Oh please gimme a break from this Indian dramabazee from Aishwarya! The ONLY reason she got the golden necklace from Alka was bcoz both being Gujju behins!

Anwesha, just stay away from these nataks and be yourself, just like you have been so far!

And for christ sake, ask Sonia to grow up and not talk in that childish voice, it would just hamper her growth!

Any day or night, Anwesha you are the BEST!

And yes, please do congragulate Mr. Pritam on his childishness he shows on the show and please ask him to GROW UP and instead of scheming things on little kids, please ask him to concentrate on giving ORIGINAL music and get the renumeration for REAL work and not just rip music from Chinese/Korean and put under his name to movies like RACE etc. I guess he is competing with Anu Mallik on being a bigger and better copycat!

    Anwesha,
You’re awesome as usual. It was a difficult song and you performed it impeccably. Aishwarya was good too.But in my opinion she missed the “Sur” a couple of times. But for the rest of the song she was fantastic probably one of her best performances. In the era of Lataji and Ashaji there was no electronic SUR correction and that’s how we found two legendary singers. We should look for true singers who sings perfectly with SUR otherwise we are going to be stuck with anybody who can sing with emotion but not SUR. For me a true singer is who sings in SUR and if He/She can emote then that’s an added bonus.

I agree with bonnie both are good. Avinash either you don’t know about Indian music or you from west Bengal / Kolkata otherwise you will never write such a comment on aishwariya.

Aishwarya and Anwesha were both fantastic. But then, this was only to be expected as they are both extremely talented singers, and classical singing is their forte (it always has been). I thought Anwesha performed brilliantly. The song she was given (or chose) was the most difficult song of the night. There were many tiny inflections, harkats and variations all throughout, and she sang it excellently and so effortlessly. The melody of the song is also very abstract and a lesser singer would’ve completely made a mess of it. But Anwesha showed so much emotion, finesse and control with her singing, it was totally amazing! Aishwarya was great too, but apart from a few taans here and there, the song wasn’t particularly difficult. Any singer with some training in classical music, would’ve been able to do it justice. I’m not trying to take any credit away from her, she was fantastic and so focused, but I’m mostly dissapointed that Anwesha did not get a standing ovation, when Aishwarya did. Every time Anwesha sings, I get chills (today was no exception), though I never get this feeling from Aishwarya’s singing.

Anvesha is the best…Aishwaryi has something that is sly and sneaky about her…..Besides she has seen the world as compared to good ole Anvesha…that is why she knows the tricks…SHe escorts the hosts she gets a chain from Alka and even though the compitition is not over the judges and some guests say …Wah wah ur the best and u will be the number one….what bull…..Oh unless they have already decided and made sure she wins..I pray Anvesha the simple decent girl wins.

  10. By Rajdeep on Mar 2, 2008 | Reply

I don’t know why this Gujju and Bengali issues came up.
Aishwaryi is a “Bengali” living in Gujrat and Alka ji is a gujju born and brought up in Bengal!

  11. By Avinash on Mar 2, 2008 | Reply

Very simple, Rajdeep. it hurts when a true singer just doesn’t get the R E S P E C T that she deserves, rather it is “stolen” from a slick artist who plays drama to get attention!
The beauty about Anwesha is, she doesn’t get into these slick/con gimmicks, she just does what she is supposed to do ( and does the BEST of the rest) – SING soulfully! Sometimes, I feel she just doesn’t understand the REAL POWER of her voice!
    GOD bless this child!

Hi Rajdeep – One small correction. I do NOT think Aishwarya is a Bengali. Her last name is “MajMudar” and not “MajUmdar”. That makes her a gujrati. But no doubt she is very good and of course Anwesha. I am confused as to who to support since for me both of them are too good.. What I have noticed is Anwesha’s murkiyaan’s are much cleaner than Aishwarya. Aishwarya has a nice rounding voice and Anwesha has a nice treble touch to her voice..

Anwesha’s performance in this episode was superlative and per excelllence. The murkiyan’s landing notes were so clean and clear. Her hard work is paying off here… Great going Girl ! You rock ! Keep working hard and be down to earth, that will take you to the sun.

A Classic episode-very well planned and executed.
According to me (i am a music lover belonging to old generation)almost all the performances in this episode were extraordinary and that was the magic of original compositions of great and talented music directors who toiled hard to produce original enthralling and ever lasting music. Mann mohanna bade joothe— from film SEEMA rendered by young Aishwarya was composed by SHANKAR-JAIKISHAN more than 50 years ago. You can hear the original song in Lata Mangeshkar’s voice on http://www.raaga.com . When Aishwarya started with alaap I for once felt that she sounded quite ordinary but as she continued she reached the highest level in pure classical rendition. An amazigly mature performance from a 14 year old kid. I heard the original song sung by Lata Mangeshkar on above site and felt that the Legendary singer and the composers for once faltered and the alaap in original song sounded rather bland. . Anand Sharma and Annu Kappu the music gurus of voi could have improved on that score rather than sticking to meaningless original taan.
Anwesha’s performance I would like to compare with the original song composed by Ravindra Jain. This song in fact impressed Raj Kapoor so much that he asked Ravindra Jain to compose music for his film his “RAM TERI GANGA MAILI”.
Lata Mangeshkar’s level of singing at the age of 21 years when she sang for Raj Kapoor’s second film BARSAAT is kept in view while comparig Anwesha’s performance who is presently 8 years younger than the Legend who gave her first biggest hit at the age of 21 though she had started her career as a playback singer in hindi films at the age of around 16.
    ANWESHA LATA MANGESHKAR@21

WELL YOU MAY DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS.THIS IS A R E A L I T Y AS LOOKED AT BY A COMMON MAN AND NOT AN EXPERT
Prakriti:to place her at no 6 by the Judges is unacceptable. THE JUDGES HAVE BUNGLED. SHE IS CONSISTENT IN HER SUR.HER CHOICE OF SONGS WAS RIDICULOUS.WHO SELECTED SONGS FOR HER?
Vyom:noticeable improvement in his performance.voice quality will improve with age.A great potential.
Soniya:over-rated by judges. voice quality not upto the mark though possesses feeling and expression.
Rigved;Jeetu Shankar on TABLA provided tremendous support.A difficult classical -based song sang quite well according to his age .Should have qualified for final 5 . A talented boy can go places if he receives expert trainig.
YOUNG PRAKRITI’S STATEMENT THAT SHE DID NOT DESERVE SECOND POSITION IN PUBLIC VOTING SPEAKS VOLUMES FOR HER GREAT CHARACHTER & UP- BRINGING. I SALUTE HER PARENTS FOR INCULCATING NOBLE THOUGHTS AND VALUES IN THIS YOUNG MIND. PRAKRITI YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED BY THE ALMIGHTY.
ABHIJEET IS A GREAT SINGER BUT EQUALLY GREAT JOKER. PLEASE STOP PULLING ALKA’S LEG WHICH CAUSES DISTRACTION IN THIS MUSIC SPECTACLE.

classical singing. it was a pure classical rendering of the most difficult composition of great maestros SHANKAR-JAIKISHAN

Aishwarya is NOT a Bengali. She is Gujarati (Her surname is MajMUdar & Not MajUMdar). Yes Alka Yagnik is Gujarati born & brought up in Kolkata. Anwesha truely deserved a standing ovation for the outstanding rendition.

Anamika’s win in LIL Champs was surprising as Rohanpreet was leading in international and North Zone which sent the maximum votes.

I totally agree with chronic. Anwesha should have gotten a standing ovation instead of Aishwarya. Anwesha,s song was much harder and she sang it flawlessly. Every time I hear Anwesha I get chills too but Aishwarya never had that effect on me. Anwesha unlike Aishwarya is a complete singer who never misses sur.Hope she wins this contest.

It’s very sad to see so much hate spewing out against an innocent little girl Aishwarya. The fans of Anwesha can express their support but there’s no reason for this hatred.

Anwesha might be technically a little better and might be off sur less often ( last week’s performances were quite ordinary) but Aishwarya sings with enjoyment and puts expression and emotion better than Anwesha. In this episode definitely Aishwarya was no less than Anwesha. Actually Anwesha’s pronounciation of Hindi words was quite poor.

Aishwarya certainly deserved the standing ovation. Anyway Anwesha got 3 Sartaj Sarvottams previous week for a ordinary performance.

    Aishwarya is the best.

Yes, looks like WB is producing good talents! BTW, I felt that SaReGaMaPa chose the right winner and regaining some faith in these reality shows! Hope ChotE Ustaad does some justice and choose the right singer!

  28. By Avinash on Mar 2, 2008 | Reply

    LOL!
‘Hate’ is a strong word, Mr. Niranjan, I haven’t yet graduated to Pritam’s level to ‘Hate’ kids! I just mentioned what I felt about Aishwarya and Anwesha thats all! Just like you have the right to your feelings, I have mine!

    Rajdeep,
I some previous thread you asked me about why the regionalism is being brought up here, very simple my friend, because thats what make a person WIN/Lose in these reality shows! Now, it would be a BIG joke if you say “NO”! Even after 50+ years of Indian Independence, it hurts when contestants (starting from their tender ages) start asking for votes based on region and in turn the countrymen responding to it! I care less if Anwesha or Aishwarya win, but my point is call a spade a SPADE, if you see one!

After seeing the 1st March episode, I have a feeling that this week Vyom would be eliminated. Hope and pray I am wrong!
For the 1st March episode, I must say Anwesha seemed like she tried very hard for the song (meaning she was not at ease while singing as her previous performances), while on the other hand Aishwarya chose quite an ‘easy’ one! Ofcourse ‘EXPERTS’ may differ!

    Mr.Avinash

I used the word ‘hate’ advisedly. You commented that Aishwarya is doing drama. Please understand that every action on the stage and every word they speak is scripted for them and they’re directed and coached to do it. Do you think it’s their own individual actions. If you think it’s drama you’ve to blame Gajji and others. THE KIDS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS AND WORDS.

Anyway I think Aishwarya is also unspoilt and simple and sweet.

You also said that Aishwarya is a ‘slick artist’, ‘fake’, etc. and doesn’t deserve any respect. That’s why I used the word ‘hate’.

By the way, others have commented that Aishwarya is sly. For God’s sake, on what basis can they say that? Has she done anything sly?

I’ve noticed that Aish’s fans never throw mud on Anwesha. Of course it’s a recognition of true greatness if others start to throw mud at a person. Like Aishwarya, her fans are also self confident.

By the way, about regionalism. It’s Anwesha who without fail asks for Bengali votes in Bengali. Aish on the other hand always asks for Hindustan’s votes. And that’s what they both get. (I am not blaming them, I think Gajji is responsible for this)

Sonia is the best. Just see the result end of the show.
Its the people select the winner. Now the format change for the judges so it will be different in favour of Ashwaria.. Leave upto Public, the result will be in favour of Anvesha or Sonia

Honestly speaking, both Anwesha and Aishwarya are good..but if u go for clarity,Aishwarya is better than Anwesha..and if u go for range,,,Anwesha is far better than Aishwarya…but I think,it won’t be good to compare to different individuals with different strengths and weakness. But my rating will be Aishwarya slightly better than Anwesha

Hey guys, a wonderous Anwesha fan managed to unearth a video of one of Anwesha’s Bengali performances from when she was in the Zee Bangla Saregamapa lil’ champs competition. Mind you she didn’t win that competition, but she was a finalist and had made plenty of fans (many of whom are either not watching this show, or for some reason, are simply not voting). Abhijeet was a judge there and he put one song of Anwesha’s in one of his albums (which you can listen to on hummaa.com), to compensate for the fact that she didn’t win.

    Hello DevKishin –

It may be a good idea to write your comments in “lower case” (small letters), it is considered as good nettiquette. People write in “upper case” when they are aggresive in their attitude, I am sure you are not when you generally write your comments.

As for the great “Gajji” being the greatest talent hunter, in your communications with him (if at all) can you atleast request him to remove the regional remarks from Abhas’s script like “Bangla aur Gujrat aapasi man mutaav”.. what’s this ? I am sure he is “literate” enough to understand what is sober from a programe’s perspective when it is telecast nation wide. Why the heck does he need to incorporate all the state/regional remarks in his scripts in the show ? Can’t the show run with those remarks ?.. such cheapos (ek class hota hai.. what’s this ? they do not live in some “sweeper low class colony” where people speak whatever they want)… these remarks make this program very cheap at times.. I watch this program only because of Aishwarya and Anwesha…

    Rajdeep,

You’re wrong. The contestant you’re talking about is Alpansh Banerjee (who got eliminated in the first round). He is from indore and a half bengali. He said he does’nt speak bengali and his nick name is Golu. You can check this out at the official site of Amul star voice of india. So, Aishwarya is not half bengali. Anyways, we are supporting Anwesha not because she is a Bengali but because she is a brilliant singer much superior than any other contestant in VOI and SAREGAMAPA combined.

    Hi,

Enjoy watching & listening to all these young talented singers. Anwesha & Aishwarya are better than other singers . Both of them are also experienced compare to other contestants & were in competition before. Judges comments to other singers are not very encouraging . Shreya Ghosal comments to Prakriti Giri was not nice. Shreya Ghosal should not criticized little kids like that on National TV.Constructive advice to young singers could have been done with proper wordings.Prakriti Giri was saved by public votes.Judges put her in 6th place below Rigved.Looks like, from judges remark that they will keep Vyom in top 3. Lets see , what happens.

    Good luck to all singers.

prakirti sis plz don b demoralize u r the blood of gurkhas,be always brave. we r always with u. for all judges,u changed the rule only for prakrti, coz u know that she always get high votes.so u don want her to b ustad.if that dicision is in ur hand,u start this programme at ur home n choose whoever u like, not in studio in front of public.otherwise u can not treat prakirti in that manner, she is so demoralised bcos of u judges,so she is not able to give her best as she has.she feels now always neg that i get low points from judge although i do my best.but we will keep voting her from all over the world ,it should be all in publics hand,if u judges repeate this again u r just doing ur bussiness for money not for choosing the real singer.

    Dear Deviskishan Ji

As I requested you earlier and also pointed out by Avi It would be great if you could please stick to lowercase letters when you post your comments.

Also, I strongly disagree on you on few points. you seem to be a master at contradicting yourselves. On one hand you say that I am looking at things as a regular listener and not as an expert and on the other hand you dare to compare anvesha a 14 year old girl with Lata Mangeshkar Ji who is considered by everyone in the music industry as Maa Saraswati mentioning 8 different points out of which in seven you say that anvesha is better. it would be foolish to compare anyone to Lata Ji forget about saying that a 14 year old is better than her in every field. Absolute rubbish!!

Also, on one hand you say that three judges are the best in their field at the moment and on the other hand you say that Pritam is a few weeks wonder and would dispappear soon. neither is pritam the best in his field nor anybody can forsee that he will disppear in near future. Also, there are so many better male singers than kunal ganjawala (e.g. Sonu, K.K) who is so one dimensional. i can agree to an extent regarding shreya. i think she along with sunidhi are two best female singers we have.

You seem to talk like you are the biggest expert on music by rating these kids higher than Lata Ji and Asha Ji. I am not sure what an expert like you ius doing sitting at home.

We Bengali’s are the most talented among the Indian citizens. Take an example of Anwesha. A Bengali Girl will surely win. Look at our history, Rabindranath Tagore, etc. Chhote Ustaad will definitely be a Bangla girl and I despise all the other contestants because they are feeble and are there just as immature music creatures.

  67. By Avi on Mar 4, 2008 | Reply

Hi Bonnie – That’s the true spirit of any Indian. Aishwarya and Anwesha I feel (entirely my opinion) have a marginal difference in their singing calibre but for me I would choose both of them as winner. They are super!

  68. By Avi on Mar 4, 2008 | Reply

Hi Deb Mitra – I am a bengali too, but I would disagree with you and to be very honest I am not sure how it actually shows up when you write “We Bengalis are the most talented”, to me your statement sounds very “cheap”. It smells of “over pride”. We are INDIANS first and then bengalis,Gujrati, marathi etc. Atleast 12 years of basic primary education taught me that. Also there were extraordinarily brilliant people from other states of our country as well like like C V Raman,Ramanujam and list is endless were all non-bengalis. I know one feels good when someone representing their community/state/region outshines in a exuberant manner, especially in a country where the culture changes every 250 kms. Even after 60 years of Independence we have not matured and still continue to be “I” rather than “We”. Request you to refrain writing strong statements.

i agree with you 100%. these words like SLY, HATE,SNEAKY OR FAKE have come from very bad taste(Mr Badria).Aishwarya is fortunate if she has seen the world, and that in no way makes Anwesha a POOR OLD girl. When you don`t even know the person and that also only a CHILD OF 14 YEARS, it is indeed in a very bad taste to use these kind of words for her character. both of them look and behave like 14 years old kids. It is so evident that they both wait for good comments from their MENTORS-JUDGES. Both look so happy when they get good marks and comments from them which is so NATURAL. why people feel so ENVIOUS if Aishwarya was given a gold chain on a very emotional moment?-(Mr Avinash).
I wonder that these same people have nothing to say when Anwesha was given THREE SARTAJ SARVOTTAM on a very ordinary performance. In that same episode, Aishwarya was given only ATI UTTAM from these same Judges even when they really could not find any big mistakes in her performance. She sang much tougher song(CHOSEN and NOT GIVEN)than Anwesha.
BE REALISTIC and FAIR and not BIASED to little children. Let them both perform on the same songs specially old classic like KUHU KUHU BOLE KOLALIA OR SAANWRE…….. and see.
    may the best performer WIN!

Think of being an INDIAN first and then a BENGALI. when you talk about Shri Rabindranath Tagore, i just want to remind you – do you remember GANDHIJI? He was from Gujarat. but we Gujaratis think of INDIA first and then a PART OF INDIA. i don`t think that any one of these contestants are IMMATURE MUSIC CREATURES- they are all talented kids and surely better than us, that is why they have reached this STAGE and we are sitting at home writing these comments.

India is not what it used to be, its progressive, a world leader and fearless. You need to take you 1900s thinking into the same village that you came out of.
Go sing Tagore’s songs and eat macher jhol (use local fish)

I must tell you Mr chronic,Aishwarya was a part of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2002, when she was only 10 years old. she had reached up to Semi-Final level and was no. 3 in the group of 8 to 15 years. she had performed in frount of Mangeshkar sisters-not Lataji and Ashaji. Kuhu Kuhu Bole Koyalia from her at that age had got everyone stunned. Even at that age her control over SUR in her Taans HERE AND THERE was perfect. that time this Voting System was not introduced. I m sure that even when you listen to Aishwarya sing, you can feel the emotion in her singing and of course on her face. The TEXTURE of her Voice is also very good- may be slightly better than Anwesha. But still I think both of them are very good and may the BEST WIN THE SHOW.

  73. By chronic on Mar 4, 2008 | Reply

Yes, I agree that Aishwarya’s voice quality is slightly better than Anwesha’s (but Anwesha’s is good too, very sweet, like Shreya’s voice). I heard that Aishwarya had performed the song ‘kuhu kuhu bole koyalia,’ infact Anwesha had sung this same song when she was on Zee Bangla SRGMP little champs contest. I hope someone posts their performances on here.

For Parveen: Madam or Adam kindly identify yourself as I am not able to make out your gender.About comparing Anwesha with a legend LATA MANGESHKAR I wrote what I honestly believed. You are quoting me out of context. Kindly mark my words, I compared Anwesha with LATA MANGESHKAR assuming the latter’s singing the same song at the age of 21.Just hear Lata’s voice in Raj Kpoor’s film BARSAAT. LATA MANGESHKAR’S rendition of “ek radha ek meera–’ in the film at the age of around 50 is matchless. I have repeatedly said that there shall not be another LATA MANGESHKAR as far as perfection, quality of voice, pronunciation, sweetness, expression, feeling etc. are concerned. But some of the singers in Gajendra Singh’s programme are trained by greatly talented music gurus Anand Sharma and Annu Kappu and quite often the participants add something extra of their own and come out with the better performance than the original one. For example Sonu Nigam’s rendition of “yeh hawa yeh raat yeh chandni—” from film Sangdil composed by Lata’s favourite composer Sajjad Hussain and sung by silky voiced Talat Mahmood was bettered by Sonu on the saregama stage about a decade ago.I can show you that video.
Regarding Anwesha’s rendition of above song she definitely added extra murkiyan and taan which are not in original song. Overall if you compare LATA MANGESHKAR’S original song with that of Anwesha’s song the latter could not even reach 50% mark of the original singer.I hope I have cleared your doubts as far as my contradiction is concered.
Regarding competence or calibre of judges many a time they have bungled and I stand by my statement. Preetam’s as well as almost all the present day composer’s calibre has been aptly summed up by Shailendra’s and Shanker-Jaikishan’s song in film “Love Marriage’composed 5 decades ago. Just click the site mentioned in my comments above on this blog. All the composers are masters in lifting tunes from various sources and churn out songs which are vulgarly picturised on half clad young heroines. Obviously such songs become instant hits and survive for a few months..Preetam is therefore expert composer in his own field.Shreya is undoubtedly one of the top singers at present. My favourites are Alka Yagnik and Sneha Pant and not Sunidhi Chauhan.Kunal is best in sensuous singing. But they sometimes commit blunders while judging participants .They must take into cosideration selection of song by the partipants when rating their performance . Aishwarya and Prakriti were the victims of judges bungling and I stand by my statement.I have watched songs sung by various singers in SAREGAMA PROGRAMME from 1993 to 2006 on my cassettes more than ten times. Some performances have been watched repeatedly like USTAD RASHID KHAN’S THUMRI in TAJ MAHAL SPECIAL PROGRAMME.
I do not consider myself as an expert in the field of music. I am just a common man who likes good music / thumris(I still listen to Nirmala Devi’s(film actor Govinda’s mother) Thumris and those taans still touch my soul.God bless you Parveen. Just enjoy reading comments of common man like me . I REITERATE that I am not an expert . I write according to my own judgement and expertise in field of music.

we saw time to time,Judges or guests ,very special educated people expressing their opinion or exclamations in 3 ways:
    1) either inappropriate
2)verbosity : excess of needless words
    3)few and flimsy
It was Vyom’s mimicry brought to my notice and i categorised all the event-logs of “inappropiate or lack of learninng language properly” >presenations and diction.
pritam, avijit Banerjee often remarked ” sraswati”"amanat” adjectives of verbosity to odd “remarks to alkaji and others”.
Many film fratenity are laughable. Preity zinta’s good command on english, hindi and most intelligent public speaking AMONG all the artists is truly commendable.abhisek bacchan is so pitiful>so contrast to father and many others>Language is a key to culture and expression but we need to learn it properly in writing ,speaking and presentation.Grace and modesty are also a part of this exercise.

    Hi V guha,
I would like to address a few points that have been directed to me:
“why people feel so ENVIOUS if Aishwarya was given a gold chain on a very emotional moment?-(Mr Avinash).”- I didn’t get the chain personally, so why should I be jealous or ENVY Aishwarya?? Basically, it boils down to these ‘celebrities’ trying to influence the votes and unfortunately, I must confess that we as Indians blindly follow whatever the heck is thrown at us via celebrities! If you have time, watch the episode again and HONESTLY (HUH!!) tell me if Aishwarya was better than Anwesha? Answer: NO! Aishwarya has given programs with Alka and Shreya, if it matters!

“I wonder that these same people have nothing to say when Anwesha was given THREE SARTAJ SARVOTTAM on a very ordinary performance. In that same episode, Aishwarya was given only ATI UTTAM from these same Judges even when they really could not find any big mistakes in her performance. She sang much tougher song(CHOSEN and NOT GIVEN)than Anwesha.”
Again, I re-iterate, please read my review on 1st March 2008 episode and reply back..if you feel like!

I am NOT BIASED to any kids, after all this is a REALITY SHOW, but ONLY hope at the end of the day, the right person is recognized for his/her singing ONLY and nothing else!

Hi Avinash – I agree with your observation. There is a huge leap in terms of postive improvement in Anwesha as to how she sang in the bangla show. But I still find that she sometimes rans out of breath in singing. No doubt she is one of the best in the lot.

  83. By avi on Mar 4, 2008 | Reply

To “The Gurung United Kingdom” –
I am not sure what is the problem if Prakriti accepted that she did not deserve 2nd position. I think she was very honest. Is that a crime or an issue ? Can anyone not be honest or humble ? I think she realises more than her supporters that she is not as technically competent as Anwesha and Aishwarya are (and the latter two have distinguished vocal quality as well). I think her realisation will take her ahead because unless you realise what the problems are you wouldn’t know what to fix and the crack would remain as is, is that what we want in the long run for Prakriti? As for bringing her back to the show, I am more than sure that it was “THE GREAT GAJJI’s” idea since he knew that Prakriti’s staunch supporters would vote for her without giving a second thought and Gajji’s/Start TV’s bank balance would soar up … such cheapos ! cheapos cheapos ! “The GREAT GAJJI”.. duuh…

I believe ANVESHA is the best by far. Sorry, I can’t understand her being compared to anyone, least of all ASH. The programme is very cleverly manipulated to package Ash as ‘competition’ to Anvesha. The truth lies elsewhere, as any discerning music lover can see. The hidden agenda must be uncovered as there should not be such a thing in a national compettion.I am neither a Bengali or a Gujarati, I am a Punjabi and I can judge without being influenced by regional sentiments.

Overall it is important to appreciate talent, then SONIA and JAYANT were also very good. So was a little girl called GEETASRI who was eliminated long ago, but whose voice quality was incredibly melodious. So if we appreciate ASH, we should appreciate JAYANT,SONIA and GEETASRI also. They were all very good.

But if we have to choose the winner, we should choose one and only ANVESHA who has continued to impress with superlative performances. Not too many people in Punjab watch this programme, but those who do support ANVESHA completely. Now don’t say here that PUNJAB is closer to BENGAL geographically an dmake it a regional one!!

All i am saying is from aneutral ground it is easy to see who should be the winner. Also it is imp. to separate the layers of packaging and observe talent for talent’s sake.I do not explicity want to mention any person’ connections, but is evident that here judging for ASH work differently as opposed to judging for other participants.

As the present competition titled CHHOTE USTAD on STAR PLUS is in final stages there is likely to be fierce tussle between the two top contenders viz. Aishwarya and Anwesha. This show has generated intense reactions from the viewers all over the world. Both Anwesha and Aishwarya are almost equally talented and properly trained singers and it is very difficult to single out one of them as superior to the other.
In order to select the better performer between the two the only solution could be to ask them to render same numbers in different genre:GHAZAL-BHAJAN- OLD FILM SONG- NEW FILM SONG-THUMRI etc. Two more judges should be added to the present panel of 3. PRITAM,SHREYA AND KUNAL MUST BE RETAINED as they understand the calibre of ANWESHA and AISHWARYA fully.
The reality show has never declared joint winners in any competition so far and they are not likely to swerve from this trend.
Every music lover expects that the two top singers will be fully tested before one of them is declared a runner-up and the other the ultimate winner.
The Direcror Gajendra Singh and panel of judges are heading for a real AGNI PARIKSHA.GOD HELP THEM.

Aishwariya and Anwesha are both the best but Aishwariya is better! Anwesha has the better voice (since its like shreya’s) but the way Aishwariya sings is unbeatable and unbelievable! I wish both of them very good luck and hope Aishwariya wins! Im in canada and have many people here who like her. Im born in Tanzania (just because its in Africa doesnt mean there’s no indians there, the city is FULL OF INDIANS!), and all the indians support Aishwariya since all the indians there are gujju. I’m gujju too!

East or west, Aishwariya is the best!

Btw, Rohanpreet deserved to win lil champs.

I prefer Aishwarya’s voice quality, but deeply admire Anwesha’s singing abilities. No one can modulate a song like her, nor can they put so many variations in a single song, yet make it sound so simple and effortless like she can. She is very versatile also, everything from ‘MAiya Maiya,’ to ‘Daiya Ye Mein,’ to ‘Mere Dholna,’ to ‘Soniye’ and lastly ‘Jaane Kya Chaahe Mann,’ goes to show her incredible range and versatility as a singer (in fact, she can actually change the tone of her voice to match the type of song she will be singing, whether they be ghazals, item numbers, or serious and melodious songs, or classical). She also has incredible (i’m running out of superlatives!) expression in her voice, she always puts so much emotion into whatever she’s singing. Her alaaps, taans, harkateins, sargams etc. are alawys so clean and she sings with so much clarity. She usually takes quite difficult songs to sing as well and she never takes the easy way out of these difficult songs – she sings them wholly, which is truly admirable. And also, there is something about her voice that just sounds so innocent and unassuming, which I really like. Overall, for me, she is the chhote ustaad and would certainly be a deserving winner.

it was brought to my notice by my (part#6)neice,a 10yrs old, what Mr.avijit Banerjee,as a judge was saying for AISWYARIA’S #1 RANKING BY pubic voting ” if it was not that result, there would have been disturbance here, smashing everything”. what kind of partisan comment comes from a judge like this???it’s shocking: This man is an unbalanced person: he described her as an incarnation of saraswati,AMANAT of the country and all kind ridiculous satements and yet many pandits of Musical world have expressed their views of ANWESHA as one of the finest. Truly, Both are equally talented!
JUDGES SHOULD BE TOTALLY NEUTRAL AND SHOULD MAKE NO SILLY COMMENTS.
