‘Mahi ve’ in my opinion is one of the best songs sung by Anwesha. Simply superb. All the inflections, emotion – every thing, was even better the original. FANTASTIC in my opinion.

I think Anwesha was AWESOME in ‘MAHI Ve’. Richa Sharma is an awesome singer but I think Anwesha sang even better than the original. It just touched my heart! Beautifully sung and she did full justice to the original song. ‘O meri jaan’ was also excellent considering the very high pitch. Aish’s performance was good in ‘Soni de nakhre’ but I thought there was something missing in ‘In Dino’. It’s a very soulfull male song . Aish’s voice sounded very nice but there were a few mistakes.
Anwesha is simply awesome. She is so cute , innocent, her voice and smile is so sweet. She is the most versatile child singer so far in the history of this kind of tv music shows including star,zee and sony. Really does not matter whether Sreya rate her Sarwottam or not. Aiswarya is also excellent, but she is definitely after Anwesha. I can bet anything for her for chotte ustad. I am waiting for 5th April and hope Anwesha is taking the winning award. what happend in Delhi? why they started THEIR MONKEY BUSINESS?
I think the delhi show was a very substandard show in terms of song selection, guests etc. The kids started the “Baras Ja Song” very poorly and with zero vocal punch. This was not a lip-sync show for sure. I could hear the breaths taken, small pauses and sometimes the microphone being held at a considerable distance creating a fading voice. Aishwarya’s songs were Ok I think she did miss surs quite a times when singing both the numbers. On the other hand Anwesha had control over the first song (Mahi Ve) but I personally did not like her “O Meri Jaan” number. What I hated the most (not relevant to the singing of the kids) was the presence of Mika and “Teen Deviyan Celebrity”…what is GAJODHAR (GAJ Mahashay) upto .. bringing such substandard guests. The teen deviyan lady gave some “Mantra” thing…ha ha hahoo hoo.. Boss can you guys bring india out of all these crap stuff ? and MIKA .. oh I do not want to say anything about a school dropout guy like him..even if he is not he seems like one.. sorry mika you are just a “piece of stinking shit”.

anwesha:80%—mind blowing but erratic -it was 40kg anwesha vs. 80 kg richa sharma- power of vocal chords of the latter is almost double.why spoil vocal chords of young anwesha? instead she could have sung ajoy chkraborty’s”aan milo sajna—’from “gadar” very very appealingly. at times her murkiyan were amazing but she frequently changed the pitch which proved to be a distortion. probably she was advised to impress masses rather than classes. and in this art she suceeded 100%

sartaj sarvottam or sarvottam are all meaningless as it is entirely power of money money and nothing else.

Wow, what a performance from a 13 old girl. Anwesha, you have won my heart. I am loving you like my own real daughter. I must say that you have sung “Mahi Ve” far, far, far, far much better than the original.
Incidentally, this song is a duet sung by Richa Sharma and Sukhwinder Singh, who are renowned for singing high-pithced songs. However, in the original song they also could not achieve as high a pitch/frequency and variation as has been shown by Anwesha.
I can hear this song from Anwesha thousands time and every time it will give me a new taste. Well done Anwesha. For me, you are already the winner of Chhote Ustaad. I do not care, what the result is.
The second song was also fantastic and I could not find any flaw in it. I was quite frustrated to hear the negative comments from Shreya Ghoshal.
Finally, I must say that if Anwesha loses in the finals then I have no hesitation in assuming that “INDIAN LOGON KO SAHEE SUR KI OR ACHCHA GAANEY WALON KI KOI PEHCHAAN NAHEEN HAY, UNKO KHAREY KHOTEY KI KOI TAMEEZ NAHEEN HAY”. WOW !!! I am in a trans after that “Mahi ve” performance by Anwesha. She has shown that she can create the atmosphere with the song……which is a great great great quality. And as Shilpa Shetty said …. that Anwesha justified each word and sentence. She was so very right. I think that is what i would like to say to Anwesha for each and every song that she has sung till now. She justifies the song with her voice……..FABULOUS.. superlatives are not enough to describe how she sung that song.
As far as the whole program went….. I think Aishwarya did quite a good job with both her songs “Sohni de nakhre” and “In Dino” ……With Sohni de nakhre…..I think there is no need to discuss that song as it was a pretty easy song to sing from a singers perspective. ….Not much variation and not very high pitch or alaaps……. So you cant really judger her singing by that song. So OK OK
With “In Dino” …. i think i was ok with her rendition . she did modify the pitch according to her convenience. She made it sound a bit too sweet than the original song. By selecting a male song with high pitch I would have thought that she should have sung it a bit higher with a bit more variation which she failed to do. But it wasnt a bad attempt at a good song.
In Anwesha there is a supreme talent. She will definitely take away a lot of songs coming to Shreya and even others. She is a fully trained and a complete singer.
Her rendition of “Mahi ve” was the best rendition i have heard from anyone in this competition. Marks 100/100
I am surprised that she chose the second song….O meri jaan. Such a difficult song……with abstract rock band rhythm, pure diversions between vocals and music, And a purely male song (such a song will never be sung by a female). I would have loved to see Anwesha take up a superb female number and just shut Aishwarya up as far as the competition goes.
Anwesha did extremely well in o meri jaan. I dont think it sounded as bad as some people are making out over here. It actually sounded fantastic.
I have nothing against Aishwarya…….but renditions of Aishwarya come like 80% close to perfection while Anwesha biings them more than 90% closer to perfection. And that is what I love about Anwesha.

With Mahi ve and O meri jaan Anwesha has shown that she is going to give a lot of playback singers a run for their money. Including Shreya, Sunidhi, and people will just forget Alka yagnik as early as next year.
O meri jaan is very well sung by Anwesha. And i think it is her most underrated performance till date but she was fabulous in that song. I think most people who used to say that Anwesha is not good in western singing…..have just been handed by Anwesha a smack. No singer would even attempt this song and she has not only done it but done extremely well and full justice to the song.

this week Anweshas home city and next week im sure its gonna be aishwaryas place…not justified .they should ve had neutral venues….or visited the home cities of both the finalists in the penultimate week itself so as to not influence the voters adversely…. or rather influence equally.
In the Delhi episode, Anwesha sang both her individual songs well, Aishwarya sang In dino very well…but sonide nakhre wasnt her best. In the duet aishwarya sang with more confidence in my opinion.

guys.. search through all blogs of different site.. u will get the answer who is the best.. I am so pleased to see that most of the people are with Anvesha like me .. I have done my part of 20 votes on indya site, knowing that is of no use.. all of these voting are rigged.. even, net voting has a hole where a programmer can do a trick of voting multiple times (u know it).. so don’t trust most on these things.. whatever u say or may happen, doesn’t change the fact that Anvesha is proven a superior singer.. I am wondering now the competition is soon going to shift from this show to more established singers in our industry.. may be..
I started watching the show when I believed that these two girls are cut above the rest and should be in finals. Then I was wondering whom shall be crowned as per me both were soo good in their own ways and was difficult to chose between them.. things changed as show progressed.. Anvesha come out to be more versatile and a better singer.. and we all know this by our heart.. So much is effect she has made though her singing that just her presence on the stage make you feel so good.. hearing her mp3 songs is a delight.. trust me..
wooooo… I am out of superlative to describe ‘O Meri Jaan’ by Anwesha. Believe me I have listened the original song both by KK and Suhail(reprise version)repeatedly when the music of metro was released and I never thought that this song can have a female version. Truely speaking Anwesha’s singing(if u hear it first time)may appear little out of tone and that is because we are used to the male voices for this rock based song..and for this song u need shrill voice with moderate bass..(according to my understanding).. Anwesha modulated her voice in this song also as in Mahi ve..and she regulated the tone of her voice so that the rock mood of the song remains, otherwise it would sound soft and sweet.( what any other would have done)..and Anwesha did a fabulous job..u listen to it for second, third times u will know that she has sung it brilliantly.

music lovers.. I donno on what basis was said that Anwesha hasn’t sung “O meri Jaan” well.. I must have heard Metro album for 1000 times as it’s my 2nd favorite rock album of all times.. Frankly speaking Aishwarya hasn’t done justice to “In Dino” song.. there were plenty of mistakes and even it was not as pleasing to hear as the original one.. When I heard “Anwesha” live singing “O meri jaan”, the first thing came to my mind was that defintly it is a male song and she should not have sung that.. specially ending part of “O meri Jaan” lines, where u r supposed to go for very high note.. I downloaded her mp3 and listened to it again.. and my gosh.. I realized that she has sung that song really really well.. there were no mistakes like the one done by Aish in her song.. It also sounds pleasing to listen to.. only irritating part is the “ooo” one.. but otherwise it is very very good.. I would like u guys to download this song and give it a try.. if u were “metro” songs lover, you will understand what I am saying..
and of course.. I have included Anvesha’s version in my playlist of “Metro” album.. .. In all of his rock albums (which were his best work till date), Pritam has not used female voice in his prominent songs.. like gangster, metro, jannat… all of these are one of the best rock albums from indian music industry so far (as per me .. I know everyone has it’s on taste of music..), and all songs from these albums are sung by male singers (baring a song sung by Richa Sharma in jannat).. These songs, especially from Metro, are tough to sing (as they are pure rock).. In many of these kind of shows, contestants have really s’ed up these songs.. so I was surprised when I came to know that Aish and Anvesha are going to sing them.. they should sing songs of lata, asha, kishore; which would be easier for them to sing and they can show their talents better singing those..
Being said that I still get amazed with what Avesha has produced.. simply awesome…

I think she shud sing tough songs only, cos it brings the best out of her.. at her age, how well she know to modulate her voice as per the song.. to understand the beauty of rock songs, u need to listen to them many times.. here, only those rock songs you can listen repeatedly, which are very good.. so I am sure for all rock lovers, Metro album was a revelation.. Hear the variation of tone in each line of “O meri jaan” song.. that will make u understand the beauty of this song.. a normal singer can easily miss that part.. that’s what happened to the “In Dino” rendition by all contestants of various shows.. but listen to “Anvesha” version of “O Meri Jaan”.. she didn’t miss this basic requirement at all.. in fact she made it beautiful with her sweet voice.. I am still bewildered why Shreya commented on her like that.. her comments doesn’t make any sense at all, specially her giving “Sarvottam” to Anvesha.. She may be a great singer, but by giving this kind of judgement in this show, she made herself a laughing stock..

when there are singers capable of singing melodious numbers of legendary singers, why dont they just let them sing them….instead they are given such substandard songs to sing…just because the composer is seated in front (ref pritam)or the actor is contributing huge sums of money to a charity(ref salman khan)
they could very easily have had a round of old numbers and one of new chartbusters in each episode.
I think its the producers who want to appease a certain group of “happening” people.
Why can’t Gajji have a LATA and ASHA special? They are legendary singers and at least one program shoiuld have been dedicated to them. Why are they paying homage to Himesh, Pritam and Shreya when we have geniuses like LATA, ASHA and R.D. BURMAN is BEYOND ME!! There are so many soulful songs these talented singers could sing instead this show is all about promoting their JUDGES! It’s really a SHAME.

Any musical connoisseur would suggest that to celebrate and dedicate songs to Musical exponentials like lataji, ashaji, Rd burman and others would be a true tribute and a meaningful event.promotion of judges is another SILLY DIMENSION OF THIS CIRCUS!

I don’t think in any of the contest before, a judge was threatened by the abilities of a contestant.. but in today’s cut throat competition kind of market, there is a threat for the established performers from any new comer.. You can note that virtually in all hindi movies, the key songs belong to Shreya.. there was a time of Alka.. she didn’t retire, but overtaken by then younger Shreya.. and Shreya must be realizing with these shows bringing so much talent upfront, soon she wud be finding herself being replaced by a fresher voice.. Definitely, the biggest threat to her is Anvesha, as the later has got everything to dethrone her.. I used to wonder how Anvesha wud sound in front of a big audience and she proved that she is amazing in that department too.. perhaps there were guys before too and they may not able to sing Lata’s song.. but they could have chosen music director’s work.. salil chaudhary, s.d.burman, naushad.. we have so many greats in our music industry.. episodes dedicated to these maestro’s would have been the best tribute to our melodically musical era of the past.. plus they produced amazing songs for us.. this would have made this show really great.. presently thanks to singing sensation Anvesha and superb Aish that this show has got such a good leverage.. I donno wat is the point of singing “Soni De Nakhre” types of songs in a final.. wasted Aish’s talent as well in that song..
my gosh.. look at this blog.. or anyother blog.. there are anvesha’s supporter everywhere.. atleast they are discussing wht she has done in various songs.. wht happened to Aish’s supporters.. no body could highlight what she has done great in which song!!! I admit she has a good talent, but mostly it appears that she is kind of forgetting what she is singing.. she is not very smooth in her rendition.. definitely she has a good voice and good sense of music.. her “Man Mohana”, “Chori Chori” and “albela” renditions were marvelous.. but otherwise, she was not upto the mark in most of her performances and surprisingly was getting full marks for those ones..

I think i glimpsed MR.GAJJI once among all the episodes: a middle aged man,5.7″-5.8″,round face with glasses,slight bladness,a RED SINDUR TILAK OVER FOREHEAD came down to where judges sitting down ::it was a flash.i also marked his stained teeth.

i don’t categorize this man as any talented or genius. i noticed ,when SALMAN Khan came it subdued judges and GAJJI to dust. SALMAN first challenged pritam for his”halka se patla” remark and gave full marks to ANWESHA.SALMAN also challenged SHREYA for her accusation of nasal intonation and extolled openly ANWESHA for her “surela” voice quality. The whole episode was dominated by his presence and it appeared he was “NO NONSENSE”type. The present generation has completely lost the ability to differentiate between sangeet and the noise. The present generation of composers are primarily responsible for destroying our traditional classical music(they in fact have never bothered to learn this great art)as it is far far easier to lift tunes from any foreign source without any difficulty.
Where are Naushads, Madan Mohans Shankar-Jaikishans, Burmandas, Laxmikant-Pyarelals Kalyanji-Anandjis etc ? The present generation has hardly heard the soulful compositions of these great legends.They have grown up listening to garbage and they sing and spread garbage .
First learn what is real music then only you are entitled to attack those who love real indian sangeet based on raagas.

VOI Fans , Here’s a quick synopsis of the Kolkata episode. The best part of the show was Anwesha’s rendition of the bengali claasical song which is composed by Ajoy Chakraborty. Simply OUTATANDING, MINDBLOWING!! No WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW GOOD THE RENDITION WAS!! Anu’s ‘CHHALKA RE ‘ was SUPERB TOO. But in ‘Dhadak Dhadak’ she missed a couple of notes for the first time, mainly because she was distracted trying to dance with Rani Mukherjee, but the rest of the song was pretty good too. Aish’s ‘Gore gore’ was strictly o.k. No major mistakes but not that good either. Aish’s ‘Na jeona’ was very good. ‘Chupke se’ is an awesome song and unfortunately Aish could not do justice to it. I wish Anwesha was given the song ‘Chupke se’ to sing – She would have done a Super job.

The bengali– song round lifted the episode to very great heights and every one marvelled at the real talent and calibre of the two gifted youngsters.
The classical based song sung by Anwesha was probably the best rendition of the entire competition till date.
the Anwesha’s performance inspired Aishwarya and she was at her dazzling best when she sang bengali version of “oh sajna barkha bahar aayee–”

gajji is in that (youtube) video wherein toshi was eliminated in one of a SVOI round.. that episode was full of drama.. wherein ultimately gajji showed up to console toshi.. what a drama for “chanchal” kind of singer..
HAVE you noticed that NOT EVEN on any single occasion ,he makes ANY PUBLIC APPEARENCE! THERE is a reason for it but i will be unable to disclose that in a public forum!
So Here is what I observer as far as Anwesha’s “O Meri Jaan” is concerned.
First Line – Dil Khudgarz Hai, Phisla Hai Yeh Fir Haath se…-> Here I think there is some issues with “Fir”.. that did not come out so smooth as KK has done or rather I think it should be. I do not listen to the Sohail version (that is a crap) that was finally put on the screen.
Second Line – Kal Uska Rahaa, Ab Hai Tera ( the Ab hai Tera is I think actually “Abb Hai Tera-aa” with a taan on ‘tera’. A lot of words in the first two lines have “Vibratos”, thats what i found missing in ‘a few’ from Anwesha.
Antara -
Tu Aa gaya – I think she starts a little off key ..not sure.. There is again I think a little off sur at “Madhoshi”, Needed a little more vocal depth in “Chuaa Tune”
I will probably disagree with Shreya on the range thing. As far as the range was concerned whatever scale she has chosen she I think hit the right high notes.
“My Greatest Fear” – Anwesha gets carried away if a ‘CINE-CELEBRITY’ stands next to her (may be because she has never been so close to them before).. she starts to sway and loses balance/control on the song. I personally do not want her lose focus,I want her to realise that she has to think “Long Term” and no “Momentary Bliss”, the later is not going to pay her back any reward. She also needs to make sure she starts thinking how to maintain grace (and I would want to her to start now on that) so that she gets a respect just like legendary singers Asha and Lata get when they show up. She should start working on it from now onwards, basically I would love to see her in a classy image unlike being “Hee Haa”.. “Oh Yeah”.. type artist…that way people will think twice before talking to her and she will have the benefit of a good social life as well thats necessary.
Aah and Ofcourse never ever negelect your practice sessions Anwesha, never !
Overall ‘O Meri Jaan’ was an OK rendition did not touch me much except few places. My expectations are a lot more from Anwesha.
During the last elimination episode: 1) SMS voting results 1st) Anwesha 2nd)Prakriti and 3rd)Aishwaraya. The internet results 1st) Aishwaraya 2nd)Anwesha and 3rd) Prakriti.
Judges points – both Anwesha and Aishwaraya made sartaj sarvottams.
Internet votes make up only 10% of the total votes and still Anwesha ends up in scary land. Can any body explain how this works out.
I’ll bet that in the episode in ahmedabad, there will be a ballot box. and guess who’s gonna be the most fav. prob anwesha as a consolation prize b/c gajji is not gonna let anwesha win. i have a feeeling that regardless how many votes anwesha gets, aishwarya will win b/c of stupid politics, unfortunately!! }:[ which makes me sooo madd!

Initially I thought u r abs right at this.. so I need to listen to it again.. man she is singing live on stage.. even original singers don’t reach to their own levels while singing in such situation.. considering that she has sung this one really well.. remember KK has sung it in a recording studio wherein you know where to give depth and all.. I didn’t personally find any problem for “Fir” in the Mukhra part.. I agree see missed the depth of “Chuaa” part, but it didn’t sound that bad.. This was like “Baal ki khaal nikalna” thing.. appreciate hw beautifully she has gone thru such tough variations of the song.. ask Aish to sing this song and then u wud know the difference.. well, I liked her rendition of this song immensely and definitely liked it more than sohail’s version.. One thing I noticed that in duet songs, Aishwarya has always scored better than Anwesha..Perhaps Aish is a better double player while for singles, Anwesha is the best…

I am a big fan of Anwesha , and have voted for her everyday since the show begun.But then, I do not act like a fanatic and go overboard as you and Bonnie are doing. I think Anwesha was AWESOME in ‘MAHI Ve’. Richa Sharma is an awesome singer but I think Anwesha sang even better than the original. It just touched my heart! Beautifully sung and she did full justice to the original song. ‘O meri jaan’ was also excellent considering the very high pitch. Aish’s performance was good in ‘Soni de nakhre’ but I thought there was something missing in ‘In Dino’. It’s a very soulfull male song . Aish’s voice sounded very nice but there were a few mistakes.

Anwesha is simply awesome. She is so cute , innocent, her voice and smile is so sweet. She is the most versatile child singer so far in the history of this kind of tv music shows including star,zee and sony. Really does not matter whether Sreya rate her Sarwottam or not. Aiswarya is also excellent, but she is definitely after Anwesha. I can bet anything for her for chotte ustad. I am waiting for 5th April and hope Anwesha is taking the winning award. I think the delhi show was a very substandard show in terms of song selection, guests etc. The kids started the “Baras Ja Song” very poorly and with zero vocal punch. This was not a lip-sync show for sure. I could hear the breaths taken, small pauses and sometimes the microphone being held at a considerable distance creating a fading voice. Aishwarya’s songs were Ok I think she did miss surs quite a times when singing both the numbers. On the other hand Anwesha had control over the first song (Mahi Ve) but I personally did not like her “O Meri Jaan” number. What I hated the most (not relevant to the singing of the kids) was the presence of Mika and “Teen Deviyan Celebrity”…what is GAJODHAR (GAJ Mahashay) upto .. bringing such substandard guests. The teen deviyan lady gave some “Mantra” thing…ha ha hahoo hoo.. Boss can you guys bring india out of all these crap stuff ? and MIKA .. oh I do not want to say anything about a school dropout guy like him..even if he is not he seems like one.. sorry mika you are just a “piece of stinking shit”.

Is this a music show? I doubt it. Ustad Ghulam Ali has been the only stalwart invited till now. The other guests like Salman Khan,Rani Mukherjee, Imran Hashmi or Shilpa Shetty, do they have anything to do with music.Till now we have had tributes to Himesh Reshmiya,Pritam or Shreya Ghoshal.Sadly, no Lata, Kishore or Rafi rounds. What is Gajendra Singh upto??

There are no musical persons available in whole of India who could chair the show!now the more I analyse about this person the more he is showing his tail.people get lost in the show and never analyse these factors and now if these questions would have been asked to him ;he wuold have given this answer”The astrologer and saibaba said so”He already invited two astrologers in the show>one for telling the kids “which stars and cometS rising on indian horizon” where they showed their “janmakundalini”, the next lady appeared on DELHI stage with “maduli”( tabiz) and mantra to chant everyday!

These Judges i think would not like to let go the power to the public and would like their own publicity and fame!They are giving their songs to sing and their mastery to these songs are often more broad casted than the kids> i am amazed to see how many times kids will have to touch their feet and acknowledge their”HIS MASTER’S VOICE” AS IF the whole musical competition is revolving around them.
i am sure the judges are paid but they are also doing their own publicity.How Mr.KUNAL Gunjawala is described as gloden voice,shreya as shahazadi and pritam as #1 Music director etc.sometimes i see one is scratching other’s back on many occasions>eg. shreya’s accolade was extolled by kunal.

anwesha:80%—mind blowing but erratic -it was 40kg anwesha vs. 80 kg richa sharma- power of vocal chords of the latter is almost double.why spoil vocal chords of young anwesha? instead she could have sung ajoy chkraborty’s”aan milo sajna—’from “gadar” very very appealingly. at times her murkiyan were amazing but she frequently changed the pitch which proved to be a distortion. probably she was advised to impress masses rather than classes. and in this art she suceeded 100%

aishwarya:90%-perfect. it touched the soul -restrained-in perfect sur and quite melodius -her class in this show was quite evident, excellent concentration -stage presence confidence and grace.
anvesha:70%.mainly poor song selection. it is an insult to her talent to give her such pedestrian songs . she is a melody queen. give her soft numbers like those of lata mangeshkar and she will prove her real talent.
sartaj sarvottam or sarvottam are all meaningless as it is entirely power of money money and nothing else.
on the contrary shreya’s sarvottam will have opposite effect as indirectly it has provoked anwesha’s fans to cast more votes in her favour .GOD BLESS SHREYA.
in short the delhi episode was highly disappointing- a collosal waste of manpower money and valuable time of real music lovers.
let us have mix of some soulful old melodies and new peppy songs . let the two finalists select their own songs for better effect.

episode of 4-4-08 where? -probably in mumbai. let us expect some great singing from both the finalists.
both the finalists should concentrate on singing as the voting will continue till the final hour.
it makes no difference whether anwesha bags the crown or aishwarya is declared chhote ustad .this time rewards are almost same for both the finalists and both are heading for a great career in playback singing.just try your best.

Wow, what a performance from a 13 old girl. Anwesha, you have won my heart. I am loving you like my own real daughter. I must say that you have sung “Mahi Ve” far, far, far, far much better than the original.
Incidentally, this song is a duet sung by Richa Sharma and Sukhwinder Singh, who are renowned for singing high-pithced songs. However, in the original song they also could not achieve as high a pitch/frequency and variation as has been shown by Anwesha.
I can hear this song from Anwesha thousands time and every time it will give me a new taste. Well done Anwesha. For me, you are already the winner of Chhote Ustaad. I do not care, what the result is.
The second song was also fantastic and I could not find any flaw in it. I was quite frustrated to hear the negative comments from Shreya Ghoshal.
Finally, I must say that if Anwesha loses in the finals then I have no hesitation in assuming that “INDIAN LOGON KO SAHEE SUR KI OR ACHCHA GAANEY WALON KI KOI PEHCHAAN NAHEEN HAY, UNKO KHAREY KHOTEY KI KOI TAMEEZ NAHEEN HAY”. I am sure that they will prove that they have the right taste of good music.

WOW !!! I am in a trans after that “Mahi ve” performance by Anwesha. She has shown that she can create the atmosphere with the song……which is a great great great quality. And as Shilpa Shetty said …. that Anwesha justified each word and sentence. She was so very right. I think that is what i would like to say to Anwesha for each and every song that she has sung till now. She justifies the song with her voice……..FABULOUS.. superlatives are not enough to describe how she sung that song.
As far as the whole program went….. I think Aishwarya did quite a good job with both her songs “Sohni de nakhre” and “In Dino” ……With Sohni de nakhre…..I think there is no need to discuss that song as it was a pretty easy song to sing from a singers perspective. ….Not much variation and not very high pitch or alaaps……. So you cant really judger her singing by that song. So OK OK
With “In Dino” …. i think i was ok with her rendition . she did modify the pitch according to her convenience. She made it sound a bit too sweet than the original song. By selecting a male song with high pitch I would have thought that she should have sung it a bit higher with a bit more variation which she failed to do. But it wasnt a bad attempt at a good song.
In Anwesha there is a supreme talent. She will definitely take away a lot of songs coming to Shreya and even others. She is a fully trained and a complete singer.
Her rendition of “Mahi ve” was the best rendition i have heard from anyone in this competition. Marks 100/100
I am surprised that she chose the second song….O meri jaan. Such a difficult song……with abstract rock band rhythm, pure diversions between vocals and music, And a purely male song (such a song will never be sung by a female). I would have loved to see Anwesha take up a superb female number and just shut Aishwarya up as far as the competition goes.
Anwesha did extremely well in o meri jaan. I dont think it sounded as bad as some people are making out over here. It actually sounded fantastic.
I have nothing against Aishwarya…….but renditions of Aishwarya come like 80% close to perfection while Anwesha biings them more than 90% closer to perfection. And that is what I love about Anwesha.
Anwesha ……you have touched my heart so much by your singing that many songs that i wouldnt otherwise listen to …… sound beautiful just because you sing them.

To all those people who did not like the “O meri jaan” rendition by Anwesha …….My advise is to listen to it the second time.
Yes the first time it sounds a bit off……but believe me you will forget the original after you listen it the second time.
Not one present time playback singer will have the guts to sing that song. And this girl has done more justice than anyone could have done including present generation playback singers (may be I would like to see Sunidhi Chauhan singing this song and then i would compare). Shreya does not have the range to sing this song.

With Mahi ve and O meri jaan Anwesha has shown that she is going to give a lot of playback singers a run for their money. Including Shreya, Sunidhi, and people will just forget Alka yagnik as early as next year.
O meri jaan is very well sung by Anwesha. And i think it is her most underrated performance till date but she was fabulous in that song. I think most people who used to say that Anwesha is not good in western singing…..have just been handed by Anwesha a smack. No singer would even attempt this song and she has not only done it but done extremely well and full justice to the song.

Ashiwariya’s first song was not at all good she should have selected another song since it is final round. In dino was a good song but something is missing in Ash yesterday , she looked pretty nervous.

just look at Gajjus strategy……
this week Anweshas home city and next week im sure its gonna be aishwaryas place…not justified .they should ve had neutral venues….or visited the home cities of both the finalists in the penultimate week itself so as to not influence the voters adversely…. or rather influence equally.
In the Delhi episode, Anwesha sang both her individual songs well, Aishwarya sang In dino very well…but sonide nakhre wasnt her best. In the duet aishwarya sang with more confidence in my opinion.

guys.. search through all blogs of different site.. u will get the answer who is the best.. I am so pleased to see that most of the people are with Anvesha like me
.. I have done my part of 20 votes on indya site, knowing that is of no use.. all of these voting are rigged.. even, net voting has a hole where a programmer can do a trick of voting multiple times (u know it).. so don’t trust most on these things.. whatever u say or may happen, doesn’t change the fact that Anvesha is proven a superior singer.. I am wondering now the competition is soon going to shift from this show to more established singers in our industry.. may be..
I started watching the show when I believed that these two girls are cut above the rest and should be in finals. Then I was wondering whom shall be crowned as per me both were soo good in their own ways and was difficult to chose between them.. things changed as show progressed.. Anvesha come out to be more versatile and a better singer.. and we all know this by our heart.. So much is effect she has made though her singing that just her presence on the stage make you feel so good.. hearing her mp3 songs is a delight.. trust me..

wooooo… I am out of superlative to describe ‘O Meri Jaan’ by Anwesha. Believe me I have listened the original song both by KK and Suhail(reprise version)repeatedly when the music of metro was released and I never thought that this song can have a female version. Truely speaking Anwesha’s singing(if u hear it first time)may appear little out of tone and that is because we are used to the male voices for this rock based song..and for this song u need shrill voice with moderate bass..(according to my understanding).. Anwesha modulated her voice in this song also as in Mahi ve..and she regulated the tone of her voice so that the rock mood of the song remains, otherwise it would sound soft and sweet.( what any other would have done)..and Anwesha did a fabulous job..u listen to it for second, third times u will know that she has sung it brilliantly.

music lovers.. I donno on what basis was said that Anwesha hasn’t sung “O meri Jaan” well.. I must have heard Metro album for 1000 times as it’s my 2nd favorite rock album of all times.. Frankly speaking Aishwarya hasn’t done justice to “In Dino” song.. there were plenty of mistakes and even it was not as pleasing to hear as the original one.. When I heard “Anwesha” live singing “O meri jaan”, the first thing came to my mind was that defintly it is a male song and she should not have sung that.. specially ending part of “O meri Jaan” lines, where u r supposed to go for very high note.. I downloaded her mp3 and listened to it again.. and my gosh.. I realized that she has sung that song really really well.. there were no mistakes like the one done by Aish in her song.. It also sounds pleasing to listen to.. only irritating part is the “ooo” one.. but otherwise it is very very good.. I would like u guys to download this song and give it a try.. if u were “metro” songs lover, you will understand what I am saying..

and of course.. I have included Anvesha’s version in my playlist of “Metro” album..
.. In all of his rock albums (which were his best work till date), Pritam has not used female voice in his prominent songs.. like gangster, metro, jannat… all of these are one of the best rock albums from indian music industry so far (as per me 
.. I know everyone has it’s on taste of music..), and all songs from these albums are sung by male singers (baring a song sung by Richa Sharma in jannat).. These songs, especially from Metro, are tough to sing (as they are pure rock).. In many of these kind of shows, contestants have really s’ed up these songs.. so I was surprised when I came to know that Aish and Anvesha are going to sing them.. they should sing songs of lata, asha, kishore; which would be easier for them to sing and they can show their talents better singing those..
Being said that I still get amazed with what Avesha has produced.. simply awesome…

I am with you 100%.. I think she shud sing tough songs only, cos it brings the best out of her.. at her age, how well she know to modulate her voice as per the song.. to understand the beauty of rock songs, u need to listen to them many times.. here, only those rock songs you can listen repeatedly, which are very good.. so I am sure for all rock lovers, Metro album was a revelation.. Hear the variation of tone in each line of “O meri jaan” song.. that will make u understand the beauty of this song.. a normal singer can easily miss that part.. that’s what happened to the “In Dino” rendition by all contestants of various shows.. but listen to “Anvesha” version of “O Meri Jaan”.. she didn’t miss this basic requirement at all.. in fact she made it beautiful with her sweet voice.. I am still bewildered why Shreya commented on her like that.. her comments doesn’t make any sense at all, specially her giving “Sarvottam” to Anvesha.. She may be a great singer, but by giving this kind of judgement in this show, she made herself a laughing stock..

I completely agree with you.
when there are singers capable of singing melodious numbers of legendary singers, why dont they just let them sing them….instead they are given such substandard songs to sing…just because the composer is seated in front (ref pritam)or the actor is contributing huge sums of money to a charity(ref salman khan)
they could very easily have had a round of old numbers and one of new chartbusters in each episode.
I think its the producers who want to appease a certain group of “happening” people.

Why can’t Gajji have a LATA and ASHA special? They are legendary singers and at least one program shoiuld have been dedicated to them. Why are they paying homage to Himesh, Pritam and Shreya when we have geniuses like LATA, ASHA and R.D. BURMAN is BEYOND ME!! I don’t think in any of the contest before, a judge was threatened by the abilities of a contestant.. but in today’s cut throat competition kind of market, there is a threat for the established performers from any new comer.. You can note that virtually in all hindi movies, the key songs belong to Shreya.. there was a time of Alka.. she didn’t retire, but overtaken by then younger Shreya.. and Shreya must be realizing with these shows bringing so much talent upfront, soon she wud be finding herself being replaced by a fresher voice.. Definitely, the biggest threat to her is Anvesha, as the later has got everything to dethrone her.. I used to wonder how Anvesha wud sound in front of a big audience and she proved that she is amazing in that department too.. I am sure that it must be in the mind of Shreya that all music producers must be closely watching these new talents, and that she must be losing some of her future projects becos of this new singing sensation, Anvesha… I have heard Shreya in an interview before that she doesn’t refuse to sing any songs becos u never know what wud happen next.. so u c..

perhaps there were guys before too and they may not able to sing Lata’s song.. but they could have chosen music director’s work.. salil chaudhary, s.d.burman, naushad.. we have so many greats in our music industry.. episodes dedicated to these maestro’s would have been the best tribute to our melodically musical era of the past.. plus they produced amazing songs for us.. this would have made this show really great.. presently thanks to singing sensation Anvesha and superb Aish that this show has got such a good leverage.. my gosh.. look at this blog.. or anyother blog.. there are anvesha’s supporter everywhere.. atleast they are discussing wht she has done in various songs.. wht happened to Aish’s supporters.. no body could highlight what she has done great in which song!!! I admit she has a good talent, but mostly it appears that she is kind of forgetting what she is singing.. she is not very smooth in her rendition.. definitely she has a good voice and good sense of music.. her “Man Mohana”, “Chori Chori” and “albela” renditions were marvelous.. but otherwise, she was not upto the mark in most of her performances and surprisingly was getting full marks for those ones..

I think i glimpsed MR.GAJJI once among all the episodes: a middle aged man,5.7″-5.8″,round face with glasses,slight bladness,a RED SINDUR TILAK OVER FOREHEAD came down to where judges sitting down ::it was a flash.i also marked his stained teeth.
The persona of this man fits well with his rustic look and attire >reflect his rustic taste ,religious makeups >
astrologers with fortune tale and stage appearence with mantra and TABIZ are the signs of the deep superstition this man has; he is as guppy as gullable!!
i don’t categorize this man as any talented or genius. i noticed ,when SALMAN Khan came it subdued judges and GAJJI to dust. SALMAN first challenged pritam for his”halka se patla” remark and gave full marks to ANWESHA.SALMAN also challenged SHREYA for her accusation of nasal intonation and extolled openly ANWESHA for her “surela” voice quality. The whole episode was dominated by his presence and it appeared he was “NO NONSENSE”type. Gajji must have kept his mouth shut!!My take on these ,THE MAN GAJJI IS A VERY MEDIOCRE PERSON WHO USES THESE SHOWS AS “philanthropic ” TO DRAW PUBLIC RESPECT, with saibaba, a prominent religious emblem (In India religion & politics sell WELL :easy way to earn money)>BHAGWAN RAJNEESH USED TO HAVE 36 ROLLS ROYACE IN OREGAN,USA.HE WAS DEPORTED TO INDIA AFTER HIS FRAUD WAS DISCLOSED AND BANNED TOTALLY.

Drakbiswas I 100% endorse your views.It was not a Delhi episode but a Disasterous episode .The real music of our great country has been given a gobye.Everyone is applauding performances of the finalists.What performances? Do you call these plagiarized compositions, without any sur or taal, as indian music worth listening to? It is indeed nothing but garbage -a merciless murder of our great traditional music. .If this is the taste of modern India God save raag pahadi raag bairavi raag malkauns and raag darbari etc which when form the base of any musical composition the taans touch your mind and soul. And as you rightly said the two sardars only assisted the show to derail completely with a bang!
The present generation has completely lost the ability to differentiate between sangeet and the noise. The present generation of composers are primarily responsible for destroying our traditional classical music(they in fact have never bothered to learn this great art)as it is far far easier to lift tunes from any foreign source without any difficulty.
Where are Naushads, Madan Mohans Shankar-Jaikishans, Burmandas, Laxmikant-Pyarelals Kalyanji-Anandjis etc ? The present generation has hardly heard the soulful compositions of these great legends.They have grown up listening to garbage and they sing and spread garbage .
First learn what is real music then only you are entitled to attack those who love real indian sangeet based on raagas.

Aish voice is sooo sweet.. normally she is amazing in delivering right notes to the tough songs.. VOI Fans , Here’s a quick synopsis of the Kolkata episode. The best part of the show was Anwesha’s rendition of the bengali claasical song which is composed by Ajoy Chakraborty. Simply OUTATANDING, MINDBLOWING!! No WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW GOOD THE RENDITION WAS!! Anu’s ‘CHHALKA RE ‘ was SUPERB TOO. But in ‘Dhadak Dhadak’ she missed a couple of notes for the first time, mainly because she was distracted trying to dance with Rani Mukherjee, but the rest of the song was pretty good too. Aish’s ‘Gore gore’ was strictly o.k. No major mistakes but not that good either. Aish’s ‘Na jeona’ was very good. ‘Chupke se’ is an awesome song and unfortunately Aish could not do justice to it. I wish Anwesha was given the song ‘Chupke se’ to sing – She would have done a Super job.

Just watch the KOLKOTTA episode.As far as I remember never a teenager has performed as brilliantly on Indian soil as Anwesha and Aishwarya at KOLKOTTA!
The bengali– song round lifted the episode to very great heights and every one marvelled at the real talent and calibre of the two gifted youngsters.
The classical based song sung by Anwesha was probably the best rendition of the entire competition till date.
the Anwesha’s performance inspired Aishwarya and she was at her dazzling best when she sang bengali version of “oh sajna barkha bahar aayee–”
The show worth watching even if you have to shell out million bucks!
THE CLASSICAL SONG ROUND FINALLY HAD ITS MESMERISING EFFECT.

So Here is what I observer as far as Anwesha’s “O Meri Jaan” is concerned.
First Line – Dil Khudgarz Hai, Phisla Hai Yeh Fir Haath se…-> Here I think there is some issues with “Fir”.. that did not come out so smooth as KK has done or rather I think it should be. I do not listen to the Sohail version (that is a crap) that was finally put on the screen.
Second Line – Kal Uska Rahaa, Ab Hai Tera ( the Ab hai Tera is I think actually “Abb Hai Tera-aa” with a taan on ‘tera’. A lot of words in the first two lines have “Vibratos”, thats what i found missing in ‘a few’ from Anwesha.
Antara -
Tu Aa gaya – I think she starts a little off key ..not sure.. There is again I think a little off sur at “Madhoshi”, Needed a little more vocal depth in “Chuaa Tune”
I will probably disagree with Shreya on the range thing. As far as the range was concerned whatever scale she has chosen she I think hit the right high notes.
“My Greatest Fear” – Anwesha gets carried away if a ‘CINE-CELEBRITY’ stands next to her (may be because she has never been so close to them before).. she starts to sway and loses balance/control on the song. I personally do not want her lose focus,I want her to realise that she has to think “Long Term” and no “Momentary Bliss”, the later is not going to pay her back any reward. She also needs to make sure she starts thinking how to maintain grace (and I would want to her to start now on that) so that she gets a respect just like legendary singers Asha and Lata get when they show up. She should start working on it from now onwards, basically I would love to see her in a classy image unlike being “Hee Haa”.. “Oh Yeah”.. type artist…that way people will think twice before talking to her and she will have the benefit of a good social life as well thats necessary.
Aah and Ofcourse never ever negelect your practice sessions Anwesha, never !
Overall ‘O Meri Jaan’ was an OK rendition did not touch me much except few places. My expectations are a lot more from Anwesha.

During the last elimination episode: 1) SMS voting results 1st) Anwesha 2nd)Prakriti and 3rd)Aishwaraya. The internet results 1st) Aishwaraya 2nd)Anwesha and 3rd) Prakriti.
Judges points – both Anwesha and Aishwaraya made sartaj sarvottams.
Internet votes make up only 10% of the total votes and still Anwesha ends up in scary land. Can any body explain how this works out.

come on man.. Initially I thought u r abs right at this.. so I need to listen to it again.. man she is singing live on stage.. even original singers don’t reach to their own levels while singing in such situation.. considering that she has sung this one really well.. remember KK has sung it in a recording studio wherein you know where to give depth and all.. I didn’t personally find any problem for “Fir” in the Mukhra part.. I agree see missed the depth of “Chuaa” part, but it didn’t sound that bad.. This was like “Baal ki khaal nikalna” thing.. appreciate hw beautifully she has gone thru such tough variations of the song.. ask Aish to sing this song and then u wud know the difference.. well, I liked her rendition of this song immensely and definitely liked it more than sohail’s version.. I agree KK’s range is difficult to match for any singer right now.. Anwesha has just emerged into the music arena.. and I am sure she wud beat all in coming time..

I personally didn’t like her “Aish peeche ro rahi hogi” comment.. I guess she has started believing that she is the best (which we know she is though).. I also didn’t like why she has to fetch the guest to the stage all the time.. she is a good singer, but she needs to stop all this nonsense for sure.. you can easily feel that Aish is kind of subdued in Calcutta show.. perhaps it may be becos of anwesha’s home town.. let’s see what happens in Ahmedabad now..
One thing I noticed that in duet songs, Aishwarya has always scored better than Anwesha..Perhaps Aish is a better double player while for singles, Anwesha is the best…

I thought Anwesha’s Bengali classical rendition was SUPERB. It is such a diificult classical song and she rendered it like a complete PRO! AIsh also sang ‘Na Jeona’ (o Saajna) origianally sung by LATA very beautifully – probably one of her best. Anwesha’s bengali song is mostly unknown by most people while AISH song’s hindi version is a very popular classic song but not as difficult. So most people ( specially non bengalis) will identify with the latter more.
‘Chhalka Chhalka’ again is a very difficult number sung effortlessly ny Anu. ‘Chupke se’ is one of my most favorite songs – Aish tried to sing it soulfully but something went wrong she totally lost sur and mood in the second half. I agree with Ronnie , this song should have been given definitely to Anwesha. Other two songs by each of them were just o.k.

i have no problem if somebody doesnt like punjabi upbeat numbers and likes bengali classical songs. everybody has his own choice. but the bad thing is that this guy biswas starting cursing indians as bloody blood suckers and bastards when they made these kids sing punjabi songs. he said that how can you make these kids sing in a language which is not what they speak, but when aishwarya sang in bengali he praised that. he didnt see a problem with the fact that gujrati girl had to sing in bengali. dont you think thats plain hypocrisy? we are indians first before we are punjabi or bengali. this guy has been saying things against indians for a long time now. i wont spare him if he keeps on doing it!!

There’s nothing called 200%..talk like a literate person. I am a big fan of Anwesha , and have voted for her everyday since the show begun.But then, I do not act like a fanatic and go overboard as you and Bonnie are doing. Anyone who understands music knows and understands that Shreya has been an excellent mentor to Anwesha, Aishwarya, and others. She has truly polished these uncut diamonds, and given them valuable tips on professional playback singing all the time on/off the show. She always gave the best judgement among the three- right from the very beginning, and had perfectly pointed out the nasal intonation in our Sona, Anwesha’s performance that day. When Anwesha herself accepts her faults and works on to rectify them and shares a beautiful relation of “Chhoti behan” with her loving “Shreya didi” , who the hell are you to go on blabbering utter nonsense about this absurd and non-existent “Jealousy” factor(lol!! how stupid can one get?) I have watched Shreya perform when she was a child, and anyone who watches the link that you’ve given(along with your comments) will understand how limited your knowledge is.Your understanding, sense of right n wrong are exposed- stark naked. So shut your mouth and DO NOT try to confuse people here.Anwesha is going to be a lead singer soon without your support . At present, she has to learn much more. She is truly God-gifted, but she needs to polish her raw talent everyday to become a great singer.The first time she performed “Aami je tomar” amazingly, and then at the end, Vidya Balan, and Shreya came on stage and sung two lines of the same no.- the picture became CRYSTAL clear- who was the master and who was the student.Never try to compare the masters…One never compares Yuvraj to Sachin, Baichung to Pele..Don’t do it..at least not with your primitive brain and its extremely limited knowledge. Don’t pretend to be an expert on the subject when you are not.It is equivalent to roam around Gariahat with “I AM A STUPID bc mc” written on your forehead!(This applies to both of you)
