    Thanks for the video:-)

Anwesha was great. No one can beat her on her best day. Keep up this consistency and you will be fine.

The highlight of the show is surely the rocking mimicry performance of vyom. But, i call the star performer of the day, Aishwarya. Judges are really trying to test her to maximum extent. otherwise, her performance should never be ranked Atiuttam. Soniya, and Anwesha ranks next in the row.

Excellent show of 2008, I have to saythis that last year I only use to see sa re ga ma pa but this year I come home early on Friday and saturday to see Star Voice of India Chote Ustaad…I don’t think but I’m 101% confident that chote ustaad is 2008′s best talent hunt show. Non the less I’m big big fan of Abhaas at the age of 19 -20 yrs his a rocking host. I have never seen such a energetic young host to date…the organisers should be proud of him coz I am….keep up the excellent work Abhaas…can’t say anything about the contestants coz they all are so good that I find it hard to vote for any 1 in particular….I think all are the winners…please congratulate Abhaas and all contestants on my behalf in your next week’s episode….I will be waiting for next episode….Till than Cheers :)

    hi to all
anwesha is simply good.i just dnt knw hw she come at 4th position.hw sonia n prakirti can beat her.and above all hw prakriti can come at 1st position.seriously nt bearable….i wish anwesha grow up in pubic rating too.

Aishwarya was also exceptionally good and also sang a much tougher song than Anwesha. I don’t understand how all the judges could give her only Attiuttam.

In my opinion the judges are giving deliberately low points (as low as they dare) to Aishwarya and Prakriti because they have high votes. They want to bunch the field together to create more excitement in future and in turn more SMS money.

All in all, it was unfair for Aishwarya to be given such low points.

After the last few episodes, I feel Vyom is doing a nice job. Love the song choice and his comedic side — definitely a good combo for a future career, I think! Sonya and Rigwed are really shaping up too– Sonya’s song suited her well. (Prakriti, eh, I don’t like her as much.)

‘Awara Bhanwre’ is one of my favorite songs and Aishwarya put so much sweetness to the song. Anwesha also did a marvelous job — these two, even if they someone don’t win, have a fabulous future made.

Can’t wait for the next episode… this show is much better than SRGMP Lil Champs!

I can vote only one as because out of country, but I will force my relative to vote her as much as possible. She is gr…….8. She is not only Sarataj Sarvottam but she is “Super Sartaj Sarvottam”also.

Bengal was the capital of India for almost 200yrs in British Raj.
culture & education were the prime movers In Bengal. (two :east & west): Music and singing with poerty all these are cultural.folk songs of Lalan fakir could never be anywhere but kushtia > Bangladesh.Rabindra nathTagore’s zamindari and most writing were in shiladah, faridpur.salil choudhury>ali akbar khan>ravi shankar>jivananda and many many others. BANGLADESH is very green, delta of 13 rivers, fertile land>this landscape and nature create profound effect on mind.zatra, pala Gan all started in Bengal.DACCA was capital of Bengal before calcutta.FISH diet is definitely related to 3mega & 6 Mega fatty acids with rich folic acid in diet > full development of central nervous system >cogntion & intuition. 3NOBEL LAUREATES OF INDIA are from BENGAL.11 WORLDCLASS SCIENTISTS &4 renowned MATHMETICIANS OF INDIA ARE BENGALI.rest i can go on another 1000 pages…….

i think in this episode Aishwarya deserved “Just About Sarvottam” if not Sarvottam. she is a great singer and should never be put DOWN like this. In most of the episodes she has been singing difficult songs very nicely. this song has such high notes which is difficult to sing. Still she managed it very well. Earlier also on very ordinary performances these same judges have given “Just About Sarvottam” to other singers. Then why NOT Aishwarya?

  17. By Anonymous on Feb 24, 2008 | Reply

I’m amazed at the quality of young singers on this show. They all far surpass any of the sub-par and rather mediocre singers from Saregamapa lil’ champs. Only in the contestants of Chhote Ustaad, do I see a potential career in playback singing (namely for Aishwarya and Anwesha). Too bad this show does not receive the trp ratings of Saregamapa, because surely if it did, Anwesha, one of the best singers in this show, would be getting plenty of votes, as her Bengail counterpart in Saregamapa lil’ champs, Anamika, always gets every week. And Anwesha is a far superior performer than Anamika. This is unjust! Bengalis have always come through for their homegrown singers. They are known for their rabid voting abilities (remember Aneek Dhar). So the only reason I can come up with, which could possibly explain the lack of votes for a great singer like Anwesha, is that less number of audience equals less number of votes. More Bengalis should be watching this and not Zee Tv, as only then will they be truly able to discover true talent.

ANVESHA WAS SUPERB. SHE IS FULLY EQUIPPED TO SING FOR ANY HINDI/BENGALI ACTORS. THOUGH QUALITY OF SONGS PRESENTLY COMPOSED BY YOUNG MUSIC DIRECTORS ARE DEVOID OF CLASSICAL CONTENT NEVERTHELESS SHE AND AISHWARYA ARE NOW ON THRESHOLD OF PROMISING CAREER IN MUSIC. ANWESHA FULLY DESERVED THREE SARTAJ SARVOTTAM-THE HIGHEST RATING WHICH HAS CEMENTED HER PLACE IN FINALS. AISHWARYA ALONG WITH VYOM ARE OTHER CERTAINTIES IN TOP 5. RIGVED CAME UP WITH MUCH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE. PRAKRITI AND SONIYA SHOULD CONCENTRATE HARD TO AVOID ELIMINATION. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT SONG SELECTION PLAYS SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN QUALITY AND STANDARD OF YOUR PERFORMANCE .WHILE VYOM WAS LUCKY IN GETTING OLD CLASSICS TO SING PRAKRITI WAS THE UNLUCKIEST. SHE HAS NOT BEEN FULLY TESTED . GIVE HER ‘RASIK BALMA—FROM CHORI CHORI’ OR AAP KI NAZRON NE SAMJA—FROM ANPAD’ OR MAIN TO TUM SANG NAIN MILAKE HAAR GAYI SAJNA–FROM MANMAUJI OR OH BASANTI PAWAN PAAGAL—FROM JIS DESH MAIN GANGA BEHTI HAI. SHE WILL CERTAINLY SING ANY OF THESE SONGS BETTER THAN ORDINARY SONGS SHE HAS RENDERED SO FAR.
IT WAS NOT VYOM WHO ALL OF SUDDEN MADE THE VIEWING ABSORBING BUT MAGIC OF LAXMIKANT-PYARELAL WHOSE MELODY AANE SE USKE AAYE BAHAR—FROM JEENE KI RAH CREATED HYPNOTIC SPELL ON VIEWERS. THE MUSICIANS FERFORMED WITH GREAT SPIRIT. ORCHESTRA WAS SIMPLY MIND BLOWING AND ASSISTED THE PERFORMER IMMENSELY.
IT IS MY FIRM BELIEF THAT IF SOME MELODIUS OLD SONGS ARE INCLUDED IN EVERY EPISODE THE SHOW WILL BE MORE ENJOYABLE.
AFTER EXIT OF SONU NIGAM AMAAN AND AYAAN COMPERED THE SHOW WITHOUT MUCH CHANGE IN SELECTION OF SONGS BUT ONCE SHAAN TOOK OVER THE POP MUSIC REPLACED THE MELODY. I RANG UP GAJENDRA SINGH AND TRIED TO IMPRESS UPON HIM THE SELECTION OF CLASSICAL BASED SONGS FOR THE SHOW. THE ACE DIRECTOR WAS GRACIOUS ENOUGH TO LISTEN TO ME FOR A FEW MINUTES .I TOLD GAJENDRA SINGH THAT HIS MUSIC SHOW IS GENERALLY WATCHED BY MUSIC LOVERS ALL OVER THE WORLD WHO WANT TO HEAR MELODIUS SONGS AND NOT POP NUMBERS AS THE MIDDLE-AGED AND OLD PEOPLE WOULD NOT LIKE TO SHAKE LEG ON POP NUMBERS IN FRONT OF THEIR TELEVISION SETS.
THE MUSIC COACHES OF THE SHOW ANAND SHARMA IS SON OF GREAT EXPONENT OF CLASSICAL MUSIC ASKRAN SHARMA . I HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER THE OTHER GURU ANNU KAPPU IS STILL WITH GAJENDRA SINGH.
SOME OF THE SONGS SUNG BY SONU NIGAM AND SOME OF THE PARTICIPANTS ON THE PLATFORM OF GAJENDRA’S SHOW WERE BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL SONGS. SONU NIGAM’S ‘YEH HAWA YEH RAAT YEH CHAANDNI—FROM FILM’SANGDIL’ IS CONSIDERD BY ME AS ONE OF THE OUTSTANDING RENDITIONS ON MUSIC SHOW. SONU SOUNDED MORE MELODIUS AND PERFECT THAN LEGEND TALAT MAHMOOD.ONE OF GIRLS IN THE AUDIENCE COULD NOT HOLD BACK HER TEARS AS SHE WAS WATCHING SONU SINGING AWAY’TUJE KYA KHABAR AI WOH BEKHABAR TERI IK NAZAR MAIN HAI KYA ASAR—’ THE QUALITY OF LYRICS IN FILMS HAS DETERIORATED. THE VULGARITY AND OBSCENITY HAS REPLACED MEANINGFUL BEAUTIFUL POETRY OF RAJA MEHDI ALI KHAN KAIFI AZMI SHAKEEL BADAYUNI SHAILENDRA HASRAT JAIPURI RAJINDER KRISHIN PRADEEP JAAN NISSAR AKHTAR ETC.
GHULAM ALI CONSIDERED TO BE A GREAT GAZAL SINGER IS OVER SHADOWED BY YOUNG SNEHA PANT WHEN SHE SANG ONE OF LEGEND’S GAZAL’S'TERI TASVEER KO AANKHON SE LAGATA KYA HAI—. IN GAJENDRA’S SHOW.A FLAWLESS RENDITION FROM A TEENAGER. YOU MAY WATCH THIS NUMBER ON YOU TUBE SITE. JUST TYPE SNEHA PANT.
I HOPE THE SANITY WILL RETURN TO THIS GREATEST MUSIC SPECTACLE AND OLD CHARM AND GRACE WILL BE BACK.

Hello Dr. Biswas, I am also a Bengali and curently living in Bay Area, CA. I am not sure if you should write all these about Bengal and its Laureates.. I guess we are all Indians first.. let’s stop regionalism and self propaganda ..(other states had great men too) and look at the contestants from the technical calibre please.. that’s probably the sign of a healthy mind and nation.

In this episode, I had tooooooo much of expectation from Anwesha since this was song composed by loRD (Pancham da). In the first two words “La~a~la”, the “a” in between two ‘La’ did not come otu very prominently as Asha has done (hammer-on notes), anyways I guess it is just my pre-conceived high expectations. The first “Choti Si Kahaani’ did not strike right as Asha has done. I strongly feel these small things are very critical in bringing out the over colour of the song. Considering that Asha dubbed it with Dual track, I will give some credit to Anwesha for try to do same on the stage at times. The first word “Shakhon” did not come in its full colour again… as I was expecting. I liked the extra or different lala she did at antara. .. I think it gave a nice texture to the whole scale. The way asha has sung “Saare Waade” is out of the world.. all these small things made these people legends..overall I liked her singing today but was not satisfied with a full belly as I am usally by watching her.. I will defintely support her because she is technically superb .. a little more feeling and throw especiall when singing a song composed by pancham and sung by Asha. Aur thoda mehnat karo Anwesha..

Dr. Biswas .. I was thinking you can be more polite and less clamorous. It is a well known fact that in a country where the culture changes every 250 Kms, people are bound to be biased towards their culture.. but I thought that when a person goes through 12 years of basic primary education he acquires and understand certain basic facts and develops some amount of logical aptitude. Many non-bengalis admire Satyajit Ray as well. Everyone faces hurdles in life and may be it was a bad pacth in Satyajit Ray’s life as well, did he not make any Hindi movie then ? As for saying “Aur thoda Mehnat Karo” to Anwesha It was just a remark not in any bad taste in case you were thinking so.. I felt she was could bring the colour to the song at places, and I have always praised her for her technical calibre and yes Judges are superior so my opinion is just an opinion, no need to create a fuss out of it.. You may try to be a little more polite in your written language just to be gentlemen. If the entire state of Maharastra was with Raj, then by today they would have formed an independent country of Maharastra hope that explains a lot of things.. Do not get hyper and try to be polite especially when you are doc.

i agree with you. the Judges could have easily given her “JUST ABOUT SARVOTTAM” as they have done earlier for others. It was a difficult song with very high notes and Aishwarya could sing it very well without slipping form her SUR even once.Judges must give her credit for her fantastic control over SUR.
All in all, it was unfair to give this kind of low marks to Aishwarya.

In the meantimem the judges should desist from unfairly pulling down Aishwarya and I hope the judges will start to act with more maturity.

  38. By Gautam Salla on Feb 25, 2008 | Reply

I completely agree with you. A song with such high notes is difficult to sing. But Aishwarya could do it flawlessly. It deserved nothing else but ‘SARVOTTAM’. I think even if Ms. Shreya had sung it it would have sounded the same.
If nothing else, they should have given her ‘SARVOTTAM’ only for her control of her SUR at such high notes!!
I really don`t understand why are they being so unfair towards Aishwarya.

I don1t think Anvesha deserved SARTAJ SARVOTTAM from all the three judges in comparison with hte way they gave ATI UTTAM to Aishwareya. Is there a plan to intentionally put Aishwarya down like this? Or is the winner already decided, that the judgement is sooooo baised! Yesterday Aishwrya was not given SARTAJ SARVOTTAM just because of a minute fraction of a second gap between two words. And today they felt that `usne khul ke nahi gaya`. For Anvesha also one of the judges said `agarkhul ke gaya hota to aur maza ata`.Still she was given 3SARTAJ SARVOTTAM. Yesterday also for Anvesha` very ordinary performance she was given SARVOTTAM, where she deserved JUST ABOUT ATI UTTAM. Gajendra Singh, please WAKE UP> These is total UNFAIR to that LITTLE GIRL. Can these Judges even think of what they are doing to her Psycho?

I agree with you. Still she was given 3 SARTAJ SARVOTTAM. I think she deserved SARVOTTAM. Only when the performance is extra ordinary, then it is given SARTAJ SARVOTTAM. She definitely lacked in the diction and feelings. Comparing Aishwarya`s performance, she emotes very well while singing. So even though, Anvesha is technically superb, she surely lacks in emotions-on her face and in her singing. Beware!

on Saturday`s performance Anvesha was given SARTAJ SARVOTTAM by all three judges. Pritamda himself said that he was really scared on Friday for her performance. he said that he could not understand what was wrong with her yesterday. Still he could give SARVOTTAM to her. Then what was his problem with Aishwarya? Here he could not give SARVOTTAM? she really did justice to a very difficult song for her age. Why didn`t these judges compare Anvesha`s earlier performances with that one? They did that for Aishwarya a couple of times. Or hruch young children. They could harm their spirit for good. JUDGES! BE CAREFUL! YOU DON`T SOUND VERY FAIR AND JUST.

MANY VIEWERS ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH THE JUDGE’S VOTING IN THIS EPISODE. LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO WATCHED THIS EPISODE FEEL THAT AWARDING THREE SARTAJ SARVOTTAM TO ANVESHA AND THREE ATTIUTTAM TO AISHWARYA MIGHT TILT THE FINAL RESULT IN FAVOUR OF ANVESHA.
I AGREE WITH THEM COMPLETELY . OBVIOUSLY AISHWARYA’S FANS ARE VERY ANGRY. AT THIS STAGE JUDGES SHOULD BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHILE AWARDING GRADES TO SINGERS. THE JUDGES HAVE BLUNDERED WHILE COMPARING PERFORMANCES OF TWO TOP SINGERS WITHOUT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE SELECTION OF SONGS.ANVESHA’S SONG SUITED HER . IT WAS A SAUCY NUMBER FULLY BACKED BY VIBRANT ORCHESTRA WHICH HELPED THE PERFORMER CONSIDERABLY.WHILE HEMA SARDESAI’S SONG SUNG BY AISHWARYA WAS QUITE LISTLESS AND EVEN THE BEST SINGER COULD NOT HAVE IMPRESSED THE LISTENERS.
AS JUDGES VOTING WILL HAVE 50% WEIGHTAGE AND VIEWERS VOTING 50% WHICH IS A GREAT DECISION , THE MINDLESS VOTING BY JUDGES WILL DEPRIVE ONE OF THE EQUALLY TALENTED SINGERS A RIGHTFUL PLACE IN FINAL RESULTS.
IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES IT WOULD BE BETTER TO LET ANWESHA AND AISHWARYA SELECT ONE SONG EACH AND BOTH OF THEM SHOULD SING SAME TWO SONGS. GIVE THEM COMPLETE FREEDOM AT THIS STAGE AND DO NOT THRUST UPON THEM SONGS WHICH ARE NOT WORTH LISTENING TO. HOPE BETTER SENSE WILL PREVAIL AND FULL JUSTICE WILL BE DONE TO TALENTED YOUNG LADIES AT THE DOOR OF GREAT CAREER IN PLAYBACK SINGING.

ppl are saying that ” they are kids so dont put so much pressure on them.”
and look at the blogs they have written above…. have you ever thought that you are listening to those kids who are below 14 years…. moreover they are not professional at all….

I hope they dont go through all these rubbish blogs …. u pppl are putting immense pressure on them not the judges are doing so….

dont compare anybody with others…. do support ur fav participant… do talk abt his/ her plus points or minus points but kindly dont try to compare with others…u shud watch ” Taare Zamin Paar”…. ha ha ha.. pressure of expectations…

kindly enjoy their performance and let them enjoy their singing…

    Dear Viewers,

    1. There is no doubt that these young stalwarts are giving their best through their performances. Each one of them, in their own respective field, is a genious. Be it Aishwariya, or Sonia, or Anwesha, or Prakriti or Vyomm, they all are a class by themselves. On the basis of one song in any one particular show it is very difficult to pin point any one as the best. To me each one of them, right now, is ready to sing as a playback singer for any indian movie. You can take them to the recording room, and see for yourself as to what a flawless outcome they produce. They are all gifted by the God Almighty. Why am I saying so, because if people like Himesh, and some of the other composers (no names) can sing for the movies, then these children, who are equally good if not better than them, should be given an oportunity to sing for us as playback singers. And I have no doubt in my mind that these very composers will be too happy to pick them up for their new compositions.

    2. However, for those of my young friends who are passing their comments about Prakriti, or any other contestent, I would humbly request them to visit the Eastern part of our country and feel for themself as to what kind of secluded life these people lead, totally devoid of most of the facilities that most of us dwelling in the cities have. We should learn to appreciate these kids who are there to enthral us through the sweet songs that they sing for all of us. We need to be considerate in appreciating their valuable talent, and should have the decency to overlook their minor mistakes. I am so much impressed and touched by little girls Sonia, and Aishwariya that what a great gift of humility and powerful voice they have been blessed with. I am equally appreciative of Vyomm, and Anwesha, and Prakriti. If you do not look at the screen, and for a moment turn your back, and listen to Vyomm, you will feel as if Rafi Sahib is singing and has come out of Heavens to enthrol us with his melodious voice. It is an honour for all of us to hear these children singing for us.

    3. I have a small suggestion for the judges (with no malice, of course, towards anyone of them) that they should use their jurisprudence while giving their judgement in passing their comments. I have observed with a little concern that some of you do show your bias in favour of Anwesha, she being from Bengal. When you sit on a chair of judgement, first and foremost you are an Indian, and a proud Indian, and not a Bengali, or Marathi, or Gujrati, or Punjabi. The National Anthem was written by a proud Indian who, of course, was a Bengali, and we all are proud of his inheritance. If you play the past videos and pay attention to listen to what comments you passed on each participant, you will realize it for yourself, in retrospect, as to what ammends you need to make.

May God Bless these small gems, who, we are proud of as respectful Indians.
With lots of love to all these young children.
    God Bless.

according to my opinion judges r giving points to each participant acc ot there pubilc voting.
means if thy doesnt suppport anwesha she will fall down in total ranking(judges+pubilc voting)as she is on 4th num in pubilc rating and if thy support aish she will rise too much as she score 2nd position.
we all knw praktiri is nt too gud as compare too both “A” bt stand on 1st position.so she got only uttam frm judges so tht she can come down……bcz prakriti acc to me doesnt deserve to be became chote ustaad.Only his cast is a major advantage fr her due to which she is getting max votes……her voice too soft n it seems v r listening to some child voice…nt d one of d top 5 participant of such a big show.
judges r doing a gud job no doubt bcz thy dnt want non deserving child to become CU….

50% of the marks from voting of public + 50% marks of evaluation from judges.
    voting public:
Regionalism, lack of music knowledge and passive attitude = voting marks
    This should be eliminated.
why?: This 50% Marks ultimately add to select a wrong person, not a desreving candidate> A child’s career and emotional stress> DEMORALISING EFFECT.THIS IS STATISTICALLY A BIASED OPINION >.
THE ONLY WAY TO FAIRNESS FOR MERIT IS TO ELIMINATE THIS SYSTEM OF PUBLIC VOTING AND BRING JUSTICE.
STAGE JUDGES DECISON: THOSE JUDGES WHO WILL BE PRESENT ON THE PERFORMANCE.
OFF STAGE JUDGES :This will be competant ex-singers/singers who could view the video clips /video conferencing and give their secret marks.
VOICE SOUND ANALYSER:This machine analyses the sound to its elements and judges them.
This modern techniques are adopted in many musical competative events.

    Hi Avi,

I am a Bengali too but I do not like other Bengalis telling what we have and had before. Every state has their own culture and great people so it is baseless to say it all here. We are Indian first so I am proud of Ravindra nath Tagore as well as C V Raman or Pandit Bhim Sen Joshi or Kalpana Chowla or anyone from India. We are mainly here to support the young talent.

Devkishin..I think it’s just a matter of personal opinion when you say that these singing shows should include more old songs. I personally enjoy it when the contestants sing newer songs. I think new songs test a different singing ability than the old songs and vice versa. I think it’s just a matter of personal choice and age.

The immense pleasure they have given us is beyond words. My family says” as if we have adopted these kids in our home”. Time to go for all of them after the final event but the memory will linger quite sometime. we wish them good health and success.

    FOR YOUNG(PRESUMABLY) SEEMA.
THE REAL MUSIC IS THAT WHICH TOUCHES YOUR SOUL-WHICH CALMS YOUR NERVES- .THE STUFF BEING DISHES OUT BY THE PRESENT BUNCH OF COMPOSERS IS NOTHING BUT RUBBISH. JUST ASK THEM IF THEY THEMSELVES REMEMBER THEIR OWN COMPOSITIONS AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THE VERY FACT THAT OLD AS WELL AS YOUNG GENERATION (QUITE A LARGE CHUNK)ENJOY MELODIUS SONGS OF MADAN MOHAN SHANKAR-JAIKISHAN LAXMIKANT-PYARELAL SD BURMAN RAVI RD BURMAN AND NADEEM -SHRAVAN AND ABOVE ALL LEGEND NAUSHAD BEARS TESTIMONY TO VERY HIGH STANDARD OF MEANIGFUL SIMPLE LYRICS AND CLASSICAL SEMI-CLASSICAL BASED SONGS WHICH ARE LIKED AND ENJOYED EVEN AFTER DECADES.
YOUNG LADY IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT THAT YOU ENJOY LISTENING TO NEW (MOSTLY LIFTED FROM OUTHER SOURCES) SONGS. YOU HAVE GROWN UP IN THIS AGE – THE AGE OF POP MUSIC – EVERY TEENAGER WANTS TO SHAKE LEG AND INDULGE IN SOME FUNNY MOVEMENTS (SOMETIMES ALMOST BORDERING ON VULGARITY). IN FACT TODAY’S SONGS HAVE PROVED TO BE BLESSING IN DISGUISE PARTICULARLY FOR FILM ACTORS AS QUICK MOVEMENTS WHICH ARE MORE LIKE AN EXERCISE RATHER THAN DANCING HELPS THEM TO LOOK TRIM AND SLIM UNLIKE ACTORS OF YESTER -YEAR DILIP KUMAR RAJ KAPOOR ASHOK KUMAR RAJENDRA KUMAR MEENA KUMARI NARGIS ETC. THEY WOULD HAVE CUT A VERY SORRY FIGURE HAD THEY INDULGED IN MODERN (DIRTY)DANCING WITH PELVIC THRUSTS AND WHAT NOT.IF YOU GROW UP EATING FAST FOOD YOU WILL STICK TO THAT AS YOU HAVE NOT TASTED THE TASTY SUMPTUOUS MEAL ON BANANA LEAF.
THE RATING BY THE JUDGES WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT HAD ANWESHA RENDERED MEDIOCRE SONG SUNG BY AISHWARYA AND AISHWARYA HAD SUNG ANWESHA’S SONG.

sorry mate urvasi i think u understood in different way,,,,,but u knew that judges gave just utam for prakirti although she sang upto SARVOTAM because to make equal all.why they are doing so there is no reason ,,they must judge what the singer perform like and in other hand public vote for their favourite singer .it is fair enough .judges can;t let any singer down although doing their best.in my thoughts ,in the case of prakirti, judges don;t want her to be chote ustad simply bcoz she is nepalese origin so changed the rule 50-50 public n judge so they can let her down prakirti (utam utam utam )to the bottem and easy to get her out ,thats just a politics made by them.but truth is truth all singers have equal quality but in public ratig prakirti is the best,,i say there r just 3 judges but billions of public are behind prakirti SO BEST OF LUCK PRAKIRTI U R THE WINNER ,THAT USTAZ TAZ IS URRS GO AHEAD

    Gurgrunji…

Yes Amit Paul forgot the song I remember…that does not mean that Prashant is a good singer …forgetting the lines in between the song does not have any relation to the quality of the voice, here in chotte ustad Ashwariya, Areeb, Anwesha , Soniya even Prakiriti all of them forgot the song they sanged . I am talking about the voice quality. Prashant surely deserve to be in the Indian Idol but he was not the best I agree that if he would had received the training he would had done better for sure. I am not saying Nepalees cannot sing…we have Udit Narayan and she is an amazing singer. I am just talking about an individual and that is Prashant. To me Deepali, Avishek, Emon and Amit were much better singer then Prashant. Prakriti has sweet voice but she needs a guru , she can be a very good singer like ashwariya and Anwesha once prakriti also gets some tarining in music. Let me tell you Hinustani music is not easy as you think. Otherwise people would not have learnt Hindustani/Karanatak classical music for years and years.

Devkishin..I’ve heard older songs but I just like new songs better and while I think there are more songs produced nowadays that are not worthy of remembering..I think there are loads and loads of good songs. My favorites: woh lamhe, tere bin, teri deewani, mera dholna, pyaar karke song. My point is I think these songs have amazing tunes, good lyrics etc. and it just depends on what you like. I don’t think you can say old songs generally are superior to new songs. Although, I definitely agree that there are some new songs out trying to copy the rap craze that are very vulgar!! Anyways, I would implore Gajji to have them sing new songs but I know it’s just a matter of taste. = )

for seema . by the way are you the same seema who is in gajendra singh’s team of saregamapa?
i do like some compositions of present generation of music directors;but you can count them on your fingers.i personally feel that the highest paid composer of today is grossly over-rated.he has hardly half a dozen hits to his credit.the work of jatin-lalit, himmesh reshamiya, shankar ehsaan loy , anu malik,salim-sulaiman cannot be compared with that of shankar-jaikishan, madan mohan, laxmikant-pyarelal ,kalyanji-anandji, sd burman ,rd burman naushad and even nadeem-shravan.
a duet from film” khakee” rendered by shreya ghoshal/sonu nigam/udit narayan is one of the most melodius duets composed recently by a new composer. i would like to hear that song on the stage of chhote ustad .abhaas can either sing with shreya or all the four female singers of the show .it will create electifying atmosphere on stage as there is powerful rhythm and voi orchestra is performing brilliantly .each participant can sing one antara.more after hearing your viewes about selection of songs in gajendra’s show which is watched by millions of music lovers in all the 5 continents .god bless you.

Elimination round – Rigved, Prakriti,Vyom & Sonia. These singers will be eliminated one by one. Of course, judges will decide the order.
Lets see who is the third singer who will come in top 3 with Anwesha & Ashwariya.Judges will select their third favorite. Public voting ?
All singers are singing so good.

Gajendra singh wants to make hay while the Sun is shining. Very soon you will get an opportunity to watch his new show on channel 9x -a talent hunt show comprising of music, dance and acting-all-in-one.
As a person Gajendra Singh does not believe in blowing his own trumpet. He is very shy and unassuming individual. SAREGAMAPA reality music show was the idea of Gajendra Singh . Luckily he got in touch with Sonu Nigam and they were engaged by zee channel to translate their concept into a reality. The first episode titled SANGAM- on the advice of Sonu Nigam SANGAM became SAREGAMA- was telecast in early 90s when none of the present participants in chhote ustad had arrived in this world.A similar show was presented by Lata Mangeshkar on another channel . Sunidhi Chavan is a discovery of that show.SAREGAMA’S main discoveries are Shreya Ghoshal,Sneha Pant,Salamat, Kunal Ganjawala,Neha Rajpal,Sudheshna Ganguli ,Parthiv Gohil and about ten to twelve others who have playbacked in films . This is indeed a very great contribution of Gajendra Singh and Sonu Nigam to World of film music . The large number of singers are performing abroad in music shows.Gajendra Singh is not only a pioneer in music reality shows in India but has been instrumental in launching many a great career in play back singing. Many families have settled down in Mumbai in posh localities after their children earning fame in Gajendra Singh’s shows. This is how I in my own small way describe the unparralled contribution of a man called Gajendra Singh who has proved to be a genius in hunting music talent in this country. This country may not produce another Gajendra singh. I SALUTE HIS SPIRIT AND DEDICATION TO HIS GREAT ART.

i agree with Amal over here. one more thing you have forgotten – SONIA forgot again in this same episode and still managed to get THREE SARVOTTAM from all the Judges. On the SAME DAY why Aishwarya got ATI UTTAM from all of them is very difficult to understand. Certainly, one would expect totally FAIR JUDGING from such talented people sitting there.

You are Right. Did you see the full episode? Did you feel at any point that Sonia sang so beautifully that she deserved SARTAJ SARVOTTAM, but the negative marking got her down to SARVOTTAM. I think they should show their marking system to the public to clear all the doubts. Prakriti also could not sing and had to take rest in the same show. Still why only AISHWARYA was punished and given only ATI UTTAM from all of them? And for what REASON? the comments given by these talented Judges sounded Baseless.did you ever feel that the song which got THREE SARTAJ SARVOTTAM ever deserved that? Surely much more MATURITY is required from them at this point in the competition.

just now i heard the original version of Aawara Bhawaren back to back with Aishwarya`s version. BELIEVE ME-She sang exactly the same as Hemaji. Ms Shreya claims that she knows how it is in the original version and Aishwarya did not sing it that way, then I think she MUST have heard it long time ago and so she did not remember it well. Grow up,Mam. You are sitting on a very sensitive position here and so can not afford to gooooff up here! Now music is available everywhere and even on the net. Anwesha is one of the best singers to have come along in a long long time. She is unbelievably good , she dosen’t even miss one note. Aishwarya has a very beautiful voice but she misses the ‘SUR’ sometimes. Also nobody can modulate their voice like Anwesha can. Just listen to ‘Mere dholna’,’ Maiya Maiya” Bawariara re’ and ‘Hum dil de chuke sanam’ and you’ll see the modulation and variation in her voice.Even Shreya said that only great singers can modulate their voice like Anwesha had done! She sounds not only awesome but totally different in every song. Tell me, can anybody else do the same? My request is to all the music lovers of the world please vote for the deserving candidate. Please forget about regionalism and just for once vote for the the singer who really deserves it.

My two favorite contestants are Aishwarya and Anwesha. They are both excellent singers. However, i feel that the judges are very biased – Especially Pritam. What I have found is that when his favorite performer is threatened he starts soliciting for the public vote by throwing tantrums. All three don’t know the meaning of being a judge.

Judging has to be unbaised and open. Even if you favour one contestant over another you as a judge should not solicit for votes. It is very unfair and demoralizing to the other contestants.

Frankly the drama that goes on during the show out performs and shadows the wonderful performances and great effort these young ones are putting. My request to the show organizers would be to take a note from Sa Re Ga Ma Lil’Champs judging guru Suresh Wadkar and Sonu Nigam who have been absolutely wonderful and unbiased thru out their show. They give constructive criticism and their criticism motivates the performer.

And a note to Aabhas please stop bring up the subject of conflict between Anwesha and Aishwarya. It is a very cheap attempt at creating drama. Please learn something from Shaan and Aditya.

    @Jhanvi,

It is not Abhaas who wrote that script, he says what Gajji wants him to say. They have script writers for that so don’t blame him. He is not from showbiz background and doing a pretty good job as a first timer so please stop comparing him with already established singers/host.

Some more lilting melodies for participants are suggested. These songs will not only make the show more enjoyable but will help the viewers to select the best talent.
    1. Oh basanti pawan pagal naja re naja roko kohi–yaad kar tune kaha tha pyar se sansar hai hum jo hare dil ki bazi yeh teri hi haar hai–(these words flowing from the vocal chords of young anwesha and aishwarya will elecrify the environments)
2.Ruke ruke se kadam ruk ke bar bar chale–A very soft melody rendered superbly by Lata for Madan Mohan.
3.Na koi umang hai na koi tarang hai meri zindagi hai kya ik kati patang hai—sapno ke devta kya tujko karun main arpan –a haunting melody superbly composed by Pancham and very feelingly sung by Lata.
Above songs are evergreen hits and it requires great talent and skill to match Lata’s standard. There will never be another Lata Mangeshkar – a Living Legend but singing her immortal songs still create mesmerising effect.

Yogi what Jhanvi said was correct. There was no need to waste precious time in such a world class programme. The director/script writer should take note of such comments and refrain from including meaningless phrases. As far as Abhaas is concerned he is doing a magnificent job as a host, but he is not cut out for that job as a great career as a playback singer is knocking at his door.Gajendra Singh better look for another host and allow young Abhaas to concentrate on his career as a playback singer.I have Abhaas’s recordings of his performance as a child artist in Gajendra Singh’s SAREGAMAPA show. He was a winner in that competition and his performance was brilliant.

hello sageeta ji,,,,thanx for reply.thanx for agree with me in above some matters.but i wanna say onething is nobody is perfect even the judges, musicians whoever they can be the best not perfect ok.every singers have their own style, voices etc but the thing is different SUR IN SINGING,PERSONALITY,OBIDIENTNESS ETC.I DO NOT AGREE THAT PRASHANT WERE WORSE THAN OTHERS BUT I MAY BE AGREE IF U SAY ALL WERE EQUALLY TALANTED.BUT IN THE CASE OF PRASHANT,HE WAS FAR BETTER THAN OTHERS IN ABOVE MATTERS WHICH I MENTIONED AND THESE WERE DISTINGUISHED MARKS.OK U TELL ME IF PRASHANT IS EQUALLY TALENTED WITH OTHER CONTISTANTS WITHOUT TRAIN THEN HOW BEST WILL BE IN THE FUTURE,THAT IS CRYSTAL CLEAR,,,OK REMEMBER THE SONG (KUCH NAH KAHO)WOW HOW SWEET IT WAS.AS JABED SAID THAT SONG REMINDED HIM ABOUT RD BERMAN,ALISHA ALSO GOT SHOCK ALTHOUGH SHE WOULD NEVER FAVOUR HIM.OK U MA KNOW THAT WHEREVER THE PRASHNT GO UK,USA,HK,,,,,,HE ALWAYS TAKE SOME OF HIS FRIEND AMIT,CHANG,DEEPALI CHARU PUJA ANKITA ALL HE IS REALLY FRIENDLY SMART AND VERY INNOCENT SINGER BUT IF THERE WAS SOMEONE IN HIS POSITIN HE DEFINATELY WOULD NOT DO THAT,SO IT CONCLUDES HE WAS THE BEST AMONG THE ALL.ABOUT PRAKIRTI YOU CANT JUDGE HER ,THATS ALL ABOUT PUBLICS.WHY NOT SHE IS GOOD.ALTHOUGH SHE IS SMALLER TAN OTHER SING VERY NICE WITH VERY SWEET VOICE .THE THING ONLY DIFFERENT IS JUDGES DON;T WANT HER BCZ SIMPLY SHE IS NOT FROM REAL INDIAN ORIGIN AND THAT IS FACT.SHE SINGS IN SUR MUSIC TIMINGS AND IN HER ORIGINAL SWEET VOICE SO ALTHOUGH JUDGES DIDNT WANT HER ,SHE GOT THROUGH WILD CARD.TO ME SHE IS THE BEST.MMMMM WHAT DID U SAY SANGEETA?OIC ABOUT HINDUSTANI MUSIC,,,,AS U SAID HINDUSTANI MUSIC IS HARDER,,,,IF HINDUSTANI MUSIC IS DIFFERENT THEN ONLY IT MAY BE HARDER,IF U SAY SO IT MUST BE FROM OTHER PLANET BUT PLZ I SAY MUSIC IN THE WORLD IS SAME.ONLY THE DIFFERENT IS FEELINGS.NOTATION IS SAME,IF U KNOW IT YOU CAN PLAY ALL INSTRUMENTS BUT U CAN;T FELL IT LIKE U FELL IN HINDI VERY EASILY NOT OTHER LANGUAGE.THATS ALL I SAY FOR NOW ,UR REPLY AGAIN WILL BE APPRECIATED

    Hi,

Judges have their favorites in this show.Anwesha & Ashwariya are best also.
Saregamapa Little champs judges are not fair at all specially Sonu Nigam . Suresh Wadkar just follows Sonu Nigam. They eliminated good singers ( Rohit,Smita,Vasundhara,Aamir)& kept their favorites.Aamir ( 10 years old & talented) was also deprived from winning because judges changed the rule & did not do elimination( elimination day).
Aamir was in top 4 & he is better singer than other 2 singers in top 3 now.

All singers are so good at this age.
    Good luck to all.

A well known playback singer Sneha Pant is also staying nearby. Her father is a family friend and Sneha (not SHREYA) has also visited us on couple of occasion.
I am fond of music and music shows. I attended many live music shows of Shankar-Jaikishan,Madan Mohan, C.Ramchandra.I have recorded SAREGAMA show episodes from the very first till 2006.
I am not directly connected with any programme or company but can get any information through friends. I am just a common man residing in Mumbai since my childhood.

    Hi,

I guess you are not watching the show more carefully then. The SaReGaMa showdoes not have Agni Pariksha like SVOI where even after the public has voted for a contestant the judges re test them and then mark them out. A contestant in SRGM is always eliminated based on the audience voting. As far as Aamir is concerned he lost his edge in the last 3 episodes that he performed and made many mistakes as far as SUR is concerend. I have studied classical music and I know what the judges are talking about. And for you to think that Suresh Wadkar doesn’t know what he is talking about then you don’t know music at all. You are also favoring a popularity and favoritism contest which this show is turning out to be.

As far as Aabhas is concerned he is a good singer and yes he should stick to singing and not comparing or hosting the show. He sucks.

Finally someone who sees the truth about the biased judging. My two favorite contestants are Aishwarya and Anwesha. They are both excellent singers. Frankly the drama that goes on during the show out performs and shadows the wonderful performances and great effort these young ones are putting. My request to the show organizers would be set rules where the agni pariksha has been taken out or the public voting is taken out. Ultimately the show turns into a popularity contest and not a real challenge. The judges should give constructive criticism and their criticism should motivate the performer not break them.

And a note to script writers please stop creating unnecessary tension between the 2 girls. Remember they are teenage girls and are as it is going thru a tough emotional roller coaster. Don’t bring the subject of conflict between Anwesha and Aishwarya. It is a very cheap attempt at creating drama and hype. The same thing had happened in the previous SVOI when Jatinji was sobbing away for Aabhas. Keep the drama out.
Good Luck to all chote ustaads!

Jhanvi…I think the judges in Saregamapa also weren’t perfect in the sense that they let great singers go out just b/c they were too hard on them and couldn’t give them positive feedback. Aditya = annoying and Abhaas is doing a good job in my opinion. True the whole Aishwarya Anvesha drama is getting annoying but like Yogi said, it’s all scripted.

Aishwarya proved her superiority over other contestants yesterday. Abhijeet was right in saying that she is precious. Prakriti ne to kal apne pair par khud hi kulhari mardi. By saying that she does not deserve to be at 2nd position she has in a way insulted her voters. She should try to improve but should never say such things which damage your support. I missed Anwesha’s performance yesterday.
So on the whole it looks certain to be a Anwesha-Aishwarya final. Prakriti’s votes will certainly drop after her last night’s emotional statement. So this clears the way for Aishwarya and Anwesha.
Vyom will be the next person to get eliminated.

I am a music lover and have little music knowledge. I love to hear classical, semi-classical, folk songs, in short good music; soft, melodious and soothing to the heart and mind. I am an ardent viewer of both the musical reality shows. I have been reading about all the “comments” made by good pious people from across the world and I admire your vivacity, eagerness and emotional ‘out-burts’, if I may say so.
But folks, please, DO NOT FORGET that these “chhote ustaads” and our “Li’l Champs” are mere “children”!! What they have achieved go to show what our next gen is made up of and what can be achieved!!
True, in a competition, some are good and some are better. Anwesha, Aishwarya, Anamika, Rohanpreet, Vyom, Tanmay, Prakriti and all have given great performances and there is no denying that. But we as audience should refrain from comparing one with the other. We should not be too judgmental because…
    1) We have judges (competent or not) to do that. It’s best left to the ‘organisers’. Although, I do agree that your blood boils when blatant partiality is seen while grading. Sad really.
    2) The songs (I suspect) are allocated and not chosen by each contestant.
    3) Musical/singing competition should not be regionalized. Music belongs to one and all. However, when it comes to ‘public voting’, you are delegating it to a ‘popularity’ contest, which should be a big NO.
    4) To choose the correct/merited winner, the same set of songs should be given to each contestant. However, that may not also be a good test because all voices are not the same; one may be a better folk singer than at classical rendition. But still this will level out the playground.
    5) Finally, these are our children! There should be no favouritism. May the best singer wins in each of the shows as per the rules set out.

Granted, there are many flaws/ups and downs/good and bad about such shows; but then who is to decide who is best; Lataji or Ashaji, Mohd Rafiji or Kishoreji, Madan Mohanji or Naushadji?!! Everyone had/has certain classic beauty in their music, which the other didn’t!
So, my earnest request, you listen to each child and vote for the one you think best “overall”.
And DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT influence others. Let each person hear what he/she likes best.

    Hello my friend,

In SGMP it was the public who voted against the best singers not Sonu and Sureshji. They didn’t have the 50-50 rule. They alwasys gave A+ or A to the kids everyone was given an equal mark. But it is again a regional voting thing. Ultimately the most deserving person won the championship.

Over here the judges have more power so they play the games unfairly as they chose who to bring up or down. And even the comments made by Aabhas and Pritam etc Bengali people are not voting for Anwesha or maharashtra people are not voting for Rigved etc. These kids are first and foremost Indian. It should be the whole of India who should be voting for the people regardless of race or religion.

It is a sad situation when a show is also encouraging segregation and regional seperation. My appeal to people is please vote openly and honestly to the most deserving person whether they are Bengali or Gujarati or nepali, it doesn’t matter.

After listening to Prakriti in Bhoopal, Adesh Srivastav says “ super duper sartaj sarvattom “, Pritam says “ ati uttam” but Shreya and Kunal say – “madhyam”. Did Adesh and Pritam lie or they don’t have the capability to understand music? It seems, Shreya (mainly) and Kunal have personal issues against her and they were pre-determined to let her down. Did she sang so badly to get “Madhyam”? Indian public are not so fool. Shreay and Kunal, you are doing injustice to her to promote your favorite singers.
