I did not like the episode much. The songs weren’t (I think)of a level. Renditions were so-so.

Hope to see better songs in the coming episodes.

Song choices are so horrible. At this stage of the competition, why not choose songs that will be challenging, melodious, crowd-pulling and pleasant to listen to at the same time? They haven’t even had a proper classical round yet (I don’t count the kisna special episode as a classical round). However, Anwesha and Aishwarya were both very good with their renditions(but who chooses their songs?). I loved Anwesha’s ‘kanta laga’, in particular, her voice projection was brilliant.

But poor Prakriti, I felt so sorry for her today. the judges were making it so obvious that they want her out of the competition next. I agree that she is not quite up to the par of A+A, but the judges could have made their views known without publically demoralising and humiliating the poor girl.

Overall, I have to say I much preferred last week’s episode to this week. They better come with a more suitable theme, with better song choices next week. It is crucial, that the contestants get to sing songs which will show off their range and calibre.

First of All, Salute to Pritamda. He is a real Judge who is judging on nothing else but performence. He never did injustice to anyone on basis of from where that child belong.

For other 2 judges, just to make sure that Anwesha goes to finals, our little Prakriti is made scape goat. (Prakriti ko halaal kiya hai ye racial Shrya aur Kunaal ne)

Let us see how these 2 Judges’ played their cards.

First AISHWARYA. She gets good voting from people from the very begining & most guests coming to the show praises her singing including Pritamda, it was not possible for these 2 judges to offer “madhyam” to Aishwarya & so, it was not possible for them to kick her out.

PRAKRITI received not only Gorkha votes but also votes from all over the far eastern world so much that for 3 times she got maximum number of votes. She also consistantly received ‘Atiuttam’ from all the judges.

ANWESHA though supported by judges with ‘Sarvottam’ (even if she is besoora in Mere Dholana & many others) gets very low public voting throughout the show and was in scaryland for 3 times.

So, even if Prakriti receives Atiuttam from all the judges, she would beat Anwesha in total ranking.

Shreya & Kunaal wanted Anwesha in to finals any how and Pritamda would not agree with them to give biased judgement, so these corrupt minds gave Prakriti very low marks “Madhyam”.

Under such conditions, Prakriti will need to get over 70% of total votes to reach Finals with such low marks from judges.

I call all Gorkhas and all other lovers of Prakriti to vote her like anything and bring her to finals and thereby slap these 2 rascals. C’mon, we still have some hours to vote. Like Aishwarya’s father said in one of the show, our daughter does not need ‘Dayaa’ from these 2 judges.

Ye ‘DAYAA’ aap Anwesha ke liye hi rakhiye. Hum Gorkha log desh ka khayaal karte hai aur karte rahenge. Shrya aur Kunaal, aap ne kitne bhi paise kamaa liye honge magar aap aur Anwesha jaise gareeb humne aaj tak nahin dekhe. Magar ek baat hai. GORKHA ANWESHA KO VOTE NAHIN KARENGE. Even if Anwesha reaches finals, she would be standing there in a place given to her in ‘Bhikh’ by the 2 special judges by snatching that place from PRAKRITI.

I would love to see anvesha in final 2, but I hated the judges’ behaviour yesterday. it was a clear indication that they are under gajji. aishwarya–where does she get so many votes from? gujarat has neevr been fanatic with votes. I think the show is manipualted to make aishwarya win
However a sweet, innocent 12 yr old Prakriti giri is made to suffer because of this? So unfair. she is just a little girl,kunal and shreya. Pritam was right. she deserved ‘attiuttam’ not ‘uttam/madhyam’. She has a good voice quality and a sweet, silky texture. A little training and you will rock prakriti giri!! And poor little girl was in tears throughout. part of top 3 and such behavious towards her? If she is getting votes, its not her fault. the little prakriti is honest, endearing, a good friend to all the contestants. She does not deserve this, not even if it means anshu has to be eliminated.

One thing every one missed is the designer’s costume which Prakriti put on in Saturday”s episode.She looked fantastic in that dress. I have yet to come across a better designed and more exquisitely stiched outfit for a 12 year old . That outfit was probably the best ever worn by a contestant in GAJENDRA SINGH’S REALITY SHOW. ALL DRESS DESIGNERS MUST HAVE LOOKED AT YOUR DRESS AND YOUR COMPLETE PERSONALITY IN DISBELIEF .

Earlier the VOI judges made Ishmeet cry, he had to face non-stop racism for last 4 months of the show. He won by his good luck.
Now Prakriti is being subjected to racism.

Ishmeet’s pathetic treatment has set the tone for racism in Indian reality shows. Had it been stopped then the trend would hv finished. Prakriti is second victim of racism. Now more contestants will hv to face racism in future if all this non-sense is not stopped by Gajendra Singh.

Judges have a JOB to do . Their job is to see that the deserving candidate wins. And Anwesha and aishwarya are definitely the deserving ones.
Prakriti is sweet but definetely does not deserve to be in top three. Nepalese people are voting for Prakriti only because she is a nepali and that’s PURE RACISM.
When judges don’t have power then undeserving candidates like Prashant Tamang and Ishmeet win purely because of regionalism and thats UNFAIR. I believe prakriti wouldn’t have been in top 3 if she was not a nepali.She is a good singer but needs a lot of training.I felt bad for her when she cried but judges job is to tell the TRUTH and GUIDE the audiences to vote for the deserving contestant.
ITS TRUE THAT JUDGES HAVE THEIR FAVORITES BUT THE FAVORITISM IS TOWARDS THE DESERVING CANDIDATES AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH REGIONALISM OR RACISM.The idea is to select the best singer , doesn’t matter where they are from what religion, cast or race they belong to. Innocent Ishmeet cried in the face of racist slurs by Abhijeet & Co. No body took notice of his tears. Prakriti is lucky that atleast people have noticed her pain.
Prakriti has been targetted mainly for her singing, but Ishmeet was targetted on communal grounds.Remember Abhijeet’s famous words “Kaho apne bhaiyon se SMS bhejna band karren” Or Lalit’s famous words ” Isko to anap-shanap vote mil rahe hain”
Abhijeet went to the extent of saying”tum to top 10 mein aane ke layak bhi nahin the”
So Ishmeet had to go through all this humiliation.
Prakriti is lucky that atleast she has been subjected to less humilation compared to Ishmeet.

Talking about sregama little champs, the deserving winner was a girl from Tripura called SMITA NANDI or ROHIT. they were both good, but got eliminated due to bad voting by public.
ANAMIKA was best among top 3, and rohanpreet was also good. Either of them winning is not a loss. so stop this bengali vs. punjabi nonsense.if tanmay won, it would have been a loss.

As for this particular chote ustad, below all the gimmiks and cheap publicity only one contestant desrves to win– anvesha. If only people would look beyond their region and vote. another very good contestant SONIA was far better then aishwarya and prakrit, who are now in top 3. sonia and anvesha would have been perfect top 2 material. I Don’t know, i am not too impressed by this show not because of lack of talemt but lack of a clean and non-biased judgement.

Public voting should be stopped totally. There should be couple of judges and the contestants in the show. They will crown so called ‘ustaad’ whoever they like or think he or she deserves. Anyway there are so many programs in which there is no public participation. Then none of the contestants will have to face humiliation like the prakriti had to today.

First of all bengalis are apparently not voting for Anwesha because in spite of getting all sarwottams from the judges she had been in the scaryland a few times.You may like Ishmeet and Rohanpreet just because they are PUNJUBIS but I(being a Bengali)for one voted for Aamir and NOT Anamika in SAREGAMAPA and I’m not a muslim! The votes should be casted according to the contestant’s singing ability not for any other reason.
Anwesha and Aishwarya are both very well trained. Anwesha was ist runner up in ZEE Bangla SAREGAMAPA ( she came in second apparently because she sang too many claasical songs!). And AISH participated in last years SAREGAMAPA but had to withdraw because of health reasons. PEASE lets not vote for regionalism. LETS JUST VOTE FOR THE BEST SINGER. Thanks

i have few suggestions:
1.public voting should be eliminated completely.Public can express their favorites that’s all.
2.no public display of elimination: elimantion result will be announced on the electronic score board.the scoring from the judges will be displayed but not the names.
3. a committee of professional Music body :who will have 50% power of their voting,vetoing and elimination.
4.The score Board will be final place where most important displays will be declared and the comments for each contestant rather than direct from the judges mouth.
5.Board of directors will also decide the Music from the same genre to judge each candidate>eg. classical,Bhajans,Ghazal ,folks ,remix,etc in each category.
these will eliminate the emotional hullabaloo of the public and regionalism .
If you implement these simple measures, it will take care of all the public outcry and a fair system to reward a deserved talent and not the undeserved one.

I agree with you.Way back in the days when Gajendra Singh used to direct/produce SaReGaMa on Zee TV there was no public voting and Ustaad Zakir Hussain,Girija Devi and others were judging the shows. I don’t know what made Gajendra Singh go into this business of public voting. May be it is his lust to make more money.
The second point that I want to make is that they had classical, non classical, judges choice rounds in SaReGaMa.
I am really at a loss to explain why Gajendra Singh decided to do away with these.

I have the answer for you. Its simple! why Bengalis are winning because they are better in SUR and TAAL. Bina sikhe humlog contest ladne nahi aate.

Everyone has the right to win be it Punjabi, or Nepali but you have to compete with the other contestents. Its not the question of “right” you have to be good in singing that is all.

I am a Bengali but I like Ashwariya and Anewesha, previously I supported Amanat and Aneek becuas e I fet they were better than others and in VOI I supported Abaash becuas ehe was better.

All I could gather from the comments that people from Punjab will only vote their ward even if they cannot sing and also all Nepalees will vote their ward even if they are not worth. But Bengalis are not like that. Had it been so Anwesha would have got the highest public votes. We understand music so our votes are not biased. Ashwariya is Gujarti and I am voting for her because I like her voice. I also voted for Anwesha when she sang “ami je tomar” , Mari himbro mein when Ilaji came, she was too good.

I feel sorry about Prakriti, she is very sweet the Judges should be polite with her. Please Judges do not be so harsh with her. That’s my feelings.

Judges behaviour especially Kunal and Shreya was very disappointing towards prakruti. It was not easy for her to reach top 3. People who have judged her singing may include very senior professionals in music than Kunal and Shreya who are still upcoming singers who should not forget they have also been selected from a similar stage as prakruti. So I would suggest that they should not pass such comments that would effect her singing in future, as such comments would demoralise and their performance effected.

Judges have mistaken that the people may vote as per their comments. Hence it were sarcastic comments made to
prakruti so that she would not get any votes.

It is also clear that they want Anvesha on the top and no doubt they would do same to Aishwarya as they did to Prakruti in the final (in case they both are in in final)as her golden voice is a threat to the Female judge Shreya.

Aishwarya is not a threat to Shreya but Anwesha is!That’s why she is being particularly critical to Anwesha and unbeliebably sweet to Aishwarya!Aishwarya’s voice has no resemblence to Shreya where as Anwesha sang ‘Mere Dholna ‘ and ‘Barso re megha megha’ even better than Shreya live!You bet Shreya has a competition in ANWESHA because she is an AWESOME singer.You coul’d tell she had an inferiority complex when Anwesha sang those songs better than her live!

I would have to agree that Shreya seems to be a little more critical towards Anwesha than she is to Aishwarya. You can see it on her face, everytime Anwesha performs, Shreya’s expression turns sour. I have noticed this lately, though she wasn’t always like that. Even when Aishwarya would be besura in some of her songs, in the early days, Shreya would smile and give her a pleasant look. I think she definately favours Aish to Anu just a little bit.

I also think all this hype around Aish is just so they can bring her up to Anu’s level, otherwise the final round would be very one-sided. However, I think as a singer, Anwesha is miles ahead of Aishwarya (though Aish is improving), but as a performer, Aishwarya is better. I prefer listening to songs than watching performances, so I would pick Anwesha as my chhote ustaad.

The voice of Prakriti is unique and different and so she has a future in the music industry. But today she’s untrained and certainly not in the league of Aishwarya and Anwesha. So the third place is justified for her. I want to make some observations about Kunal and Shreya. It shocked and surprised me but on thinking over I felt

Whatever happens on the show is not spontaneous. It’s planned and meant to be that way. Every elimination is well known well in advance to all participants, judges, etc. everyone except the audience.
These comments I bet were given with the full knowledge and consent of Prakriti and her relatives. That’s why there was no reaction on the face of Prakriti’s relation. The close up shot of the tears on Prakriti’s face looked suspiciously like taken from an earlier episode.

Gajji is extremely clever. These comments were made just to have the effect they had, to get the Gurkhas so angry (notoriously well known for their clan feeling) so that they’ll spend their last rupee on SMS

But this time it’s mathematically impossible for Prakriti to get into the finals. Next episode there’ll be apologies from Kunal and Shreya, nice things said to Prakriti and gently she’ll be shown the way out of the contest

In the current scenario of things, eevrything seems like gajendra’s plan. maybe anvesha will be eliminated because the whole point to show those clips was to get votes in. poor prakrit had to suffer in this.
The judges did it to save anvehsa from elimination. Even shreya, ehos eezxpression towards anvesha is not as good as aishwarya, wants anu in final 2.Obviously since she is best singer.
But judes could have done it not making prakrit sad. if as people feel aishwarya will be crowned winner, then what’s the point of the whole contest? Many good singers like jayant,geetasri and sonia had to be eliminated before ‘average’ singers like prakrit and aishwarya. I feel prakrit is as good or bad as ash. judges are biased towards ash or is it gajji?

Definitely Aishwarya should go thsi time. all this is gajendra ji ka tricks. mano ejta wu. very clever gajendra ji. You want aishwarya to win and will eliminate anvesha and prakriti the good singers.

I have been reading the remarks on this forum. there seems to be many knowledgeable poeple here. however some like Mr. biaswas’s comments are not easy to read. They are written with a pretentious import.

i would just request all readers to vote for the shining talent ANVESHA DATTA GUPTA. there is no other deserving winner in this show. Contestants like Aishwarya are inflated beyond their worth, and there seems to be propoganda there in portraying her as the best. She is not even near the best. Also the format of the show leaves one with grave doubts as to why aishwarya is highlighted so much.
There were many upcoming good singers like mansi and prakriti and the little pendulum. they should have been given some attention. they will all do well in future– god bless. As for 2′nd and 3′rd anyone can come. Ideally I would have liked mansi to come to top 5. All the kids are good and should be given recognition.

The judges threw Gitashree out only to avoid Bengali votes getting split

In my list of top 3, among them 2 are Bengalis. So I’m not against Bengalis.
Of course Gitashree had some limitations. All her songs were of one type but whatever she sang, it was 100 percent perfect. I don’t know how well she’d have performed later if she’d stayed I’m basing my comments on her short stay.

But Aishwarya is definitely the very best. There’s absolutely no doubt about that at all.

I don’t agree with one of the comments above that Shreya is afraid of Anwesha. It’s been seen before that a new singer with a similar voice and style as a established singer has no chance in the industry. That’s why when Lata, Asha Bhonsle and Mohd Rafi were singing, no other similar singer could break in.

But Aishwarya with her fantastic different voice and style is a real threat to Shreya. It’s really great that in spite of this threat, Shreya still encourages Aishwarya. Truly I admire her for this.

When Anwesha sings a good song, Shreya immediately sings to show that she’s better, but never has Shreya sang the same song after Aishwarya. Shreya can never hope to sing better than Aishwarya

Though I am following this program from day One, I finally concluded that this program has to be stopped at once.
Esc. when Kunal said to Prakruti that she can win “Pop contest” but no chhote ustaad. Prakruti deserve nahi karati ye kunal ko aab kaise pata chala. Last 30 episodes main soya tha kya?
In fact, I was in impression that Kunal is good singer. But if he is not good human being, then according to me, he is not good singer. Also, if he has said this in studio, ( where earlier programs were done ) , I will still ( somehow ) forgive him, but not this time. As he has openly insulted Prakruti in front of thousands of people in Bhopal.

In fact, kunal can sing only few types of songs as his singing style is western, He can sing the way Sonu Nigam or Udit Narayan signs. They are class apart. So Kunal should remember his own limitations before blaming to Prakruti.
I was suprised that even Shreya does the same way.

I would like to say that, Prakruti is not good singer as
Anwesha or Aishwarya. But she has good voice and after say 3/4 years , she can be promising singer. Though she is kid now , she has her own respect. and Judges should not insult anyone so openingly.

That’s why, I will pledge, not to vote anyone so that
these kind of programs will not be on air in future.
( At least, judges will not insult any one like what happened with Prakruti )

I was really very, very upset to see Saturday’s program. The remarks of Kunal Ganjawala were really outrageous and heartbreaking for Prakriti. While I agree that performance-wise both Anwesha and Aishwarya are better than her, but Kunal has no right to pass such remarks. In fact, what this cute and innocent girl deserved was appreciation and encouragement so that she could perform better on her second attempt. However, not once but two times in the same eposode, she was roughly treated by the same judge and other judges also agreed to him.

Being a foreigner, perhaps I may not have the right to complain on the outrageous and uncalled for behaviour of Kunal, but “insaanyat kay naatey” I strongly condemn such a treatment on a child of minor age and demand an apology from Kunal.

As far as performance of Saturday’s program is concerned, while judges appeared to favor Aishwarya, but the fact is that Anwesha perfomed better than her. Her performance in both the songs was even better than the original.

I had earlier appealed to the people of Kolkata to give lots of vote to Anwesha and I once again request the people of Kolkata to wake up before it is too late. Your daughter deserves your support. If you cannot support your daughter then who else will you.

I again wish and pray that may Anwesha win the title of Chhote Ustaad.

Rohanpreet is a very talented singer & performer , but probably your negative outlook towards Ishmeet’s community is not letting you see his talent.

Punjabis/Sikhs have a broad outlook, but other people cant seem to digest or see them reaching at the top. This is very sad for sikhs, who are willing to make the highest sacrifices for the country. And people of India cant even stand them winning small music contests. How sad! These reality shows have exposed the negative outlook of fellow Indians towards sikhs. Despite winning Ishmeet has been denied the respect that should be given to a champion purely because of his religion.

Gajendra Singh seems to get some sadistic pleasure by getting innocent contestants insulted. Earlier innocent Ishmeet was repeatedly insulted in the worst possible manner by Abhijeet, lalit Pandit & Aadesh Shrivastav.

Now cute/little Prakriti is facing the music. Though she has not been racially targetted like Ishmeet, but Kunal Ganjawala should be more sensitive in dealing with a little girl.
Kunal Ganjawala thinks himself to be a too big person.
He even insulted Ishmeet when he came to launch his album in Chotte Ustaad. He said to Ishmeet”Tumhe milega utna hi jitna tum deserve karte ho”. Now is this the way to speak to a guest in the show.
Kunal Ganjawala is high on Ganja it seems.

On the 14th and 15th, in all 3 of the songs Aishwarya was better than Anwesha to varying degree. For the first time, I listened to the songs without looking at the screen. I deliberately kept my eyes closed. To this day, I don’t know what happened on the screen during these songs.
For the song on the 14th, Anwesha was very good but Aishwarya was fantastic. What reach and sweep of voice she’s got.
On the 15th, Anwesha’s performance was much below. As usual, Aishwarya fully deserved all the praise she got.
Supporters of Aishwarya, Come on, don’t be passive. Let’s not allow this blog to be taken over by the Bengali fanatics. Come on, post messages of support for Aishwarya, genuinely the best of the best.

Someone wrote earlier too that these episodes are taped,edited & played later. Even Vyom’s Mom requested to Gajindra not to edit her comments. So, everything is done on the show for some purpose.
Btw, Shreya & Kunal have been rude to Prakriti so many times before too. Shreya was criticizing her left & right in previous show also. Only at this stage of the competition we see more criticism of judges by viewers. Prakriti is also a good singer.She is in top 3.

I am a fan of VOM from the start. Here in the Maldives, VOM was watched by every one. I just though of writing to you my views on VOM.

1- Dissappointment: Senior Level, we missed a wonderful singer like JOSHI.

2- During 14th & 15th March show, the way the judges behaved, shameful. I never expected this from Kunal and Shreya. In the meantime, Pritam and Adesh, commented on Prakriti on her performance. Superb judgement by both of them.

I agree that Anvesha and Aishwarya are far better than Prakiriti. But, this is not the way to humilate that poor girl. She has done her best. What else can she do ?. I was watching, Kunal and Shreya commenting on this poor girls performance very rudely. Un acceptable. What ever it is, she has come to the final 3. If they are the real judges, they would have given good comments on this girl. But, the way Kunal came out, I was shocked. Why he want to compare with others ?. He called her a pop star ?. No harm, what is the differnce between a pop star and a bollywood play back singer like Kunal ?. Let’s take Usha Udoop. What a wonderul lady with golden voice ?. They are singers who can appreciated other singers. But, Kunal ?. I had a high thinking of Kunal and now it has shattered.

I am totally against his comments towards Prakirti. Shame.

Kunal and Shreya, openly supported Aishwarya and Anvesha. This is not done. As judges, they should be neutral.

sir, Its really heartbreaking when one recals the harsh and rather discriminating coments of Kunal Ganjawala about Prakriti from Darjeeling. One can imagin, what could have thru’ the mind of that small child.There was really no need of making their(judges)intention pulic.I appeal to the star plus organisers of the show that in future they should be more careful about the selection of the judges.Judges should not so irresponsible, biased and discriminating. The contestants are often given difficult songs to sing in Gajendra Singh’s CHHOTE USTAD show. May I ask how many difficult songs The Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar sang in her entire career to be acknowledged as the greatest ever playback singer?
The socalled difficult songs are all either remixes or lifted from some foreign source. Lata Mangeskar’s every rendition is unique. It is quality of her voice ,her hard work, her dedication, her knowledge of classical ragaas which has made her complete singer.The composers of her time -NAUSHAD,C.RAMCHANDRA,MADAN MOHAN ,SHANKAR-JAIKISHAN,KHEMCHAND PRAKASH, SD BURMAN ,RD BURMAN ,RAVI,SAJJAAD HUSSAIN etc. were all masters in art of film music unlike to-day’s composers who do not possess even 10% talent of erstwhile composers.It is all noise and nothing else. The true music lovers are repeatedly condemning the selection of songs in Chhote Ustad show.
It appears Gajendra Singh has also lost sense of real melody and has adopted foreign culture. The ace director has gone astray and is destroying the great Indian legacy of classical ragaas and is running after cheap adulterated music which has been disliked by discening music lovers who still like classics sung by LATA MANGESHKAR.If gajendra Singh continues with this trend some other channel will soon start real music show which will bring back the melody and Singh will become history.

There are many other cultures in the North-east. Most of them are not into Bollywood movies and songs. So they have no clue about chote ustad to be bothered about using their hard earned money to vote for a girl from West Bengal (from a teeny town in WB -Darjeeling). Atleast in Mizoram I am aware of the fact that they are primarily into gospel christian singing, songs from their own mother tongue and English rock songs. Only Manipur among those places in the above map might be interested in Hindi music. This is because they have a developing film, tele film industry that Sai media has taken interest in and used very hindi music styles of cinematography and formats.

So please stop dragging North east into it.

And please don’t say stuff like ohhhh they are into English songs …our culture is going down etc etc..and blah blah…..everyone has their own love for music you cannot control that. In the past when I have sung songs from legends like Lataji instead of encouraging me to follow the correct path in my musical journey you have stopped me and given me cheesy numbers like just chill chill. My ultimate humiliation started from the time you made me sing a cheesy number in front of esteemed Ghulam Ali Sahib. Well the things that are way out of wack are too many so many she should just say that she is not stupid and understands the politics being done to her by the show. And send in a letter to all judges and show organizers with every detail of their lies and drama.

The actions and words of these supposed gurus are going to affect people for a long time so it would serve them better karma wise to choose their words and actions wisely not just at the whim of making cheap publicity money for a TV show.

Anwesha is very good at singing Sunidhi numbers. Friday she sang Aankhiya na maar – didn’t miss a single beat and sang flawlessly and on Sat she sang Deedar de and did full justice to the song. It is such a difficult song to sing as well, definately the most difficult song of the night. She is beyond awesome! Her voice is also so very different to Sunidhi, it is sweeter and more fresh. I really liked both her Sunidhi renditions more than the original. No disrespect to Sunidhi, she is a great singer and I appreciate her vocal texture, but I prefer Anwesha’s voice alot more.

OK OK this is one of the 2 scenarios that might happen this week:
1;) Anwesha is out and Prakrithi and Aishwarya stay on!
2:) By now the VOI team would have got the vote count and know for a fact that Anwesha is out and declaring this would create controversy and hence they make it a 3 person finale! Gajman, hungry for money as he is, would highly go for this scenario, so that he can get the Bangla vote 2!!

But no matter what, Aishwarya was/is the Winner, whether she earns it or not!!

Prakrit also was a nice girl. judges could not give ash madhyam even though they wanted to. So they transfered their frusteration on poor prakriti

I am not Bengali, yet I support Anwesha completely. In my opinion, she is the best talent and deserves to win. Btw, she was fantastic on both days. Her mastery over every genre has been proven time and again, what else is there?

Go Anwesha, we are all with you! You will definately make it to the final two and go on to win the competition with all our support!

For Serious – I roughly analysed the song “Jaane Kya Chahe Man” and found that the original composition (sung by Zubin) is on E Major Scale. Anwesha has sung this song on D Major Scale which is two semitones ( or a whole step) lower. I still feel she was having difficulty with the pitch. But her rendition of the “Alaap” (if at all it can be called so) at around 1:44-1:46 mins of the song was fabulous. She has added some extra notes that I think (not sure) were added by dual voices of Zubin when layered on top of each other in the original. Also I loved the start of the “Antara” i.e “Saghan Anchal …”.. the take off was too smooth since it falls on lower end of the scale. Also she had issue starting the Mukhda again from the Antara at around 2:40- 2:43 mins of the song. I felt she was uneasy with the song and had pitch issues for sure even though it was lowered by a whole step. Not sure what she was going through.

For Dr Biswas – As for your observation that Anwesha has a classical voice, I have slightly different opinion. I think she has a strong classical hold which is her strength but she knows how to modulate the voice and sing. For example, in the “Tauba Tauba” you may notice that Aishwarya has sung in a sweet tone whereas Anwesha’s vocal tone was different and more of Sufi (heavy bass oriented), Also in Deedar De she changed her tone to suit the song. I feel it is important to do that depending on the song. No doubt people like garbage numbers like that but she has to learn or should I say she knows to manipulate her voice and fit it to the occasion, that’s the mark of a singer. The same thing was done by Asha Bhonsle (of course under the baton of one and only ‘Pancham’). In the movie called “Jawani” she modulated her voice to sound like a 16 year old girl which was played by Neelam. There are other examples as well I guess I do not have them right on the top pf my head.

Personally I would want Anwesha to sing all kinds of song but those songs should have a ‘high’ level of difficulty that many cannot render and that she should or I would say she can comfortably render. The other thing that I have observed is , lately she is probably swaying too much during singing, at this stage she should be more focused since these are the last hours of the game. I have a fear that she may be voted out but I will keep my fingers crossed since I agree with Kunal/Shreya that out the three Aishwarya and Anwesha fit the top 2 positions. This is a competition where not only voice but Technical abilities should ideally be counted as well which are in plenty in these two kids.

Anwesha doesn’t suffer from anything but a case of dire mistreatment from some fans of other contestants. She is innocent (as well as other kids) in everything that is happening backstage, discussion forums, blogs..whatever. There is no need to drag in the race card either and imply that her fans are only of Bengali origin (even if they are, who cares?) we are all Indians first! We should be proud of the Indian talent that has been brought forward by this show.

There is section in his lecture where he talks “How Important Critics” are in a person’s life. I somehow agree with him, depends on what each individual deciphers. I have a slight disagreement when people term it as “Child Abuse”, I understood that they probably have an understanding that they may get to hear anything (except for bad mouthing that did not happen for sure).

As for Prakriti I liked her honesty and I am sure she realises that she isn’t in the same league as Aishwarya and Anwesha. This realisation if profound will probably take her to new heights. She must learn classical until then she will not have a great grip over songs.

No matter what the result of this reality show is there is one thing that one needs to answer is whose voice would you like to listen to in the future albums. Whose albums would you buy ?
Aishwarya has shown tremendous improvement during the last few episodes and she has a very good voice. If she undergoes good training in the next few years especially in high notes and treble, she is here to stay. She will have to learn about breathing as well. She seemed to be out of breath in a few songs. But she has shown during the course of the show that she is a fast learner and she is a very extrovert person which makes her a very likeable character.
But what to say about Anwesha…… she is supreme talent. Every rendition is like .. wow. Is this the original singer or her in a reality show ? The mere fact that you have to think and relisten to see for mistakes makes her a winner. Be it classical, remix, fast numbers even offbeat number like “Haan maine chookar dekha hai” or Ila Arun number she has carried each and every song with elan. She does have problems with western like songs especially with pronounciation at times as pointed out by kunal ganjawalla but she will learn that very easily as she has great control over her breathing and voice.
I am sure there will be differences between fans and as most fight it out over who will go to top 2 or win the final the end of the show will make you think again ‘whose albums would you like to buy in the future?’.

Two “MADHYAMS” from two judges in BHOPAL has apparently brought about elimination of PRAKRITI and this cute and highly cultured little angel very well knows that even 90% votes of her supporters cannot save her at JAIPUR as two judges have declared her as “failed”!
Unless there is last minute change /revision in format of the show allowing all the three performers to participate in grand finale at Mumbai on 5th April the Friday’s performance could be the last appearance for Prakriti.

All the judges have become totally biased. They just want both aishwarya and anwesha to be in finals. because of that sole reason they abused the performance of prakruthi. The judges have highlightned that by commenting. I don’t think anwesha has done awesome on 15th march episode, despite, she was given all sartaj sarvotham’s. I used to admire voi a lot in the begining. Now if i look at the way the episodes are going, I lost all the impression. all the reality shows are becoming biased these days .

I have one thing to say after watching the last episode is that ANWESHA has no competiton! Just listen to her voice modulation in her 2 songs. In “Deedar de’ she sounds so strong and the lower notes are so difficult- perfectly done.Most singers go besura in lower notes. While in ‘kaanta laga’ she sounds so sweet – again perfect. She is the most versatile singer who can sing any kind of songs with perfection and ease. Anwesha you are definitely the CHHOTE USTAAD for me. True music lovers please vote for ANWESHA!

honestly speaking..i never say bad ever in this forum…but the last episode was pathetic…not because of the contestant..the judges were very much partial….if they are here to give their own verdict openly criticising Prakriti..then there is no differnce between general public and them..In case,they are not happy,,they should point out things that Prakriti needs to improvise rather than openly criticising her..Friends,I AM NOT FROM ASSAM..BUT ORISSA and presently in Singapore..so plz don’t think me putting my views to support somebody..I do agree Aishwarya and Anwesha are better to Prakriti..but the attitude of the judges need to be reviewed and rectified.

Referring to some comments above that says “Hindi is a Substandard Language”, is it ethical then to watch a show thats then aired in the same language where people sing in that language ? Can any language be called as substandard ? May be in the past some people from a particular region did well but that perhaps does not mean people from other region are not good.

i am a regular viewer of chote ustad. Although i am from nepal i always liked asworya and vyom as per singing. I do liked prakriti a lot as she is so sweet but she is not as the same level as others in singing i do accept that.
but its a competition and everybody is fighting. so prakriti has the right to fight it too. the judges can give her mark as they think she deserves. but they have no right to humiliate her on the stage specially a child. Kunal i used to like his voice and used to hear him a lot. But you know what his nature had disappointed me so much i hate his songs and threw all his cds. A celebrity needs more than talent, a good nature which he dont have. Kunal and Shreya may be good singers but they are not good human beings. How can they be so cruel on a 12 year child.
How can they make her cry before she sang her second song.They demoralised her.
This is not a reality show this is a pre planned show. To make money playing with a childs tear is bad Mr Gajji, Mr Kunal and Ms Shreya.. By the way why shreya and kunal always give same points to all contestant. Why we need an extra Judge ..

You really seem to have good knowlege in music. I liked your analysis of Jaane kya chahe mann – I think Anwesha sounded slightl;y uncomfortable with the pitch because she was not too familiar with that song but I could be wrong. I have learnt from a reliable source that She had no control on song selection lately when another contestant had some control.
But like drc I would like to know your opinion about Aishwarya’s vocal/technical abilities.
Personally I think Anwesha has a very strong voice which she can modulate according to the need and that in my opinion is the trademark of a real good singer. Aish has improved alot recently and she is good but not outstanding. And technically I think Anwesha is far better. Please let us know your opinion. Thanks

Are the contestants given songs by the director, or do they choose their own songs? This is a question that is bugging me.Also, when you say “another contestant had some control” , who is this “another contestant”?

I think there is a very narrow line of division between Aishwarya and Anwesha and it is kind of difficult to determine who outshines the other. They both have extreme solid grasp of Hindustani Classical. None of them are I guess ‘Carnatic’ trained (I may be wrong, it’s just my understanding from whatever classical stuff they sing) which is a different league. Aishwarya has a more rounded voice with a nice soft tone. Anwesha on the other hand has sharp edgy voice with considerable treble tone. Different voices at times suit different genres or songs of the same genres depending on the composition. So they may both fit the same in some song and then they may not in some other. Because of this roundedness in Aishwarya’s voice ‘murkiyaans’ are ’sometimes’ not blatant, meaning the notes slip “quickly” from one to the other like say a “more of a tangent to the circle” and not a “Chord to the cirle”, if I were to draw an analogy but this also I guess sometimes becomes song specific. On the other hand you may notice in the case of Anwesha, Murkiyaans are clean more often and give you the feel that the she is able to walk on the notes and does not slip from one to the other. Both of them I have feeling have breathing issues but I guess that will eventually go as they mature. Aishwarya’s roundedness sometimes score very heavily specially for songs that are soft and romantic in nature. On the other hand Anwesha’s voice perfectly fits high octave bhajans, jazzy numbers (like oo-Lala), Item Numbers (as they are referred to) and may be specific romantic numbers as well since she can modulate her voice. I haven’t seen Aishwarya doing a voice modulation (If you seen such please let me know)which I think is a sharp contrast between the two.If you notice the start of ‘Tauba Tauba’ song that the duo sang when Emran Hashmi was the guest, you will see that Anwesha’s voice superceded Aishwarya’s vocals in the begining, again that may just be the fact that they sang it that way but the usually Anwesha’s vocals are louder than Aishwarya’s. Also I feel Aishwarya may not have the same range as Anwesha meaning she may not be able to reach higher octaves as much as Anwesha can. For me both of them are winners, it is very difficult for me to pick one of them may be because I am not that musically literate to find more nuances that can demarcate them on a greater level.

they are both talented kids.i have requested many times if the awward could be given to both but that will never be.The way prakriti was humilated , only heartless people could do such behavior. They could give her low marks but there was no need to say all those to a kid(she is a decent human being).if i were there in bhopal INDIA ,there could be no further program.I WOULD RAISE THE ROOF*** i could never allow THAT ABUSE in front of me.I WAS AMAZED TO SEE NOT A SINGLE PERSON PROTESTED*** SHOCKING*** INDIAN MORAL IS SO LOW!
