Hi all,
Good show. I think todays best persormance was of Abhash & ishmeet’s second performances. dont know why but my favourite Toshi didnt perform to his calibre though he sang well. Harshit…. he needs to grow up with his own voice now as rightly pointed out by abhijeet. I think Lalit is doing the worst thing by openly favouring his contestant Harshit at any cost. I think VOI is a great show but the final episodes of SaReGaMaPa was far far better than that of VOI specially due to some politics seen inside. May be this is another of the drama designed by its makers for better TRP’s.

Well really really missing irfan he sung unbelievable yesterday.Toshi always best but also considering his bua factor he is a person in his own class and not even abhas can match him.
BUt BOy o boy what a performance by abhas he surely deserves to get higest votes as he was pleading but all at the same time he should thank God that he is still in the show.
Still wonder child not doubt he is sung absolutely flawless and just wondering why diya mirza didnt kiss him.lol.
Ishmeet also sung very well and as alsways harshit is also a very strong competitor and sung very well.
But what happened to abhijeet he has started crying although he is supporting the innocent but he should mind his attitude and so should lalit.this is a music(money) show not a fighting show.
All in all a great episode mixed with emotions.As the show is getting near towards its end so its becoming more and more interesting and intrreging.
Well i guess next one to go will be toshi or harshit.

The game Jatin is playing on this blog is that he writes a comment under his name and then uses Verma or Rattan or such other aliases to support his own view. Look some of the patterns in the posts above. There is something pathologically wrong with this guy.

I dont know if the pervious blogger was talking abt Toshi’s song or the actual song from he movie, but I agree with the comment, Im referring to Toshis song, Ive listened to it more then 10x since I first saw it – amazing, all I have to say, and I find this abt ALL his songs, whatever song he sings, he leaves a personal mark on it, like a tag to say Ive sung this in MY own WAY, for a unknown singer I think its a big achievment on how he can personalize songs, brilliant..
I didnt like his comment about his bua, I love his singing, I dont think he needs this sympathy thing, but like Sadiq said he wasnt trying to get sympathy but he was just saying Ive sung well because of I didnt practise ..I just dont think he worded it right..but I personally think he should keep away from it…
Ishmeets song on Saturday, his second song was sung so beautifully and I personally think Abhijeet was spot on with his comments, I get the feeling that he was pissed @ Irfan leaving

Toshi,
As always a good performance. He is trained and has the advantage over the others. The only problem I have is the voice quality, his voice is different and is not so suitable for playback singing..
Abhaas did a good job. Love that guy..but he will not win unfortunately.
Harshit..Not at all impressed with him.
In sum its a fight between Toshi and Ishmeet. I think Ishmeet has good chances of winning this contest..passion and punjabis are synonymous.

As shan already saud in 27th oct episode that voi will be decided by lata jee not by baised judges and regionaly divided junta so ishmeet chances of becoming VOI will be very bleak.As abhas was not selected by wild card judges i don see him as voi either its between toshi n harshit.

I agree with Imran and hoping it to be true that as per announced by Shaan Lataji will come to the finals and select the VOI, then there are more chances of Toshi to win if he reaches the finals, he deserve to be in finals, but cannot say anything because judges are favoring their favorites, they can play politics again eliminate Toshi and Gajj and Agni judges will come again and shed corcodile tears.
I think the Judges have decided to give one bike to Harshit, maybe tomorrow he might get the bike(Votes manipulation), because of more and more Dadi drama on TV in last two shows they might try to fool us to feel that people voted more after seeing the Dadi drama, tomorrow maybe Abhas will get eliminated.

Lot of people are saying Harshit has to change his voice. It is simply ridiculous. Voice is God given and cannot be changed. Harshit’s voice is most suitable for playback singing. All the music maestros coming as guests have praised his voice. Now it is important how well he sings and not his voice sounds like this and that.
Abhijit spent years singing Kishore Kumar’s songs and tried to sound like him. Now it is ridiculous for him to point fingers at Harshit. The offer to Harshit to sing songs in films has not gone down well with Abhijit. He now thinks Harshit as a threat.
Kishore kumar spent years singing KL saigal style before developing his own style. Now these people are telling Harshit to develop his own style in two or three episodes. Ha ha ! Enjoy the charm Harshit brings into his songs rather than cribbing about copying.
He will have his own style the moment he gets a new song in films. Come on Harshit. Do not be worried. These people just cannot tolerate you, lest you should defeat their favourite singer.

Harshit always tries to be copy cat, he tries to sound like the original singer(Kumar Sanu or Kishore Kumar), he has to try and sing in his own voice rather than try to make sound same as Kumar Sanu or Kishore Kumar, people need a new voice and an good singer, OK forget about his voice but he is not a good singer comparing with the remaining other contestants, he can sing only straight line songs with very less sur. I agree with Abhijit’s comments that other VOI singers sings in their own voice and they do not try to make sound of original singer of the song they are singing. I am not against Harshit as a person he looks to me very calm and friendly but when we talk about singing he doesn’t deserve to be even in top 6 of VOI.

There are lakhs and lakhs of ppl in india who can copy kishore kumar and can sing like harshit does. Having said that, still it needs talent to sing like kishore kumar, but there are plenty plenty ppl who can do that. there is nothing new in his voice..its same old kishore kumar voice..when show started they said they were looking for original and different voice and got rid of some contestants because they sound similar to kishore kumar..then why was harshit there??the judges are great..this show will be better if the judges are out first before any contestant is out..

Hi Musing and Other Ishmeet Supporters,
Yesterday’s episode was a stepping stone for Ishmeet towards becoming VOI.
My stand about Ishmeet is vindicated as his worst critic Abhijeet Da praised him yesterday and appealed for votes for him.
Ishmeet sang the sanwariya song “Mashallah” really well.
By the way Shankar there is only 1 jatin i.e me, some ppl try to send foolish statements by my name.
Any communal or anti-ishmeet or Toshi-praising statement by my name needs to be ignored.
Guys do vote for Ishmeet, he is the best. Now even his critics r saying so.

Ishmeet is only contestant who has his own voice and what a beautiful voice quality and melodious voice..adesh srivastava said that he was impressed first time..is that a joke or without any work srivastava has gone mad..why is ishmeet there if he is not good..he is very good singer and was selected & appreciated by this esteem panel of judges..these judges have made mockery out of this show..I think after seeing all this, no channel should give them this job..the type of comments lalit pandat is making, its clear he doesnt want ishmeet to win..but with yesterdays performance of ishmeet, he better shuts his mouth and make sure that so called 17 yr old abhaas also shuts his big mouth..

Ishmeet did not sing correctly yesterday, he was not able to pronounce MashaAllah and other words and was not even near to the same sur as per original song. But only his voice was nearly matching good, and remaining he spoiled the song.

Ya Uppi i was also shocked at Shrivastava’s statement. I will tell u 1 interesting fact. In the intial stages when judges used to give points, Ishmeet got 10 points from Aadesh shrivastava to reach the top 12. Now if Aadesh was never impressed with his singing, how cum he gave him 10/10. This means Aadesh Shrivastava is a mentally unstable person.He has no business to be the judge. He is giving 10 marks to a person he was never impressed with. The Agni Team judges Lalit & Aadesh hv gone mad in their disgust for Ishmeet. They themselves dont know what they r saying.

Abhaas is supprted by many ppl inside and outside this show..he is a very good singer and has got different voice. abhijeet bhatacharya is just pathetic like all judges in this show..now he says good things abt ishmmet..where was he earlier??even though ishmeet has improved overnight but its same voice..now his own existence in this show depends on ishmmet and ppl of punjab whom he adored so much till last month!!mr abhijeet,come back to senses..in the begining i thought u were the only sincere judge..just see what these brother and brother in law and alka yagnik has done to you..alka yagnik was happy and relieved yesterday to find harshit safe..one more example how much she liked irfan who was her own candidate..good job akla yagnik!! we will continue hearing ur boring and monotonous voice..

Look at the way Toshi stands after he sings to receive comments. While other’s stand waiting curiously and obediently, Toshi looks as if he is waiting for a shower of praises! Honestly, we have seen both Abhaas and Toshi sing Rafi’s songs. Toshi makes more mistakes than Abhaas. Anybody who understands music will agree with me on this. Toshi sings well only when there are a set of very high notes continuously. There also, if you observe closely, he falters when low notes come or when he is making transition between high and low notes.
Don’t you guys think he is making use of haj yatra for his parents and bar singing background (As rightly pointed out by Manoj Bajpayee) a bit more than normal to gain popularity?
Coming to Harshit, the poor guy was treated very unreasonably by Abhijeet yesterday. His singing is so perfect! I don’t think it is fair to criticize him so sharply at a crucial occasion. Don’t you see traces of Rafi even today, in Sonu Nigam, who is a proclaimed singer? What more, even singers like Kishor Kumar and Mukesh began their careers imitating K.L.Saigal. And I don’t understand how Abhijeet could say Abhaas does not imitate Md.Rafi. He does. And the probability of him making mistakes is more in non-Rafi songs than in Rafi songs, which is solely because of the fact that he can imitate Rafi better than he can imitate anybody else.
And as for his quawali-fiasco, he made a terribly wrong choice of song. Everybody else’s songs were popular or there was some sort of a chorus. (Alla hu – Ishq ishq- Piya haji ali). And obviously Harshit’s song lacked the luster. Nobody noticed that he was more sure of his notes and was providing better finishing than Toshi.
I had the joy of my life when Lalit was proved blatantly wrong by Ishmeet after “Masha Allah!”. “Na jaa kahi ab na jaa” was not all that simple after all. Ishmeet was so awesome! All my complains against him for poor singing melted away yesterday. He has a AMAZING voice and and even more amazing smile.
Last but not the least Abhaas. Kudos to him, he’s terrific when he sings Rafi’s songs, and mind you, imitating Rafi is very very difficult. A splendid “Dil Ke Jaronke mein” came out, much as expected. He was too cute in the next song, x-factor of which was doubled by Diya Mirza’s exquisite beauty!
Once again, I don’t think Toshi deserves the popularity he is getting. Harshit is being penalized unreasonably using the “copy cat” issue. Ishmeeth is sweet. Rafi-reborn Abhaas is incredible.

There is no hope in this show..what does this agni prithvi system stand for in this show, i dont know…all nonsense, keeping that neutral judge and then two different teams doesnt make any sense now..all looked good when it started but now we know what the reality is..as far as toshi is concerned, i was not impressed with his first performance..he still is a damn good singer with classical touch but his voice is not suitable for playback singing.. he will be very good in certain kind of songs like rahat fateh ali type.. he has competetion from mussarat abbas from pakistan who i think is unbeatable in that style..when i compare toshi with raja hindustani, toshi is not near to raja..raja can sing any type of songs and has kind of range which is incomparable..next episode, toshi should sing nusrat fateh ali type song in which he is very good and definitely he will be in finals along with ishmeet..

There is a saying “Ek dhoondo aur Hazaar miljayenge” or “Bewakufoon ki kami nahi ha, ek dhoondo hazaar miljayenge”. This is for all those bewakoofs who again says Toshi cannot sing all kind songs(Sorry to use the word bewakoofs but these blind people deserves to be called like this)
Toshi has shown everybody by singing all kinds of songs perfectly and even better than the original. you can download his mp3 songs and listen then you will know, and maybe just u don’t want to agree the truth that Toshi is best. Jatin, Adesh has really gone mad. now since he is out of jhalak dhikla ja(courtsey mika), he has lost his mental balance..they are not doing any judgement work there..they are promoting their candidates..indian idol and SRGM are genuine shows and judges there have some self respect and they stand by their words, they stand by their contestants..they encourage their contestants…voi judges are like prostitutes who are nowhere..today here and tomorrow there..

After watching the last episod of Friday, I agree that Irfan did sing well, no doubt but so did Jatt Yamla Ishmeet, the celebrity judges had praise for him.
I always adored Shaan, but after his cheap crapy presumptions on poor Ishmeet, I lost my respect for him and he too is behaving like Himesh d Dumhess..
If you are reading this Shaan, let me tell you that a good emcee or co ordinator is one who is level headed and does not make presumptions or indirect belittling of any contestant.
May the best win as they are all human beings who have feelings just like you and me and deserve a chance in life to prove their mettle .
I am not from Punjab but I will give all a vote, they all are working hard to get fame, lets support them as VOI simply means…

I was also very very disappointed with Shaan’s behaviour on Friday. He was practically appealing to people to not to vote for Ishmeet. He was indirectly saying that if Ishmeet wins we will get voice of a particular state and not India. What a shame. Ishmeet must hv felt very hurt as he calls Shaan his idol and even touched his feet and see what Shaan did in return.
I just hope Abhijeet Da continues his support to Ishmeet till the end of the contest. That will add up to the young boy’s confidence.

Shaan was absolutely clear that he was referring to Ishmeet. Chor ki dadi mein tinka might refer to Shaan.
Meanwhile asma before supporting Toshi just carefully see him smiling first. You will notice the smile of a Devil – a person with evil designs.

Now the SVOI has entered a crucial phase and next week only three will remain. I do not know whether the finals will be with two or three participants. But here are some predictions.
Whatever the bloggers may think voting mostly takes place on religion and regional lines.
1. Toshi- When Irfan was there , all the Muslim votes were divided between him and Toshi. So both were coming under chakravat by turns. After elimination of Toshi and the drama that followed Toshi started to get a large chunk of Hindu votes also because of sympathy after WCE. Now after elimination of Irfan, Toshi is getting all muslim votes + all Rajastan votes + large chunk of hindu votes. That is why he is getting highest votes now and is now safe for the finals.
2. Ishmeet- Ishmeet mostly gets votes from Sikhs/ Punjabis all over India. But the no of SMSs per person for him is more than that for any other candidate. That is why he is safe for finals.
3.a) Abhas- When Priyani was there , the votes from MP were being divided between him and Priyani. So both had to sit in chakravat by turns. But now with Priyani gone, he is getting all the MP votes plus some votes from all over India.
b) Harshit- Harshit has all the hindu votes from UP plus mostly girl votes from many parts of India. That is why he is there. But some of his voters outside UP have shifted to Toshi and Abhas. That is why he is coming in chakrvat.
So next week the battle for the third place will be between Abhas and Harshit. Though Harshit is my favourite contestant,I believe who ever gets the third place will just scrape through marginally.
But my prediction is that if the final is decided by public voting, then who will get the third place next Friday will be the ultimate winner.

Even if Lata Jee is the one to decide the VOI in the finals, she would have only three candidates to choose from and the good ones have already been eliminated by manipulation of votes and crititcism. Next week’s episode would be interesting and I wish that the JAAAL(I) mentors let Ishmeet be in the top 3 because I want to see the reaction of Toshi, Aabhas, and Harshit, and above all the comments by the mentors and Shaan as they are all against Ishmeet. On the other hand, I doubt that Ishmeet would be on top 3, because the JAAAL(I) mentors purposely eliminated Priyani and Irfan not to keep Ishmeet safe but to crticize and insult this poor fellow enough in every episode s so that no one votes for Ishmeet.
Irfan was missed in yesterday’s episode. He deserved to be in the top 3.

Hey I read this post on another site and I thought it was true and very interesting, I like the end part, I think its worth a read :::
In sunday’s episode, they showed Toshi’s mother talking. And she said very candidly, if and only if, people like his voice they should vote for him…This is from the mother of a person, for whom VOI is a ‘junoon’, knowing very well that at this stage of competition how much can appeal tilt the balance!
All the people who think Ishmeet has a good heart , don’t you think Toshi’s mother has a good heart too? It needs guts to talk truth and pure truth under such circumstances!! My respect for her and Toshi has gone up many folds!
But why his mother only, yesterday he also said, if we feel he should move forward in the show, we should vote for him. This shows not only greatness of heart but also abundance of self trust!
Btw, I will be really surprised if any of the event management or these album companies or any ’sensible’ music directors have not singed him yet! Unfortunately I do not have any such contacts but signing Toshi is like a sure shot recipe for success! What more can they want? A well trained singer who can enthrall the audience, rather make them go crazy, superb voice and a unique style of his own!

Finally GS has started following up SRGPM pattern by dividing votes into different categories but I’ll be more than happy if they announce total number of votes as well. Instead of spreading regional row, it would be great if they agree on some more positive mode to attract public. In my personal opinion, if they keep the same pattern in coming episode, then they should rename the show to STAR VOICE OF (Winner’s state name) like Punjab or Rajasthan etc.
Alka and Abhijeet expressions in the recent episodes clearly show that something went wrong seriously; else they would have never been so serious. I think Abhijeet’s criticism to Harshit was in retaliation to Irfan’s forced elimination and will keep on doing so for another episode at least. I’ve seen tug of war between Agni & Prithvi after long time, and I’m sure Irfan’s forced elimination is the reason behind this.
I used to hate Lalit for begging sympathy votes for Harshit by using his BLIND DADI, but his brother Jatin has joined him as well. This is a patent indication that Harshit is losing votes because of more talent available in VOI. Funny stuff is that now Toshi has joined sympathy pleading club as well by bringing his aunt’s medical issues!!! He has realizsed by now that only talent will not win him the crown but he has to participate in dramas as well!! But seriously, Toshi is the only participant in VOI so far, for whom none of the judges has begged for votes. That clearly shows level of his talent.
Irfan’s performance was one of the best so far on Friday. The way he sang Tadap Tadap clearly show that he is a true versatile singer and possesses superior qualities then few other participants of VOI who are still there undeservingly. I did mention in the past that Irfan might not make to the grand finale because of lack of support from judges and their cruel behavior towards his eliminations has proven my point. This man showed complete bravery on his elimination. GOD blesses him.
Now VOI is reaching its climax and as mentioned in the past, Toshi’s presence in grand finale is definite due to commercial issues. He will earn hell of money for GS, regardless of who is the winner. Ishmeet is for sure in Grand finale because he is the only one representing Prithvi. That makes Harshit or Abhas as nominees for next elimination. Both of them have support from Judges. Hrshit is supported by Lalit & Adesh. Abhas is being supported by Jatin and Alka. Basically next elimination would show who more powerful judge is there in VOI. Abhijeet is out of powerful race of judges due to his unwanted comments in every episode and Alka was very clever to choose Abhas after Abhilasha’s elimination.

People who hates Toshi and Loves Ishmeet, just my personal suggestion and don’t take it personal please.
Please listen to Wild Card entry episode where Ishmeet sang along with Pranthik. Even though Pranthink Sur couldn’t make it to the top 6 and was the 2nd to be eliminated from top 12, still he sang better than Ishmeet. Now if pranthink couldn’t make it to the Top 6 and sang better than Ishmeet, THERE IS NO WAY that Ishmeet is comparable with TOSHI.
Last but not the least, If Ishmeet is crowned as VOI, then it would be a repeat telecast of Indian Idol 3, and SRGMP 2007, where votes were manipulated.

I think Saturday’s (27/10/07) episode was one of the best of SVOI. According to me here is the recent ranking of mine of the contestants after the show:
4. Harshit – Very good. Keep it up.
(But one thing he said that if he wins then he will build a house and secondly will give the car to his parents. What about Dadi?).
3. Ishmeet – Very very good.
(You really impressed me after the second song. Wonderful. But still in my opinion this years SVOI is not for you. Because, despite your excellent performance you are still the weakest contestants among others).
2. Abhaas – Wonder child’s wonderful performance.
(But I think his mouth is getting bigger day by day. I think over confidently he is feeling that he will be the SVOI. Still long way to go child).

Toshi’s songs on both Friday and Saturday were unexpectedly beautiful. Other contestants might sing well, but none touches the deepest chord and brings tears to eyes as Toshi’s voice does. Main Jahaan Rahoon and Saiyyaan were both very difficult and different types of songs and yet he managed to create the similar magical aura on the listeners.
If anyone thinks that singing songs that have been previsously sung by Rahet Fateh Ali, Kailash Kher, Sukhvinder Singh and Nusrat Fateh Ali do not prove one’s talent, then in a way you are insulting these great personalities as well. Do you mean to say that these people have horrible voice as you often tend to link them up with Toshi’s?
In actuality, only someone like Toshi can dare to sing such difficult songs and not any of the other contestants who always choose soft types which often become monotonous for the listeners. If you do not like Toshi’s singing, then you all are not true listeners or lovers of universal music and have very limited liking (only soft bollywood songs). A true music lover needs ear for all types of music – from regional, to folk to romatic, to sufi and western styles.
Besides, when Toshi said about his past for the first time, he had been eliminated and there was no hope for him to return (if you remember). In reality, Toshi wins votes cos his voice appeals to many, due to the different types of genres he has selected his songs from. And not simply out of sympathy. If he says he wants to take his parents for Haj, then what is wrong in it? It is the biggest dream of every Muslim to go for Haj at least once in their lifetime, and when Toshi says this, it only reflects his love for his parents and wish to fulfil their greatest dream with the money he receives after winning VOI.
To me, Toshi represents the real essence of India, its traditional classical background… and he deserves to be the VOI. Will love Toshi forever.

Verma, I think you must not bring religious and sensitive issues in this blog as music is not judged by religion. It transcends all limitations of society and appeals to one and all. Mohammad Rafi was a Muslim, will you say he never sang well cos he was not a Hindu or is it that his songs never appealed to you? These discussions are baseless and please avoid them completely.
Also can anyone tell me as to how you know, who has a good character and who doesnt by simply hearing them on the stage of VOI? How do you judge people so easily? Do you know any of the contestants personally or are they your personal enemies? Please do not make such comments here.

I had heard the song Mein Jahan Rahoon earlier and have heard it a thousand times perhaps cos its one of my favorites. And today, I must say, that no one in the world could hv sung it better than Toshi… His voice has the capacity to touch the deepest core of the soul, and that’s when we have tears in our eyes and he has done this so many times before. That’s why perhaps I’m so much in love with Toshi and his voice… cos he has always sung my favorites.. from Piya Re to Lagan Lagi to Ramta Jogi to Din Dhal Jaaye to Teri Diwani, Sili Sili, Main Jahan Rahoon, Saqi and nw Saiyyaan.
Everytime he has come back with a bang, and in a more melodious way. His voice is not something that can be limited to the bounderies of Bollywood… it has an universal appeal – his voice is a mix of dedication, pain, passion, love and utmost respect for his family and his music and when all these combine, it is bound to transcend all bounderies.
His performance of Main Jahan Rahoon has brought tears to my eyes and many others who had hated his voice previously and that perhaps says what a capacity this man has in winning people’s heart through the honesty in his voice alone. And his Saiyaan took me to a different world, and I wish I get someone like Toshi as my lifepartner, who would sing this song and other for me as beautifully as Toshi did, forever and ever…

Well, I have read several posts about VOI contestants and I have been watching program myself – if not all episodes but most of it. Top contestants could be Toshi, Irfan & Harshit. I come from a background having arts and music in my blood. I rate Toshi & Harshit way above others. Irfan was good but not the best. Ishmeet voice is ok but he has a long way to go in order to become a professional singer. Toshi is solid in terms of understanding, singing and living music. He seems to have done years of Riyaz. Harshit voice is very suitable to playback singing of bollywood movies keeping the trend of successful voices of last 30-40 years in mind. No matter who wins VOI as winning/elimination is not dependent on quality but on votes unfortunately, Toshi & Harshit have good future prospects in playback singing and Indian music industry. That is what matters the most at the end of the day rather than winning a VOI contestant and disappearing altogether in some dark for years to come.
Abhas & Irfan may do well in future, if they continue doing Riyaz and get a break somewhere. Ishmeet may do well also if he really works hard and does Riyaz for next several years. Long way to go for him. They all may get do well locally in their cities or local musical events.
Reality shows are always good for Makers of the show..they make most out of it in terms of money & popularity but not well suited for contestants because of vote politics. In India, masses vote more on regional, cast, religion factors than on talent & quality. This is unfortunate but we need to live with the fact.
I wish all the best to all participants for their short & long term goals.

I have been following SVOI since very beginning and in my personal opinion (with due respect to all above comments), these three deserves to be in the finals:
TOSHI(Classically well-trained, mature and possess different voice)- remember, Sonu Nigham said that today’s industry needs people with strong classical background and not simply melodious voice only suited to sing romantic numbers, There are many voices like can be found around industry but its real challenge to find a we–trained classical singer.
IRFAN (down to earth person with unique voice quality)but he was unfortunately voted out by our beloved JUDGES and not the public voting.
ABHAS (natural born talent to only sing romantic numbers but must work on his attitude, he seems over-confident)as it says, this is the ATTITUDE with elevates our
LATITUDE.

Sometimes I think you do not even need regionalism, communalism or religion to hate people. Most people would do that for no reason. Also baiting, deriding, abusing etc..are an outcome of your inner nature. If you hate everyone/thing that’s different..then I guess it does have to come out fully before you are ready for moving higher up in evolution.
All this is not funny, but probably a catharsis which is inevitable.
I did vote for Ishmeet. I think he is a cute sardar. For some reason I am not convince about Toshi’s voice quality and Harshit’s lack of originality. Abhaas sing’s very well and is also a likeable person.

There’s a well known “internet” saying – “On the Internet, Nobody knows you are a dog” (http://www.unc.edu/depts/jomc/academics/dri/idog.html).
This blog initially started off as a great platform for discussion regarding SVOI, but has ended up being hijacked by some/ a single delusional (and quite obviously suffering from some sort of a severe psychological disorder) poster(s).
Bloggers with differing points of view/ democracy are one thing, and mentally sick, deranged and poisonous individuals quite another. However, quite apparently the blog admin has mistaken the woods for the trees, and has given a really long rope to these guys, although no doubt with noble intentions. The end result however, is there for all to see with the kind of posts coming up and the absence of any serious discussion on something known as “music/ singing”.
Perhaps the blog can still be resuscitated. That’ll require a ** blanket ban** on the concerned individuals from posting. And a **strict** warning to all, that posts related to anything else than singing/ the prog are liable to be removed.
This’ll obviously call for more hands on involvement for the moderator. If thats something not practical for the moderator, maybe he can think of sharing the blog management role with other posters on the blog (Not too sure how that’ll work, but I’ve seen some other blog moderators asking for volunteers and sharing blog management tasks with them).

Though my heart will favor Harshit, but its true that he has strong competition from Abhas and Toshi. I dont understand why he has being criticized of copying Kishore Kumar or Kumar Sanu, I would say its a great achievement if somebody can even sing half as beautiful as Kishore Kumar.
Ismeet too is great and is undoubtedly smarter than others (his song selections earned him lot of support) but he is not as good as others in the top 4.
I hate all these vote appeals and emotional dramas out there. The voting can never be judged as a fair game. Its more of regional issue now rather than judging true voice of India. I wish votes all over India should be considered only in case when judges have a tie among them.
Lets see, who is destined to win.

the comments made by lalit pandit were really low. if he thinks that other singers are singing easy songs so is he stupid to give difficult songs to his contestants. he is just trying to make his team look good compared to others..nobody can sing soofi songs like toshi but at the same time there’s nobody else who can sing soft romantic songs like ishmeet.

lalit pandit constantly try to get sympathy votes for toshi, like the other day he said that despite the condition in his family he sang really well. what condition is he taking about, everybody has problems in life let;s face it. in saregama a girl named poonam yadav used to sing so well in the end she got eliminated and at that time they mentioned how she was supporting her family. they didn’t start crying about her family condition s in each episode.

Thankfully jatin has stopped writing better go to sleep jatin and never get up. You are sick to the core. I wonder why the moderator didn’t remove jatin’s post when it is the most stinky… i don’t have words.
Can anyone tell me why abhijit was absent on the day Irfan was voted out. I don’t think Irfan is getting vote for muslims only there population is not enough either its wealty enough to send sms to him secondly he would have been out during ramzan itself if muslims only were pushing him, I think we should go above this religion, caste region think and leave all this to jatin and his stinking tribe. Looks like judges are hell bent on keeping abhaas and harshit for the finals. Probably that’s why they are trying to insult ishmeet so that people will vote for him and they are doing so. What’s the problem with jatin latin and adheesh they just cann’t think of anything except harshit dadi’s when harshit himself is not worried about her. If he win he will make home for his parents and drive them in his new car. No dadi’s name but latin jatin and adheesh are hell bent to remind people about the dadi. For abhaas too last episode it look rather stupid see dia mirza onstage with him. Looks like they don’t know how to push Abhaas into the final 3. The judges are hell bent on pushing abhaas and harshit so probably Toshi though he has come out of his sufi songs is the one to go out next time so that in final abhaas and harshit will get the chance to be VOI as Ishmeet will fail if give songs not suitable to his voice. But wonder whether Star plus will agree with judges his time as TOshi is hot favorite with people of India. So commercially value versus judges stupidity only next episode will only show it. Irfan has to go out because he was too good for both harshit and abhaas to survive no doubt he was ultimate thrown out in favour of harshit. The reaction of judges clearly showed that manipulation was done. probably that’s why abhijeet was not there and alka was subdue throughout the weekend even if she favours harshit. Wanted to vote of Ishmeet so that abhaas and harshit one of them can be out but unfortunately the online voting was not working. Probably they don’t want to have international voting as they seems to be above religion, region and caste. Sad but cann’t help hopefully Toshi survives

Irfan Ali’s early ouster from Amul Star Voice of India on Friday evening may be a blessing in disguise for him. Soon after his dismissal, on Saturday morning, Irfan received a call from Vishesh Films (Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s production company) asking him to sing for their upcoming Emraan Hashmi-starrer Jannat.

Irfan almost fell off his chair when he heard the offer. He is yet to recover from the shock about his dismissal from the contest, and here the Bhatts are keen on having him for one of the crucial tracks in Jannat. Irfan says, “Many people had called and messaged me saying that they were terribly upset about my disqualification. I had not recovered from that shock when my mentor Lalitji informed me about the film with the Bhatts.”
It happened when Mukesh Bhatt was watching the particular episode of Voice of India where Irfan was eliminated. He immediately instructed his office to rope in Irfan for a track in Jannat. “According to me, he was the best amongst all the contestants. I think that I must give the boy his due,” says Mukesh.
“We have sent him the lyrics and the tune. It’s a rocking song. Bhege hoth tere of Murder made Kunal Ganjawala famous, this song of Jannat will make Irfan Ali famous too,” he adds.
Meanwhile Irfan says, “I had never dreamt of getting into films so soon. I am thankful to the Bhatts for standing up for me. I’m ready to move on and take up work.”
Irfan is a qualified engineer. He fulfilled his parents dream to become an engineer, now it’s time for him to chase his own aspirations. He records the song at Krishna Studio in Goregaon today.

Congratulations Irfan!!
I hope the offers would keep coming for you in future too. Even though Toshi is my favourite singer, many a times, I felt you sang better than him. I admit that I continued to support Toshi even after hearing your marvellous performances as a result of normal phenomenon of fan being emotional about his favourite singer and a sense of false ego comes in to admit the fact the other singer sang better than his favourite singer.
In a way the elimination of a candidate is a better thing to happen because the winner of these competitions normally gets tied down with one / two year exclusive contractual obligations and meanwhile the next runner up gets offers from films and gets ahead in the real music world. Similar thing happened with Bela, the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma, and the runner up (Shreya Ghoshal) went ahead. Now Bela is nowhere to be seen. Bela had also won the seniors Sa Re Ga Ma but runner up (Sanjivni) bagged the film singing offers. May be this time too, the history repeats itself. Best of luck to you for your future endeavors as well.

Ishmeet even the stupid Lalit has said that you will be in final. Even if he was sarcastically saying that, let it be so. Even if you cannot sing, you deserve to be in final 3. You should be VOI just to put all judges in their place. Even if you cannot get any singing contracts after VOI you should still be VOI because you deserve it.

An interesting trend has emerged.
Before wild card entry, there were top four (T-4) contestants. Then they brought in three (WC-3) contestants.
Now they are eliminating from these two categories one by one.
First went Abhilasha (T-4 contestant).
Then went Priyani (WC-3 contestant).
Then went Irfan (T-4 contestant).
if this trend continues then next one to go would be a (WC-3) contestant.
Thereafter, we would be left with three contestants (two T-4 and one WC-3).
I am afraid at this point that they (Judges, Gaj ji et al) might play with religious sentiments of the people. News from Orkut says that Abhas and Harshit are trailing. Suppose Abhas is eliminated then the three remaining contestants are Harshit (T-4) a hindu, Toshi (WC-3)a muslim and Ishmeet (T-4) a sikh. Then we might see the worst kind of begging for votes. If religious sentiments are played in the programme then that would be the worst day for VOI and its viewers.

It is my second mail to star VOI, i am regular viewer of ur program and i belong to Karachi, i remembered the first episode when all judges took oath infront of Agni that they keep away them selves from all PAKSHPAAT, but i smelling politics and favoratism in this show now. I request Mr. Abhjeet da that why are you so frustrated on the elimination of prithvi contestants u took the oath to support the singing not to support the prithvi or discourage the Agni. I know u all are very nice judges then why you are ending this show in this a bad way. Mr. Shaan is infront of you he equally encourage all then he leaves the decision upto the public. I have not interest who ever become VOI but when any body make KHILWAR with sangeet i can not tollerate. Not much like you but i also possess knowledge of “SUR & Taal”i also believe that all singers are very good and only one will become VOI not all but for God sake don’t dishonor that oath.

It is good to see the passion of all of you in this forum. Its a victory for music. We now know that the judges are also human and often lapse in their reasoning. Mr. Lalit and Adesh had already brought disrepute to this show but now even Abhijit has started his tantrums. Everybody falls to temptations. Money changes everything. Who is bothered about talent. We all know that all of the 12 contestants were good. And if given a chance, in the studio enviornment, with the facility of retakes, they can all produce great songs. They should all consider themselves winners. The actual winner may not be the best. For example, I still remember the Baghban song sung by Mirande- was perhaps if not better then at least equal to the original. ‘Kaisi Paheli’ sung by Sumitra was terrific.
So it all depends on your performance on that day. All are good singers and its about how their voice suits a particular song.
All said and done, its unfortunate that we don’t have any female singer left.
I voted for Mirande but … forget it now.
All the best to all these talented four. I feel, now Lata Mangeshkar should decide and not the people.

yes they both are wildcard entrants-true. But Toshi is better TRP stuff than Abhas- I think. So if any of them is to be sacrificed then it has to be Abhas.
I aagree with you VOI people might not play religious card but surely any further voting, would be mainly on religious lines. That is how we are in this secular country.

If Kalyani is right then my guess was correct as I had posted my comments earlier that:
I think the Judges have decided to give one bike to Harshit, maybe tomorrow he might get the bike(Votes manipulation), because of more and more Dadi drama on TV in last two shows they might try to fool us to feel that people voted more after seeing the Dadi drama, tomorrow maybe Abhas will get eliminated.
Everything is planned and Full of Votes manipulation.
So next week maybe the will eliminate Toshi and Gajja and Agni judges along with Neutral shed crocodile tears again.

yes rishi, it was not necessary, prob they brought it on….to show that ishmeet was getting his major votes from his home state whereas irfan wasnt.its obviously an eyewash to blame the viewers for a particular contestant being eliminated.which brings us to the major q….wouldnt it have been better to go back to the old format of having eminent judges select the best voice??
also, if the judges were not split into two teams, if harshits mentors were not lalit and adesh…etc etc..lot of ifs. but the whole programme was deliberately made the way they wanted it to b made, to reach this conclusion.

I have earlier also posted that the best thing they can do is to bring eminent judges (Jagjit Singh, Lataji, Ashs ji, Pandit Jasraaj and Pandit Chaurasia). These judges are either not connected with the playback singing arena or are less active now. He can take their services. Then nobody will have the complaint of bias towards a particular singer. I agree all of these singers are excellent in one way or the other. What they need is a bit of grooming, a bit of admiration from such stalvarts for boosting their morale, and good luck from the fans.
But who listens, when the prime motive is to take advantage of people’s emotions and induce people to send SMS.

If Toshi’s elimination is confirmed then there exists no more competition in the show. Coz according to me the spice in the contest would have remained if Toshi n Irfan were in Top 3 among the Top 5 tat remained these were the two guys would could give the show some standing till the end. the talk of vote manipulation is highly evident here as I fail to believe and understand tat a singer who has been getting highest votes for 2 times and has been safe after his re-entry thro wild card gets the lowest votes come on guys any person with some prudence wont believe this. Now with dhadi boy , humble kid in the block and Jatin’s fav kid remaining there is no competition left anymore.I wonder y Gaj ji who has the repute of creating such wonderful programs and concepts stooped so low tat he cant see anything beyond money in this show.I agree with my fellow bloggers tat all the 12 contestants were good in their own way. May be it’s happy Diwali for you but believe me this is really a dark day for India & it’s music industries. This is the win of corruptions & communal ism. After the last episode of Toshi’s in SVOI, the judges & director must be so much scared that if they allow Toshi into Grand Finale then he might win. Jatin, now for the first time I am wishing from deep of my heart that the weakest contestant Ishmeet should win the SVOI. Believe me that’s really my wish. Abhaas was also my choice. But now really I want to see Ishmeet should win. Because Toshi eliminated only by this bull shit judges & director . Because as long as he was out there no one was safe specially the judges Dadi cry baby Harshit once who was also my favorite. It’s sad to say that, at this 21st century still extreme communal isms exists in India. As it’s exists then I really want to see Ishmmet win this contest. But may be it’s been also written at previous that the Dadi cry baby will be SVOI.

antar, i dont agree with u.i think abhaas shd win,hes much better than the other two, even if u dont agree..on the basis of several factors since the beginning of the show….happy viewing.

SVOI main kuch bhi sahee nahee lagraha hai siwai isk k viewers ko tension diya jaraha hai Toshe jo k last two week say getting highest votes and suddenly he will be eliminated how it is possible? this is the time for Harshit for elimination. i hate all judges of SVOI.bachon ke tarhan deal karay hain.kisi bhe contestant ko apna favourit nahe bana chaye.Ishmeet ko SVOI hana chayae.

Abhijeet is jealous of Kumar Shanu and that is why he did not like Harshit’s song. Ishmeet, surprisingly singing well. Abhas sang very well (the second one) no doubt but yet to do the same for all songs. Toshi is hyped as always…
But I miss Irfan…the best singer…

I think you are right, jatin and a few others you named are one person… hey wait… it’s ISHMEET himself.
When he was singing Masha Allah, I was thinking of only one thing.. to get inside the TV and slap him. He does not even think of paying minimum respect to his “sardar” voters by singing the song with min 10% accuracy.
He is not innocent, but most chalaak of all.

Does somebody have an AK-47, i wanna shoot Lalit for his continous effort of criticising the poor chap ishmeet even when he sang so well.
Sorry state of aukat he has got. lagta hey iske ma bap ne isse kisi gandi nali se uthaya tha. Even the ones who dont like him might agree with me that he was clearly biased.

hi all,
today u r all saying that irfan was a good si nger because he is no longer in the show now.
tell me what kind of show is this when judges , who are suppose to be neutral and apprceiate every singer were seen Jumping and hugging (ADESH AND JATIN, THE 02 FOOLS in the show)in favour of Harshit, does not it will urt Irfan when he sees that video.
It clearly shows they are disgrace to the word , Judge itself.
If we can openly see the Dirty Tamasha of the Judges role, what about the Judiciary which is behind the scenes.
These fools and bewkoofs like Adesh and Jatin should not be considered for any Chair in future.
Also Adesh was thrown out of the Jhalak Dikhla Ja himself , that shows waht talent he has as an individual and his image in public.
If they say sms is making people win, its only SMS Income that is moving these shows.
People like Harshit , who openly critisize and discourage other participants that they by taking advantage of his poor Dadi.
Also he siad dirty comments that he used to discuss with Irfan that He,Toshi and Irfan would be in finals.
Now Irfan has been thrown out of his overconfidence, its turn of Harshit to be thrown now, At leat he sings like Kumar Sanu, then Original Kumar Sanu is ok for us.

Hi Everyone,
Let no one be in doubt that Abhas is the star voice of India.Others are no match to him.He has his original voice coming from somewhere within so naturally that a gifted singer can have it.
I think rest is all drama.If he does not win due to money power of Ishmeet or judges support to Harshit it will be greatest fraud on indian public.

i think that this is a good show to make all the world fool and nothing, can any body give me answer that is this possible that toshi is coming on first positon from two last episode and sunndenly next show he is elaminated. i think no body can come on first position which man have orignal and best voice only that man come on first position which man have money to give the organization team, not only jatin or alka all the judges are mantal case and they need the help of mantal hospital
