems that Toshi and Abhas have been brought in,only for the final which I think has been planned in advance.

I am not Saying they are bad singers but i want to say that they are not that good,specially ishmeet he can sing only flat songs and has no variation.
Harshit is also not that good and a bit copycat.

Among the 5 singer they had left Irfan was the highest risky competition to the 3 fav’s of the judges so they had to push him out so tat their 3 fav’s can feel n remain safe and ultimately he had to go. The only mistake Irfan did was tat he sang very well and gave tough competition to the rest and couldnt be the favorite of any of judges. As far Ishmeet is concerned he is weakest link among the 4 now so even if he stays or eliminated the trio are under no threat.Morale of the story be a fav of judges or bring in some sentiment u’ll be a star

sahil, u r comments were quite hilarious.i assume the singers were /are voted for their voice quality, style of singing etc. but u put a new spin to the whole drama, when u said that u hate toshi bcoz he begged for votes and with his emotional drama.then how come u have nothing to say abt harshit…..having his dadi mentioned in every episode is not emotional…… drama??come on……..give us a break.
i have no favourites, but was shocked that irfan was eliminated. he definitely deserves to b in the top 3…he has been a consistent performer, a very sincere guy, it shows in his performances.
abhaas is also excellent.hes a child prodigy,hes definitely the voice of india,but not this year.
ishmeet needs a lot of training b4 hes crowned the voi.

unfortunately ashpreet with a good voice throw and excellent sur was voted out.i never liked her.but i cant deny the quality of her voice…it was superb.
toshi is absolutely marvellous..his voice is not the typical playback singers voice….if mukesh saab could make it and really make it good in play abck singing for decades y not toshi.jatin u r comments abt his voice being hoarse is not right.in any singing .either classical or playback……….it doesnt matter if u ahve a sweet voice or not….u shd b in sur….thats very very important.if gangubai hangal ji and bhimsen joshi saab are revered all over the world y not toshi.they never had sweet voices…lets accept it.what abt shubha mudgal??shes not got a sweet voice.but its the quality and how u mould it and keep it in sur, is what matters….ishmeet is not bad….but he needs a lot of training b4 he bcomes the voi.

If the judges have their way Toshi would be crowned the VOI. I hope Gajji keeps the final selection process fair.
Now we can hope some fairness only from Mr Gajendra Singh. All the judges are totally & madly biased.

Those who got eliminated in the previous rounds got a second chance and that is really unfair. Why not give Irfan and whoever gets eliminated next week another chance to perform? Entry of the other contestants through wildcard, just because the judges wanted their favorite contestant back, has made this show worse than a soap opera. When other shows can follow the format without any problem why not this? It is really hard to take elimination of our favorite contestants, but when we say “voting”, it is completely based on luck and trying to modify things and show favoritism is really annoying.

You always said that, Ishmeet is God’s child. God is doing justice with him. Are we all not God’s children’s? Are those contestant’s are also not God’s children’s? Yeah they are also. We are also. In this forum I always said that, Ishmeet has a sweet voice & good singer but just like him there are also millions of singers in Sub continent. So what’s the specialty he has! Irfan’s elimination is a great shock for everyone. Instead of him if there is any person should eliminated that is Ishmeet. Jatin, please truly ask yourself at once and I hope you will get the answer my friend. What is happening at SVOI right now is monopoly, nothing else. Dear folks!!! let’s not be emotional/personal with the fake eliminations. The channels are money making machines at the cost of talented, hopeful and deserving singers lik TOSHI, IRFAN, VIPUL, ABHAS. Having said that, the CASH COW of SVOI show is ISHMEET, generating millions of votes ($$$) from Punjab going into the coffers of Gajji and his team. How come they will let their CASH COW goes out of the show??? haaaaaaaaaa.. it is just common sense.
In any event, this is a game and even the person who will make it to the finals will soooon be forgotton because these channels will come up with something new to grab our attention and eventually we will be cheated again.
At the end, I only blame ourselves who are keep watching these nataks and wasting our hard earned money and precious time…
I truly hope this message gets out to all of us.. and hope, pray, wish that TOSHI wins SVOI crown by Lata gee, as he seems to be the most deserving and fully-trained and multi-talented singer on the show after Irfan and Abhas.

I m very well aware (not only me but we all) that though these talent hunts give an oppotunity for budding artists to expose their talent but then the creative team, the judges, the director, and even the voting system play with the emotions of the contestants. i m not saying this only for irfan but for all the contestants.At the end (for us) an unexpected winner and for the jugdges as well as the whole team of SVOI ( with the monopoly and politics played by the show ) an expected winner comes out triumphantly,whether deserving or not.
i very well agree with most of the comments that i came across, that we are stupid people wasting our time and emotions on such gameshows and not talenthunts.
my interest level had gone down when Arshpreet got eliminated and now its Irfan… what do i say.. its all money making buissness man….
I m also very upset with the judges. Before the division between agni and prithvi adesh, lalit liked all the voices of prithvi contestants and after that its all like an open book (i hopu u guys getting me). There is a lot of partiality amongst the judges. NONE OF THE JUDGES WOULD NOW USE THEIR VETO POWER OR ANY WILDCARD OR ANY OTHER POWER TO BRING IRFAN BACK.
Jatin who calls himself a neutral judge is not at all neutral and always biased. He always goes for favoritism. I agree Abhas and Harshit sing very well but Irfan is better than them. He has never faltered in any of his perfoemances unlike other contestants…i m sorry to say this, but all the judges and even shaan whom i admire a lot as a singer is sometimes not suporting the rite kind of talent. He is a very good host but still he upset me…
I only like alkaji because she is the only judge who is neutral amongst all judges and appreciates true talent, but bcoz she is he only lady judge in the panel her opinions are not considered as valid or are suppresed by other judges.
I PERSONALLY FEEL VERY SAD FOR IRFAN AND MORE THAN ME MY DAD WOULD MISS “HIS” TRUE “HINDUSTANI”, BUT MY PARENT’S BLESSINGS AND MY GUD WISHES ARE ALWAYS FOR HIM. U HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO IRFAN…WE WILL MISS YOU. GOD BLESS YOU

I am happy to see such positive support for Ishmeet!!!
Hes not Voice of Punjab because he is getting votes from world over including New Zealand.
He has come so far because of the support of people and I must mention sikh population in india is under 5%.So his votes come from different parts of the country because of his pious soul and sweet voice.
And if there are more singers like him in the subcontinent then where are they????????????????Sleeping at home or voting for others????
Even though we are all children of God,but people with innocent hearts and pure souls are always closer to God and so please be careful when you try to insult someone like Ishmeet.
The attitude of judges is biased and has let to the elimination of Irfan who was truly talented.
Its obvious that wildcard was done to get Toshi back and he will be SVOI no matter what the votes are.

Jatin Ji – Good answer to Ijaz. I dont know why these guys like imran, ijaz etc etc feel that we are against muslims and all. Bloody hell its difficult for me to really understand if they are really indians and not pakis. They should learn this from Irfan ” who bluntly said he is not from any city but he belongs to india. These guys seem to ignore that it is us that brought Toshi in and still he continues to be no. 1 (got a bike again this time). So we have no intention to keep the muslims away. We feel they are part of us but they never tend to believe this and so are called Hypocrites.
These guys are bringing communal / religious sentiments into the show which is supposed to be a fun filled sporting event.
As far as irfans elimination is considered agaain i can only say is out of the 5 best contestants -what can you expect, sooner or later our fav contestant might be out but we need to support and respect the choice of 100 million people not 5 politicians sitting at the bench and giving suggestions and explanations.
So to sum up i appeal to all of those who feel muslims are being targeted – that u guys make 15% of our population, we respect your sentiments and in no way we hate you. Stop thinking that we prefer sardar or christian or hindu whatever.

Hi this is my first post and i am a die hard fan of toshi.and with this announcement i am really shocked that irfan is eliminated.
Now with this i have really mentally prepared my self that toshi could be out next coz harshit and ishmeet are crowd favourites and i really dont know the reason for that.either Abhas Or Toshi are the next ones coz honestly what we have seen so far that this is not a talent show but a money show.They all collect money from votes and as somebody in the earlier post said that the votes have been manipulated and that is right coz harshit didnt sang that good last time where as irfan was superb.
Really no charm left in the show.once toshi is gone(i dearly dearly hope not) ill never ever watch a talent show on star plus or any other channel.
To sum up its all rubbish this vote system and people like ishmeet get highest votes only that shows are rael where judges select talent not emotional public.

I personally do support muslim singers and Amanat was my fav in sa re ga ma pa and I never said that Ishmeet is the best.But I think he doesnt deserve what the judges have been giving him.He is better than many others and his personal qualities make him far superior.I again repeat Toshi should and would win SVOI though I am just against the second chance that he got.

It is unfair to say that Irfan was out because he is a muslim. All the girls were voted out too. Does it make the voters biased against women? I feel with Toshi and Irfan, muslims have been very well represented. I feel Toshi is the best singer and I hope that he will win. He was awesome last time. He was pathetic with Dard-e-Disco and still did well with voters.

All the commenters say what they thought but nobody said that this is because of religion distinction. Irfan for me you are the Voice of the World not even only India. Its a perfect time for ishmeet to be eliminated instead of Irfan. Abbhas is nothing just judges are approving him and janta is following their comments.

You could not have said this better. In this entire forum, all you hear is Toshi fans lament, whine or beg. Even otherwise, never have they praised any one other than their own… be it Toshi or Irfan. I can bet that many post comments with different names to make it look like Toshi (especially) is popular all over.
Irfan is a good singer; a smooth polished diamond compared to a rough, cracked diamond that Toshi is. By voting Irfan out, his people have done great injustice to this potential singer. Now, all are crying foul, and trying to make up a story about vote manipulation to cover their lapse. How crass can these guys be!
I consider Abhaas as the best, followed by Harshit and Irfan. However, in spite of the population distribution, isn’t it wierd that neither Abhaas or Harshit have never received the highest votes? Either we are too lazy to vote or we just don’t care anymore…
At this rate, nothings going to stop Toshi from getting his third bike…!!!

This is not a religion, region, caste, community based blog. This blog is only for sheer music lovers. So please don’t try to bring communalism in this blog.
Here we are not to praise or criticize someone on the basis of his/her community but the music talent he/she poses.
Myself also like Toshi & Irfan because they are peculiar in their style & voice and dislikes Ishmeet & Harshit because every second singer in this sub-continent has such type of voice and also because they don’t have proper music knowledge.
Here I would like to request every VOI lover that please don’t vote because he is from particular section of society or he is being humiliated in the show for his background.
If any singer in the show is humiliated then is is just for his music. So please don’t said that someone is humiliated by some judges, therefore we have to support him. Give every participant a fair chance and compare them, then only we can chose the actual Voice of India.

Hello everyone everywhere I have been reading the comments that all u lovely ppl send day in and day out but I still dont understand why everyone has to say harsh words or inferior words for Ishmeet I have been following VOI since the beginning not one episode that I have watched that Ishmeet performed badly or underpower yes last week he did because thats not his style even if u tell Mr. Abhijeet or Shan bhai to sing a Qawali they wont so that doesnt mean that they arent good singer they great singers infact greatest in their own field so pls stop criticizing poor Ishmeet and vote for ur best singer and leave the rest to the result every singer have their own fan following so be it if Ishmeet stays or no cuz everyone has an equal chance to win and the wild card thing was never right it shouldnt have happened in the first place if Ishmeet has a greater fan following then he should win cuz its all about entertainment and may the best singers wins. I am very sorry to see that this blog has become a communal blog and everyone is talking in communal terms and not about music.
When I refer to communalism, I was simply referring to the communal treatment being meted out to Ishmeet. There is only one victim of communalism in VOI and that is Ishmeet. Ishmeet would not mind getting eliminated, but he cannot be insulted for the community he belongs to.
Now people here are attributing everything to communalism (Irfan elimination, Toshi coming back etc etc.). This is wrong. The judges hv a hateful and communal attitude only towards one person (Ishmeet) not towards any body else.

I wish to inform you that Sikh population is less than 2% in India. Total number of Punjabis might be 4%.
Now Ishmeet can not get so many votes by relying on just 4% of the people. This clearly shows Ishmeet is getting votes from all over India.
People like Imran, Anjani & Antar fail to understand this simple fact.
Ishmeet always asks for votes for his singing and only singing, there is no regional appeal. That is the best thing about this simple guy.

THis show is unnecessorily stretched!!!!!! First they conduct a mini wild card round and give entry to priyani and few more candidates and then the judges admire that it was our mistake then.Director carried out the drama of SHAPATHA of judges. And when Toshi eliminated the judges keeps saying that Gajji there should be wild carrd round + vito power also. Then they brings 3 candidates in (poor Irfan)!!! So this show is stretched and judges are getting money per episode so they will definitely like to extend the show as whole the pannel of judges knows that thay will not be judging any show after this show!!!they are also watching themselves and getting irritated!!!

On what authority r u saying that “WE INDIANS”. If u has a typical patriotic approach, please don’t let India’s image down because of nonsense communal issues. We have lost so many precious lives only because of this. And What paki and what Indian and what muslim hindu, sikh? What the hell is this? Can’t u guys live a normal life as a human being? GOD has made 23 million species in this world and gave human being an edge over all of them. So please realize it by now. I’m an Indian and hindu but have never cursed any other nationality or religion like millions of other Indians do, but this don’t make me a hero. Intentions are same to ask GOD for help but they call him with different names like GOD (in English) Allah & Khuda (in urdu), Bhagwaan (in hindi), Dieu (in French), Gott (in german), Dio (in Italian), Deus (in portugese), Dios (in Spanish), and so on. Reason for writing GOD in capital letter is that GOD is one, and has so many different names.
Now if u take word MUSIC, then it is called Mausiqi (in urdu, and arabic), Sangeet (in hindi), Muzik (in german) Musique (in French), Musica (in Italian) Mùsica (in portugese) and so on. Regardless of cast, religion, nationality etc, everyone listens to MUSIC.
Just go and have a look at SRGMP blog for grand finale. It looks like hell because blog is full of Indian – Paki and Hindu-Muslim communal issues, and gives a dirty impression. I’m happy that there r no paki participants in this show, else… could have been a hell again!
My humble request to all u guys is to stop this and concentrate on some other positive issues that could be of benefit for all of us. It hurts like hell friends.

An interesting trend is emerging now.
Before wild card entry, there were top four (T-4) contestants. Then they brought in three (WC-3) contestants.
Now they are eliminating from these two categories one by one.
First went Abhilasha (T-4 contestant).
Then went Priyani (WC-3 contestant).
Then went Irfan (T-4 contestant).
if this trend continues then next one to go would be a (WC-3) contestant.
Thereafter, we would be left with three contestants (two T-4 and one WC-3).
I am afraid at this point that they (Judges, Gaj ji et al) might play with religious sentiments of the people.
Suppose these three contestants are Harshit (T-4) a hindu, Toshi (WC-3)a muslim and Ishmeet (T-4) a sikh. Then we might see the worst kind of begging for votes. If religious sentiments are played in the programme then that would be the worst day for VOI and its viewers.
I earnestly appeal to all the bloggers to concentrate on music only.

Guys I have been following this blog for sometime. I do agree injustice has been done to Ishmeet no doubt about tat. But is this much hype necessary for this issue. This has taken an ugly turn talking about religion caste country and stuff this blog is meant for talking about VOI as a contest and how singers sing but this has turned to a communal debate. I again say the way Ishmeet was treated was bad but Ishmeet is not only one who was treated badly many others have been treated like this a few examples are Sumitra Irfan Priyani. I’d request you guys to take it jus as a contest and not give it any other color.If we start talking abt all this the essence of this blog will be lost.Ill treatment and showing down started as soon as the singers were divided into teams. My Friend Deepak,
You have not understood the Ishmeet issue at all. You are comparing his plight with that of Sumitra, Priyani etc.
Deepak getting eliminated is not an insult, it is a part of this game. Insult is what is happening to Ishmeet. You might have seen judges encouraging and asking for votes for other contestants. But can u remember a single time when any judge has asked for votes for Ishmeet or having encouraged him.
He is demoralised repeatedly in each and every serial. Even when he got maximum votes and won the bike, not even a single judge came forward to congratulate him, where as all were joypous when Toshi won the bike.
Further not even a single judge was prepared to sing with him in the episode where a judge sang with each contestant. Eventually Shaan sang with him and made a very half-hearted appeal for votes for him.
The list of insults towards Ishmeet is endless. It will take me whole day to write them.
The reason behind all these insults is deep-rooted communal hatred judges hv towards Ishmeet.
All this was started by Abhijeet in 28th September episode and is still continuing repeatedly, without fail.Ishmeet is being subjected to slow-torture by the judges.
So Deepak, I hope now u must hv got my point regarding my concern for Ishmeet.

Ishmeet haters baffle me.
Once i wrote some thing bad about Toshi, then sadiq or ateeq wrote that all special judges – Jagjit Singh, Khayyam, Mahesh Bhatt etc said such nice things about him, how can such maestros be wrong.
Then when i wrote that maestros like Amjad Ali Khan & Pankaj Udhas praised Ishmeet a lot, do you know what this ateeq/sadiq had to say
“well these special judges encourage all contestants, so their praise should not be taken seriously.”
Now their praises can be taken seriously for Toshi, but not for Ishmeet. What double standards these people have got. Shameful ooph!

Irfan, the guy who rocked the Qawali round is gone! Santa Maria! How unfair can this get? Ishmeet the guy who choked on his qawali and would have given anything for the program to be done with is laughing his way to the Top 4. Can’t believe it.

I have been a regular reader of this blog for the past few days. Its always exciting to read your comments. Just thought of penning down few of my thoughts.
Friends I think the reality shows we have today are based on drama, excitement and adventure. The makers have to give people the unexpected to keep the show alive. This often leads to situation where the makers make wrong selections of candidates or winners, purposefully. Take for example Jhalak Dikhlaja…. We all are seeing how Mika enact in the show and I am sure most us, who watch the show, eagerly just waits for his next act… he still is alive in the show and I am sure will be there in at least a few more episode. He will even win a lot of publicity in due course… they say negative publicity is also good publicity now a days. The best example is Mika and Rakhi itself. How many of the common Indians knew even their names before the infamous episode and today you find both of them everywhere in all news.
We know how the TRP’s of these reality shows are going up each day… tell me honestly… most of us… are we watching these shows only for our love for music? For most of us the answer would be no. How many of us know the name of Mohd. Wakil. He was the winner of SaReGaMaPa mega finals some years back when the winner was selected by judges. I don’t think any of the voice in these shows even matches his caliber. Even if we talk about the dance shows, I don’t think there’s a better show than Boogy Woogy. But does anyone remember the name of even last time winner? In fact how many even watch the show as compared to the reality ones… Jhalak Dikhlaja, Nach Baliye… the reason not because of the low quality but because of paucity of drama and excitement.
If the winners are declared on the basis of their performances, there is no drama left and most of us can judge the best performance of the day. But to build up the excitement, we are given unexpected winners and losers. This will continue forever and I don’t blame the makers for this. They are giving people what they want.
Even if I ask you all, is anyone who does’t know the name “JATIN” in this blog? Its only because he always writes some new words… full of drama. I see most of the replies posted to his comments.
The whole point of me taking out time and writing this long article is to express my thoughts and if you think I am correct in my thought process.. may add a few more thoughts to this.
I am sure not many will have patience to read this long message though

Hi all
Watching the show from the 1st episode and initially I was not liking it but it got interesting day by day. But now a stage came when it got boring as the Wild Card Entry is itself a flaw of show.
We all are fools as we take any thing happening in the show to Religon and Favourtism. In my opinion the best get the Best Votes and Gajji is a reliable person as far as his credentials are concerned in reality shows like this. So we must accept the results.
I will be the most unhappy person to see Irfan going out. That is a loss. But rules are rules. My week is spoiled in real sense as I read this, but as I said cant do anything.
Still I will say my TOP-5 as

2. Abhaas
3. Toshi
4. Ishmeet
5. Harshit

I have never posted comments on this site earlier, but was very sad after seing this week’s spoiler and was touched to see such comforting comments for Irfan…I don’t think I might watch this season of Star VOI anymore
Well on one hand I agree this a reality show so anything can happen…but I think Irfan really deserved to win this contest needless to say that he is the real STAR and the real VOI….so what if he is not Star VOI…Best wishe to Irfan if at all he ever reads these comments, he may not have the best voice quality but indeed has huge potential and seems to be very dedicated to music…I think everytime he sings he puts his heart and soul in it which more important than anything…He has never limited himself with any regional or religous barries, because music has no barriers…Also never has he given any substandard perfomances and never has made any mistakes like all the other contestants have.
Well the wild card mess created by star was just to increase their TRP and bring back the most hyped singers of the show…Toshi and Abhaas who in my mind are good singers but the wild card entry itself defeats the prupose of the show…you either go by votes or you don’t, I don’t think the judges and the star team has any right to manipulate the results…I absolutely think like others that Gajji has degraded himself in this whole game…
Had this wild card entry not come in Irfan’s way he would have atleast been in the top 3…I think it is unfair towards Ishmeet and Harshit as well…I FEEL VERY BAD FOR IRFAN
I personally feel Ishmeet or Harshit should win though they aren’t my favourites, cause that way the voters will win no matter which part of India they are from…But I am sure all those manupulative judges will hype and over hype Toshi and Abhaas so that they win…guys you will see that the format of the program will also be such that Toshi will win but Ishmeet’s votes will give him a tough fight
But again Irfan doesnot need to think about all this cause his future is bright and I am sure nothing can stop him…
My Rating and Comments on the singers not that I am a great judge:
Harshit (Good voice, does need to learn music, overhyped, used sympathy on several occassions – blind dadi and all for staying in the contest, also always sung all typical songs to attract regional voters, no confidence in himself)
1) Irfan (Dedicated, detailed Consistent in performances, underhyped and no excuses like buddhi dadi to win the contest, has worshipped music for years along with hard work, put his heart and soul in every performances
2) Abhaas (Extremely talented for his age, has huge potential than any other contestant, overhyped, overdoes his performances, lacks consistency, dedicated to music)
3)Priyani (Best voice quality in female category, dedicated, huge potential, fighter of course, underhyped, no one ever spoke about she doing MA in music)
4) Ishmeet (Best voice quality in male category, hardworking, yet to learn music, seems like his mentors don’t like him and haven’t guided him well…that’s unfare for whatever reason
5) Sumitra (Best female singer of this contest, versatile, dedicated, bold and the only candidate who kept her self respect and accepted the voters decisions, this being a reality show…I am sure star didn’t allow her to express herself on the show…ALL the BEST to her…hope she can fulfil her dreams and her sacrifices don’t go in vain)
6) Ashpreet (Unique voice…didn’t get votes because of her song choice and her voice is not very suited to most of the current hindi film songs…I hope she keeps up her good work and does nto give up
7) Toshi (Dedicated, OVER OVER hyped, OVER DOES his performances which makes it annoying to listen and watch…quite a few guest judges like Sonu Nigam pointed this out…also in his style of singing he is nothing compared to Raja who was the 1st runner up in Zee Saregama…not versatile at all, used sympathy and melodrama to woe voters to come back in the contest by wild card)
I don’t expect any other bloggers to agree with my views but these are my observations and thoughts based on whatever music I have learnt and listened to in my life…

Where is this blog going. Nobody is talking about music here. VERY UNHEALTHY.
Everyone left has got a Talent, otherwise they would not have made it till here.
Agreed some are better than others. Some have limitations and some dont.
Ishmeet has been praised by lot of guests for his VOICE i.e. Sweet and innocent. TRUE. But that does not mean he is as talented as Toshi, Abhaas or Irfan.
If you listen to the HIT songs these days, none of the songs would sound innocent or sweet. All the Hit songs are in some way or the other sound Naughty. Thats what people like.
Harshit has a kind of voice which is similar to the genre of Kumar Sanu. I agree to whoever has mentioned that there are thousands if not millions of this kind of voice in the world.
NZgal – few of Ishmeet kind of voices are in NZ e.g. Gopal Bhatia & Ravi Shetty, but there are more than that in NZ itself, that does not make them VOI or as talented as Toshi, Irfan and Abhaas.
Irfan’s elimination is really shocking.

Thanks for that. I am against nobody, I only enjoy music and supports the contestant performs best on the particular episode couldbe Ishmeet, Sumitra, Toshi, Irfan Abhas etc. but you guys started critising other contestants and have crossed the limits saying street singers, traffic signal singers etc. I personally like Ishmeet, he is a well educated and from a decent family. BUT he is not a candidate to be there at this level. he has a sweet voice which every second Indian has. So I would request you guys support and vote for your favourite contestant, but do not criticise others. just leave them alone.

Dinesh, hope you don’t think I am criticising anyone either…I just find it annoying when someone is hyped beyond what they deserve…
Ishmeet definitely has the best voice quality and also potential and will improve in the future…it is commendable that he can sing so well without any professional training…but that does not make him the best.
But I too think that he should have been out the day he did not perform on the show due to illness, but I guess it is fair if there are others who got a wild card entry…
Given that the following candidates should not become Star VOI for these reasons:
1) Abhaas – came in not just by wild card but by judges veto power
2) Toshi – wild card entry
3) Ishmeet – unable to perform in one of the episode
4) Harshit – forgot lyrics for both songs in one single episode, besides is using blind dadi to get votes
(I don’t deny that each of the above are good in their own way and have talent and potential)
GIVEN THAT THE ONLY DESERVING CANDIDATE WHO PLAYED NO GIMMICS AND IS DEDICATED is “IRFAN” – the sheer deserving WINNER…Sachha Hindustani aur sachha gayak…I feel sad that there is no use me saying all this now because this will not bring Irfan back into the contest
Gajji, you have done such brilliant work until now why don’t you have a WILD CARD ENTRY now…since this time the most deserving contestant is going out…if you don’t get Irfan back, you are going to be unfair one more time…

Hello! I am a true lover of music and enjoy a lot Toshi’s singing. Abhilasha was also a great singer. Although I personally don’t like Irfan yet he got a good voice better than Ishmeet. I am very much worried about that is this programme going towards an end like Indian Idol – 3 on Sony TV. Would it be like that then it would be the insult of whole India because as each and every Indian says, “I am Indian and this my India” no doubt he or she who says this is pridable so every Indian must vote rightly. I dont want a bad result like Indian Idol it was unjust decision.

Sombody said Harshit is a copy cat. His voice has been praised highly by Jagjit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Pankaj Udhas, Amjad Ali Khan, Daeler Mehndi & Maqhesh Bhat. So what can be said about other singers.
1. Toshi- Copy of Kailash Kher & Sukhvinder Singh.
2. Irfan- Copy of K.K.

You can see that to this date Ishmeet was never appreciated by the judges ….each one has always found some fault in him. 2 weeks ago Abhijeet said that he should have been eliminated coz he was infuriated by a hate message sent by an Ishmeet fan. Above all , last week he was very badly bashed by them in the qawwali round….Ishmeet to me is not a bad singer, he has the softest voice..I loved his preformance with Shaan BUT he lacks in quality. Put him out of his comfort zone, ie soft numbers and he is totally exposed…
I have never been a Abhas fan, Sanjaya is spot on in regards to Md Rafi songs, in my opinion Abhas has a great voice for old songs, and after hearing his Satam Shivam I have to say he has got a great voice of religious songs artis etc, he has a beautiful voice for that plz no one take offence, its a sincere opinion
Irfan – I had just started liking his singing and then they had to take him out…
We all have said how stupid the show is from time to time in regards to wildcard, how late it was, the number of ppl they picked, then why blame the singer or singers itself, is it their fault that Gajendra Singh is manipluating them and I still feel very strongly that Toshi’s elimination was a act, how can the public that voted him out so early then bring him back and give him high votes again…?? and why didnt any of the judges voice their concern when Ashpreet/Priyani left..????, I think its unfair to say that Toshi is the reason that Irfan was out or Priyani the reason for Abhilasha..
I dont have a top 3. I think Toshi should be VOI because he is the only singer who has attempted difficult genres, songs and like Dinesh said, he has Class, but like Imran has been saying I also believe he wont be VOI…I think its been said so many times by Adesh ki Harshit he hain VOI !!..

This is just a musical show, nothing else. You have your personal fav (Ishmeet) as also I do (Toshi). NZ, I never said anything bad about Ishmeet at any of my writings. I always said He is a good singer but……. & also the weakest among other contestants of SVOI. But on return, you Ishmeet fans stated so many bad comments of Toshi. Bar singer, Train singer etc. etc. Which is not fair. Have you noticed something, this blog is becoming more than a Toshi Vs Ishmeet blog than SVOI discussion blog. Some even raised communal & political issues.
So my request is for all, we should respect each & every one of our favs and state our feeling, expressions in this great blog in a descent way.

Anjani 11, I am very happy with you comment and I will always appreciate people like you who has written very correct about Gajendra Singh who being the Director of the show is involved in such silly decisions by bringing in Toshi in between the show at the cost of Irfan,Ishmeet,and Harshit, I dont understand what Gajendra Singh has seen in Toshi on the day he was eliminated, Toshi and Gajendra Singh and the judges played a very big DRAMA by weeping and saying that he never wants to go back to that place from where he has come here, What does he meant? Gajendra Singh on seeing the GHARIALI tears in the eyes of Toshi immediately announced the introducing of WILD CARD ENTRY, it means that something has been coocked in between the family of Toshi,gajendra Singh and the judges this thing is not tolerable at all, if WCE is introduced then Abhilasha,Irfan and others should also be benifitted by WCE and they should also get one more chance to singh and show their talent.I think anjani11 and antar alongwith others will agree with me.Pl. reply

This guy JBJ is mentally upset. Look at his bhashaan and then they way he is cruising me, but no one raised voice against him. My lone battle will go on till the need of VOI surely.
I want to apologize to all Toshi fans for using wrong words for them with different IDs. Ishmeet is my favorite but as repentance, I have starting supporting Toshi also. Toshi is basically a good singer and number of times he has performed much better than Ishmeet.
I’m only supporting Ishmeet because of community. Sikh community is ays ignored everywhere in India and I will complain to government authorities too.

The judges are purposely keeping Harshit and Abhas in chakarwaat to eliminate the best ones. Priyani was eliminated the same way and now poor Irfan. Look at their game; now ofcourse they will have to eliminate Ishmeet so that the top three remains Harshit, Toshi, and Abhas. Otherwise if they would have eliminated Ishmeet this week, then it would have been difficult for them to eliminate Irfan in next weeks episode. This way they played safe so that people can question on Ishmeet’s 100% safety and Irfan’s elimination. WHAT A GAME.
I am not shocked, but Irfan was way much than Ishmeet and better than the other Harshit, Toshi, and Aabhas.

Because you also know that, he is really a very good singer & incomparable with other contestants. I respect yours & others supports for Ishmeet also. Because he is your fav’s. But my request is don’t support any one only for community reasons. Music is for everyone so as the singers are also. Just always remember one thing:

Jasbir I completely agree with you that Irfan and Abhilasha should also get another chance to perform with a Wild Card Entry….and that Toshi was overhyped when he left…besides I too fail to understand how Toshi can get maximum votes when he was once out of the contest and that after his come back he sang very badly in one of her performances after which he got max votes…we all know that there were reports of rigging during the last season of Star Nach Baliye…so you never know Star VOI contestants and their supporters are doing it again
After all this drama Star VOI says that it is the most honest show, I fail to believe…I think they are just trying all the tricks to increase TRP and bully the viewers…this show is just playing with the sentiments of people who are really interested in music…proving that this show has nothing to do with talent and dedication

Problem with you guys is that you just cannot appreciate real talent Ishmeet. Please do something and open your ears and listen to Ishmeet carefuly. You will find big difference in Ishmeet and Toshis singing and will accept that Ishmeet is a better singer.

I think people just lost their interests in this show. As everyone already feeling that something bad is going to happened at Grand Finale of SVOI just like Indian Idol 3 & Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Moreover, Irfan’s elimination before Ishmeet (atleast) disappointed everyone. So, lets see what happens next.

Its really sad to see the comments on this blog. I think you cant expect public. Anything can happen if wonderfully made Films Like Virasat, Dilse.., can be remained unnoticed and stupid films like Raja Hindustani and Krrishh can be historical hits than public can vote anyone at any point of time.
Irfan is a real DECENT singer at show and we all know he is the only one who doesnt faulter at any point of time in the show still people voted him out means less decent people voting in the show so we lost a quality singer in early stages.
At show no one favoured him other than Abhijeet.
I BET HERE IF ANYONE HAD LISTENED IRFAN’s SONG LUKKA CHUPPI IN THE PARENTS SPECIAL HE/SHE WOULD AGREE THAT THERE IS NO SONG SUNG BETTER THAN THAT ONE BY IRFAN. I solutes Irfan for that. PLus his song Tere Bina from Guru in early episodes was awesome I will certainly miss him for his those songs specially LUKKA CHUPPI.

Liked the singing part of the last week’s episode. Toshi shone, followed by Abhaas and Irfan. It’ll be a tragedy if Irfan bows out this week, esp with Harshit and Ishmeet still being there. A grande finale between Toshi/ Abhaas/ Irfaan, with the peerless Lataji judging the show would’ve been just awesome… Alas, looks like this’ll remain a dream!
Its interesting to see Toshi baiters mouthing the usual inanities. The guy has been hugely appreciated by Maestros like Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Sahab, Khaiyaam Sahab, Shri Pankaj Udhaas, Parveen Sultana Ji, etc. So while making a statement that Toshi is a street singer and other such claptrap, the least such posters should add are the details of their own qualifications in the field of singing/ music.
Why cant we just stick to appreciating our own favorites and that too preferably on points related to their singing ability as opposed to their religion/ community, rather than cussing the ones we dont like.
As far as Toshi goes, I believe he’s the best of the current lot, followed by Abhaas. However its not as if he’s a finished product as of today. He def needs to avoid peppering the simpler songs with unnecessary Taans and Harkats. Some discipline is called for…
I need to point out here though that going by his performance in “Tadap Tadap”, where he stayed very close to the spirit of the song, he does seem to’ve taken the hint.

yes, definately Toshi is a good singer..but not as compare the hipes created for him. Irfan is far better than him. Just take all the songs of Irfan and Toshi. U will know versatality of Irfan. If toshi will win also no body will give him songs, on other hand music directors already commit to Harshit and Abhas. I think they know music better than me and you. So stop GAGA about Toshi. He is at this point getting highest votes just on sympathy of much hiped elemination. TOSHI should go next now, because of him INJUSTICE HAPPEENED TO IRFAN.

To win in these reality show one has to be a reasonably good singer with a large group of people who will support you no matter what. These people will vote 1000 times for their favorite. As a result, 99% of winners in past reality, show were not the best singers. VOI is going the same way. Ishmeet has 90 % chance of winning this tournament. His base is very active in its support. That is what happened to Prashant in Indian Idol and Aneek in Saregamapa. I do not see such strong base for other contestants.

Wow,what a mixed reaction!! I guess there is no singer who is appreciated by all and thats what keeps the show going.
I feel bad for Irfan but someone has to go,though wildcard entry has been a bit of injustice.
Just to add on each singer has got his fan following/base because of his talent,his singing and the way he potrays himself.And the support continues irrespective of community or religion.
So lets not force our opinions on others.
I hope to see Ishmeet in the finals!!

Let’s be honest.
These reality shows are the ego trips of few and powerful.
SVOI became a wreck the moment Lalit brothers and other like-minded decided to have a early wild-card. They didn’t even accept the results of additional judges and brought Abhas back with their own choice.
This is aside from the fact how Gajendra has tried to unnecessarily drag this show.
Combine all this with the pressure of advertisers and rating wars, what you have is a mess and people playing with emotions of these young people.
I hope and pray they do not play these tricks with the show they intend to run for ‘kids’. But unfortunately I’m not very hopeful.

Please note, I’m not against Abhas, I think he’s a wonderful find. I used his example to show the ‘ego’ of these judges and the producers. They will do everything to play this game on their turf irrespective of the fact that final decision should be decided based on the SMS’s received from the junta.
If they do not care for the junta’s sentiments then they should just come out clean and say that they only care for junta’s money.

It is sad that Irfan got eliminated. Now, I hope Harshit wins it. Abhaas is still a kid and needs some more time to be real good singer. But he has very good potential for sure. I know that in this forum, Toshi has got a huge number of fans. I don’t want to hurt them, but to me, Toshi is not a complete singer. I think he has capability of being a awesome sufi singer (much better than Raja in SRGMP) but he needs more control. A very good music teacher should guide him. he can be a genuene good singer and can challenge Sukhwinder or Kailash Kher.
Harshit never sang classical songs. yeah, that is his limitation and he admitted that too. he did not have a formal music education (especially for classical). But with that limitation, he sings pretty good and in soft songs, I felt he is the best in the championship.

I would like to thank you for providing entertainment to all over the world. I Prem Sagar (from Karachi Pakistan) believe that your show is getting very much popular in our country also. There were all cream selected by judges at the level of top 12 then it was upto the public to decide their star. Despite of that judges have fought for some briliant singers like Toshi, Abhas and Piryani as well and provided a chance through vild card option but ultimately all 12 can not win the award so one will be the star but it does not mean that rest of all are not good. I think this is also contribution of this show which has introduced these singers to the public, some who are not VOI winner still they can have a chance in the industry. I know that fungus is spreading around. Fungus needs organic material to feed on which is what I am trying to deny it. Lot of other people keep responding to him. I hope people eventually realise this and start ignoring him. The most important thing is not to use his name at all in our posts.
Anyway wrt music, I was quite disappointed with Irfan’s departures. I really liked his Haji Ali rendition. I had watched the last season of American Idol and Sanjaya (Indian American) who was very similar to Ishmeet kept trotting along at the expense of good singers who got eliminated early. Same story here. I dont think Ishmeet and Harshit are better than Irfan, but sadly both still are around while Irfan has gone.
I am also quite certain that GS has not used the most sophisticated vote counting software to reduce multiple voting (vote rigging) from the same number or IP address. Also knowing how corruption is rampant in India, there is quite a big chance that votes are manually altered, unlike US where American Idol vote counting is subject to audits.
So all in all this is show is as I said earlier a gamble, a slot machine.
This game is subject to the same principles and outcomes of a Lotto game, except in this case there is also random, heavy human intervention.
Gajendra singh has gone to to Dark Side. He is like King Theoden of Rohan (LOTR) who is under the evil spell of Saruman (Ekta Kapoor) – because this show is just as ridiculous as the storylines of Ekta Kapoor’s K shows.

This VOI is all about finding a playback singer whose voice can suit to most of the filmy songs. In this respect I find Toshi does not fit into that groove exactly(even though Toshi is my favourite singer in VOI). His voice would not go well with the kind of songs a young lover in the films is supposed to sing. The analogy to this is Jagjit Singh. Such a marvellous singer he is but can anybody imagine how Jagjit’s voice would fit on the lips of Ranbir Kapoor or actors of his age. His songs in the films (tremendously hit though) have been mostly played in the background. That is why lesser in number. Like him Toshi too will have to create a niche for himself like Jagjit Singh did in non-film music world. I am sure he would excel there. In film music as far as number of songs are concerned I dont see much offers for him.

This is the only criteria for me to support.
In another programme Jhalak Dikhlaja, I want Mika to be eliminated as soon as possible, though he also belongs to ishmeet’s community.
So its a person’s character & vallues that determine my support for him.

i’ve been reading so many varried comments. have u noticed one thing…the fact that all of us are being so possessive and personal and entusiatic about this show and its participants … is THE BIGGEST SUCCESS OF THIS SHOW…What else does a producer want ??? yup…nothing can be better than so many people talking and discussing tehir show…they have a saying in URDU … “BADNAAM JO HUEY TAU KYA NAAM NA HO GA” which means that even if someone is talking NEGATIVE about your show … it still means that he is watching the show and the show gotten so much up to his mind that he is being so personally attached with the participants and the results of the show. so like it or not … all this discussion proves that whether we like it or not… VOI has become very popular among us..thats y we r talking so much about it. and belive me … this is exactly what the VOI team intends to do and they have succeeded in doing so.
as far as the discussion regarding whether the winner is deserving or not is concerned…belive me guys in the longer run … it doesn’t matter. no matter who wins…only the TRULY TALENTED ONES will hav ea career out of it. i would like to quote an example…if any of you happened to watch AMERICAN IDOL 2006…TAYLOR HIKS was a very cotroversial winner of that season in AMERICAN IDOL.. whereas the most talented of the lot was CHRIS DAUGHTRY who was eliminated from the TOP 4 along with so many broken hearts and so many disapointed fans. but if u happen to know… at this time CHRIS DAUGHTRY reached number one on th eBILLBOARD CHARTS with his debut album, whereas no body has heard any success story about the winner TAYLOR HICKS.
so all of my firnds who are disappointed by the elimination of IRFAN or any other talented singer…belive me guys, true talent proves itself with time. no matter who wins the show… only the most talented will become a success story… and mark my words… fighting over who is talented and who is not will not take us to any conclusion. the conclusion will come in a year or two when we’ll see someone out of this lot having his name among top singers of sub-continent…and thats when we’ll have a proof of TRUE TALENT. and belive me no biased decission, favoratism or commrecial manipulation is going to stop the true talent fomr becoming a success.. just as it happened in case of CHRIS DAUGHTRY.

you r right Akhlaq. I have said before too that it doesnt make a difference who wins. Ishmeet might win and he might come out with the reward album. But that and some small work that he might get from unknown musicians is all the length he can travel with his current strengths. whereas even if Toshi or Abhaas are out, they will still get quality work. Abhas has already been offered work by Mukesh Bhatt. Toshi is well known now and there will be a lot of people who will give him work.
Harshit is average and he will get work too.
It doesnt make a difference who wins. This is a gamble and the “winner” of the lottery may or may not be the brightest of all.
So I too dont really care now who “wins”.

HOwever I am very happy that he has finally acknowledged that the reason he is supporting Ishmeet because of his morality, character and determination. PLEASE NOTE he has clearly left out the word “Singing talent” from his reasons of supporting Ishmeet
Let me please remind him that this is a singing competition and not a character competition otherwise we would have people like saints and sadhus participating. THis is a singing competition and although character is very important the most critical aspect is singing talent which unfortunately Ishmeet clearly lacks.

Hi Guys and Gals. I live Melbourne and have been watching VOI on internet. I read all the comments posted by different users. I don’t know why all users are fighting with each other over there favorite contestants on the basis of religion, ethnic background and distinct appearance. According to me all contestants are good in their own way and nobody is perfect. But discriminating against any singer because of his distinct appearance is sheer stupidity and ignorance on the part of the users and judges. Judges like Jatin, Abhijeet, Lalit and Aadesh are a black spot on the part of VOI and India. That is why India is still called a third world country. We are discriminating with each other on the basis of caste, color, creed, race and religion. Why programme organizers are not paying attention over what Ishmeet is going through and why are they not doing anything to stop it? Jatin and Abhijeet are very biased and they only have one aim and that is to humiliate Ishmeet and play with his emotions. But god is great. Now there is only one contestant left is Prithvi. It serves them right. Just to let all readers know that there was
a promotional event organized by VOI in Punjab on 24th and 25th of October. Ishmeet, Harshit, Aabaas and Arshpreet performed in Ludhiana and Jallandhar.I know this because my parents live in Ludhiana. They sang songs on public demand and it was a very successful event. This show had been a good one until Gajji made his first mistake of making the two sides, Agni and Prithvi. If it wasn’t for that, the judges would have remained very impartial and the choices would have been made by a general consensus. The judges should not take sides and that I think is where the whole show went wrong. In my opinion the singers are all talented but it was not yet time for Irfan to go out of the show. He was my selection to the slot of the top three. My choice for the final three would be

This democracy has never done anything good for our country. First, people choose wrong leaders and now they want average singers. These singers win the competition, but never make it to the top. (Has anyone heard of Sandeep Acharya, the Indian Idol 2, lately? ?????) The money makers have turned singing into politics. It is supposed to be the purest form of art!! The old TVS SaReGaMa is the best show ever. All this voting is crap.
The participants want to win this so badly that they will do anything for this. I also love my grandmother and I sing for her, will the StarVoi team make me VOI?? What had dadima got to do with good singing.
When Toshi got eliminated, he said he had never sought “sympathy votes”. During the show he talks mostly about his “struggle” and stuff. If he is not looking for sympathy, why should he talk about it? I like his performances. But after all the drama in the episode when he got eliminated, I lost interest in his singing.
Why do not the judges and the director understand that, this is public voting and they cannot control it.Either follow the voting completely or keep the decision-making in the hands of the judges. If Ishmeet is not coming in “chakrawat”, it is not his fault. He has supporters.Voting is the biggest drawback of this show. It will be unfair if Irfan, Abhilasha and the one who gets eliminated next week (except Abhas and Toshi, since they already got a chance), do not get a second chance.

after long time, somebody gave the neutral opinion. Well said, once after diciding the format they should stick to the format. And y to criticise ISHMITH, that is his fans who loves his voice keep him in comition. And somebody very well said that Toshi can not sing romantic songs, and that is true he can not. Lets accept that. He is good only in safi. As far as the diginity concern, during elimation..look at his face, he do not have any guilt on his face. shame for him. now, Toshi and Abhas should go. No more injustice should hapened what already with IRFAN and ABHILASHA.

It’s very sad to see Irfan go. He’s a brilliant singer. He has a magical charm in his voice. I don’t find anything in Harshits voice.Toshi is the best. My personal favorite. I was also shocked that even Alka Yagnik also was happy to see Irfan go instead of Harshit. A guy who does ssssss when pronouncing s, why is he a good singer? Every judge is biased about Harshit.
Today Toshi sang “Teri Yaad” brilliantly.
Then Irfan was also brilliant in “Tadap Tadap”.
I didn’t like any other performances.
Irfan really gave some heart touching performances. I will miss his performance.

You are 100% right. For the first time I am feeling some respect for any judges of SVOI. Specially, for Lalit. What he said, Ishmeet, how he sings it doesn’t matter, but he will be in final. So finally it’s proved that Ishmeet is surviving only by the votes of Punjab. Today I am also feeling respect for Ishmeet (After he cried) because he also realized that Irfan was 1000 times better than him and instead of him Irfan just eliminated. Ishmeet you are a good singer with sweet voice no doubt about that but
at this moment this stage is not for you. And I believe this young fellow also knew that. But all of you just believe me, by the mercy of almighty next week something will be happened with true judgment and the grand finale will be with the best singers but not with the weaker ones (Ishmeet).

yes Mr Verma well said. Toshi looks, behaves and is a fanatic (we all know why). the stupid bloggers on here dont know anything about music. I think they dont understand that Ishmeet is the best. He is very honest , simple and straightforward man, so what if he is not trained in music so is Lataji. But isnt she a great singer today?

Sombody said Harshit’s limitations are now clear in the last two episodes. Amjad Ali Khan praised Harshit highly. Pankaj Udhas could not resist going ga ga over his voice. Atif Aslam said simply fantastic. Sekhar Suman was breatheless to say about Harshit than the other two Agni members. I think these bloggers think themselves to be very highly knowledgeable about music.

Extremely Bad that irfan has been eliminated.
Its all wrong.
This only happened becuase of WildCard entry.
He was best and even he sing good better then anyone.

Irfan was flawless today this shows he was never on this show bad or low performer, despite the fact in the Shadi Episode he sung Kanwan Kanwan and judges said its of but he was the best and was voted as the best that day. J-L bith want Irfan to leave early but he survived till now.
Now I think Toshi can win as he is in full form, but you never say Abhaas can do wonder as well

Reading many comments i have seen posted here one thing i dont understand is how can u blame ishmeet’s supporters for voting for him. What is Ishmeet’s mistake if Irfan’s fans didnt vote enough. Also people from UP support Harshit n nobody questions that. Or how many people vote from MP vote for Toshi n not Abhas. Then why single out the Punjabis. The show is about voting FOR ur favorite contestant. So if you want someone to be the voi vote for him more rather than asking others to not vote for their favorite. The fact that ishmeet gets more votes implies that more people want him to go further.
Other than that none of the singers(Shaan, Abhijeet, Pankaj Udhaas included) are capable of singing all kinds of songs. Shaan, Abhijeet n Pankaj Udhas cant even attempt a qawwali( just how out of sur the taan that abhijeet used to praise toshi was). Toshis voice isnt suited for soft romantic nos.(like tune mujhe pehchana nahi frm raju chacha-ishmeet’s amazing performance), harshit can only sing kishore da songs, ishmeet falters in classical songs. Abhas’s voice lacks power/maturity but still i feel he’s the best bet. None compared to Raja though. i still vote for ishmeet and would love to see him as voi.
Anyways its just a game since none of them is going to be a successful singer soon…(just where r rahul vaidya, abhijeet sawant, hemachandra, debojit, karunya and the list goes on). The show would end n next year svoi2 would be launched n all u guys would be again arguing for ur favorite contestants completely forgetting the toshis n harshits…ciao

ABOUT FRIDAY 26th OCT PERFORMANCE
I think IRFAN and TOSHI sang very very good…u can say remarkable.
ofcourse i have to hear the performances again to make comments on them…but to me i expected better from ABHAS….in the last song TANHAI TANHAI he wasnt in SUR starting the ANTARA….I think he didnt pick the ANTARA good…very very unexpected….and the whole song didnt touch me.
now about HARSHIT..i didnt like both of his songs…in the last song his pronounciation was bad…where?? “ajab SE” and “SANS” etc…again like ABHAS his voice didnt touch me at all…i will also admit that he doesnt have the versatility…his voice didnt suit the song.
I dont want to post n e comment about ISHMEET…LALIT jee said correctly that whether he sings well or bad he will get the votes…he sang flat to my opinion.
IRFAN was very good and TOSHI was ok…IRFAN showed how touchy his voice is and TOSHI showed how strong his SUR is and what his RANGE is.
well, some of my comments may change when i will listen to these songs again…and ofcourse i didnt mean to hurt n e ones emotion…this is just what i think about todays performences.

This is really really unfortunate and INJUSTICE that VOI TEAM has changed the voting results and they sacrificed IRFAN over HARSHIT.
Have you looked at the faces of all judges when shaiker suman announced the elimination result of IRFAN. They all were very happy that their favourite HARSHIT was safe and selected into final 4.
This was very shocking that even ALKA JI did not say anything in favour of IRFAN. He deserved to be in final 3.
To JATIN: You are toooo extremist about “PUNJAB”. You should concentrate on singing talent of the singers, not their regional belonging. For your kind info, i am also from punjab (pakistan). This is not the right stage for your politics. Sometimes i feels that you are the “personal secretary” of ISHMEET who always promote his boss without realise his singing level! And remember! Be polite when you say anything.
This is my favourite FINAL 4 Singers :
1. Toshi
2. Irfan
3. Abhaas
4. Harshit
This rating is purely based on the fact that how technically strong a singer is.
I think, ISHMEET is the weakest among all others. As far as “REST OF INDIA” votes are concerned, Irfan has got MORE votes than ISHMEET as told by SHAAN. This means that ALL PUNJAB are voting to ISHMEET for only on his punjab belonging basis. This is really a great injustice . This is my appeal to all punjab that please vote only on merit basis! I have a lot more more to say but it’s enough for this time.

Jatin et al need to understand one thing and one thing only. Just frikkin STOP saying that Ishmeet is being discriminated against because of his religion. That is just not true, and you folks should shut the ** up with that stuff.
That offloaded, I was hoping for a finale between Toshi, Abhaas and Irfan. Very sad to see Irfan go and Ishmeet still around. That just doesn’t make any sense! I hope to see Toshi, Abhaas and Harshit in finale now, but I kinda just know that Ishmeet is going to be in it so what the heck.
People have a right to vote for anyone they want. It’s just painful to see a weak singer like Ishmeet just going onward and onward … I don’t even enjoy listening to his monotonous and simple songs any more. Just having a sweet voice only works for so far…hope that stops now.

Only 2 days to go for the sangeen shukrawar and this week’s result is a shocker. At least for me. This week, Irfan is eliminated. Someone posted this comment on Sunday itself (right after last week’s performance) on my site but I did not believe it. But reader Parvaiz confirmed it. [Parvaiz always has the real information.] It will be really sad to see him go. I thought that out of all the contestants, Irfan and Sumitra were the only participants who tried to sing all kind of songs and put in a very sincere effort.
There are lot of rumours circulating around which suggests that Harshit and Irfan received the lowest votes and out of those two, Harshit got less number of votes. But Gaji did not want Harshit to get eliminated so he eliminated Irfan by fixing results. Now I don’t know whether it’s true or not, I am just sharing some gossip!
Various reports suggests that Toshi topped the voting and got another bike. So what is he going to do now? Is he going to ride it like Ajay Devgan in Phool Aur Kaante? [Does anybody remember that scene?] [I was searching for Phool Aur Kaante clip and found that Ajay Devgan repeated

Irfan didn’t play the tribalism game, he paid for it. Toshi is judge’s darling and Harshit has sympathy vote. In the end, Ishmit will win because he’s got not only the tribal game covered, he’s also the darling of the majority.

I wonder if this would go on like Indian Idol Ishmeeth will win the VOI title like Parshaant did. God knows what would happen? Anyhow I wish Toshi would win this title becase he is a real singer among all these participants. Harshit is good, Abhas is a litter imature, Ishmeet is not at all a singer but Toshi is a well trained and toned singer. I love his singing. Not only I but also everybody loves him as a singer as well as he speaks very well in a very polite manner. I hope he could be a good compere and host of any programme like Shaan is doing very well. Keep it up Shaan you are doing excellently well.

i know that this is not a communalizm blog but i said what I feel i dont tried to praise or criticize any one but this is unfair to Irfan who is most talented and deserving participant in the show I really feel sorry for Irfan bcoz he is a most appraising and supremely talented singer.
As Raj Kaproor said in his directorial (MERA NAAM JOKAR)the Show must go on.
that’s all i want to say and I wish Irfan best of Luck for Future and it is my prayer for him that he will be a right singer AS rafi saab and Kishore Daa are.

i think it has become a tradition in these reality shows these days that ” u sang better than the original”. KK sang tadap tadap beautifully and irfan was not even close to it.
another thing is about the judges of this show. go and look at suresh wadkar and sonu nigam in saregamapa little champs. they know so much and impart their knowledge of classical music to small kids. just wonderful!!! i think judges here too should try to groom the singers.

IRFAN was rocking in his performance yesterday, I was shocked by seeing Irfan is eliminated again to save Harshit they eliminated Irfan, no problem how bad Harshit sings still he will be safe because of the support from Agni judges and VOI, I am sure Irfan was having good votes(more votes than Harshit), but because of votes manipulation Irfan is eliminated.
This is so stupid I don’t understand why every time the Agni Judges brings Harshit’s Dadi for sympathy votes, this should be stopped. Toshi said about his bua, was not for sympathy votes but he said he did not had time to prepare well for friday show, but still he sing very very good.

Respected and dear all,
I am a regular reader of this very blog, i feel all the singers are good upto their own level and we must stoop commenting about the singing technicalities as singing is a very very hard nut to crack,
anyhow i would like to make comments on the very biased judges on the show, look irfan priyani and sumitra were good singers and now they are out, so will the judges again use their so called veto power and conduct a wild card to call them back, becoz the only reason is that they want either abhaas or toshi nothing else
. The neutral judge is ridiculous at times, and god save the show
Yes, ishmeet is always criticized by the jatin lalit
Lastly, i feel that if it a public opinion oriented show, then the toshi and abhaas priyani should not have been called back, let the show go on , let it be like it

I personally feel tat Abhijeet and Alka are judges of Agni team and not of Prithvi team. Most of the times they support the singers from Agni at cost of their team.While Aadesh n Lalit never leave a chance to show down Prithvi team members. For the past two episodes Alka has openly said if its between Priyani n Harshit or Irfan n Harshit i want Harshit to stay as he is jaan of the show.For me Ishmeet is getting all his votes not coz he is singing well but coz of the hype of him being insulted and Lalit pointed out clearly tat irrespective of how he sings good or bad he will be in final is a good indicator to tat. Harshit is still on for his dhadhi sentiment nothing more. Irfan was eliminated so ppl like Harshit Ishmeet Toshi are not in trouble.
