At the end of all parts I see premiere of next episode… am i right???
Because if they have decided the show then what is the use of public voting.
Correct me if I am wrong.

By the way raj I agree with you this sow sux big time

Sukvinder and Ismail are unfit for judge. These two people decided to make star Vipul. Why this show telecoast to waste public time

  5. By SSg on Nov 9, 2008 | Reply

All other contestants should simply quit and hand Vipul the title. Star VOI 2008 has become a cheap show of favoritism and manipulation esp. by Mr. S. Singh.

Ritisha is the best singer but if one is constantly being downplayed and discouraged, how would you expect her to peform at her best? Did you hear the difference in how she sang her regular songs and the song she got the National Award for.

Just to prove a point, let Vipul sing a highly classical base song e.g. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag fully.

  6. By SSG on Nov 9, 2008 | Reply

Also one more comment because if this is a North India-South Indian issue (re: Ritisha) – and I am not a big fan of being communal – let me remind Mr. Sukwinedr Sing that his first break in Hindi films, 1st song and greatest hit Chhaiya Chhaiya was music directed by a South Indian in a movie produced by another South Indian.

alll this peps are being reaally biased on mallar and vipul….. i hate tis show…. MAn i want ritisha to win…. but they wont let her…. as she is from south india….

Is it me or does it seem like Ishmail D is obsessed with Sataparna. I know he is her Guru, but he is too obvious on TV that he is dying for her and wants her. Honestly, it is a little too freaky! Ishmail is such a bastard he will never be fair… especially with Ritisha. No matter how good she sings he will find a flaw to make his Roshni look good.

Then there is Sukwinder this guy really needs to come out of the closet… How Gay can you be…
The only judge on that show that is half fair has to be Monty…

Let’s face it no matter who wins this rigged and bias show the winner won’t amount to anything. They all have a little talent, but can’t compete with the established singers in Bollywood… they have nothing unique to contribute.

It’s time the judges be fair…

  11. By DEVKISHIN VYAS on Nov 9, 2008 | Reply

by removing zakir you have removed mohammed rafi from the competition as zakir often sounded like the great legendary singer and he was often complimented by knowledgable guests and the judges for his soulful performances. none of the remaining 5 performers deserves the title of VOI as they are just voices of AMUL STAR PLUS platform.
had mallar sang chura liya hai tumne jo dilko– he would have certainly put more feelings in the song than vipul. on the basis of saturday’s performances mallar stands at NO.1 followed by saptaparna, vipul, ravi and rithisha.
i would have liked better song selection for rithisha as she is a trained singer . she could have been given the following songs.
1.na koi umang hai na koi tarang hai —kati patang
2.sharm aati hai magar aaj yeh kehna hoga—padosan
    3.mera kuchh samaan—ijaazat
RITHISHA IS THE TALENT DELIBERATELY WASTED ON THE PLATFORM OF AMUL STAR VOICE OF INDIA.
    V O T E F O R R I T H I S H A

    To repeat:
    1. Ritisha – the downgrading by the judges has affected her behaviour, morale and above all her singing.
(In the RD episode, Shaan himself said that she sang brilliantly while the judges criticized her). I am pretty sure if you hear her earlier performances and compare them with current you will know. It is really bad on the judges’ part to be playing with someone’s emotions and career. After all these are kids. RITISHA PLEASE QUIT AND DONT TAKE THIS NONSENSE ANY MORE.

    2. If Sukhvinder is biased against South Indians he should remember that his break in films, and his biggest hit was his first – Chhaiya Chhaiya – music by A.R.Rehman and produces by Mani Ratnam – both from the South.

    3. The show has been engineered heavily to favour Vipul. He is ALWAYS going to be in the ‘safe’ zone and Ravi and Ritisha will ALWAYS be in the voting.

    4. ALL OTHER PARTICIPANTS SHOULD QUIT IN DIGNITY & DISGUST AND GIVE THE TITLE TO VIPUL.

Mr Raj how can you be so cheap. You are using these 3rd class words to describe yours and my ‘FELLOW INDIANS”. We just beat the aussies in cricket yesterday and it was a day of prode for all INDIANS, your cheap comments should make all of us hang our head in shame. Your dislike of the judges is one thing, but to use vulgar language in reference to people who have contributed to our music industy is shameful. Wake up to yourself, for Gods sake please have some pride in being an INDIAN and lets treat our fellow INDIANS with at least a little respect. Disagree by all means but please do so with some charm, if you are so capable so.

I second that. I am an indian living in Sydney. Again i will say i was as proud as hell when we beat the Aussies yesterday. It shows how our beloved India is conquering the World. But to see a fellow Indian still hide behind a computer screen (gutless) and use 3rd class vulgar language against some of our Indian celebrities is beyond belif. Raj as Hindus we are told to love and respect people. As i said earlier please dont belittle yourself again. You are an Indian be proud of yourself and other Indians.

I agree to this totally. Earlier it was Ismail favouring the Saptaparna alias Roshni. She sings well but not to the extent that she can be called VOI from begining of the show. People are called back twice after getting voted out.Now the best performer Ravi (imagine Ismail calling his voice a female one) who has grown leaps and bounds and Ritisha who has consistently performed well are at mercy. They should concede the defeat because they will anyway eliminated. Other losers of this politics are Zakir and Rohit. This show is to be boooooed.Boo Boo Boo

  22. By brs on Nov 12, 2008 | Reply

Is there anyway that we can contact these participants and tell them the best way is to concede the defeat to the Judge’s favourite and walk away in dignity? The true winners of this contest personally are Ritisha and Ravi. Constantly pulled for his voice quality and personal life, still he has fought and came this far to see all this and Ritisha being a national winner should not worry missing this trophy. All of us who waste our money thinking that we are supporting the real talent should stop this. I guess even shaan will quit from next show.

I think after the death of Dear Ismeet, Vipul has never grown himself out of the shock of his demise. He seems to be burdened by the passing away of Ismeet and thinks he can replace him by bringing people from his place who jump from their seats if he looses his point in the reality show. It does look that they are going to pull their daggers out if Vipul is not made to win. Honestly, there is no real talent left in the current contenders. Ryan was the rock of the stage and attracted the people all over the world but through close politics of the contenders he was out. Has any body thought about the Mohd Rafi of the VOI Dear Zakir Hussain. He sang with his heart and was a real singer, but the close politics of the stage singers, none of them ever said that he is good. I think it is a matter of picking the best from the worst left over. Ismail Durbar should be more authoratative and the judges should not be intimidated and should be fair as afterall if they do not have brains, the Indian public do have. They are puppets in the hands of Vipul and a bunch of his Red Hot crowd from his native place.

I totally agree with most of the comments here favouring Rithisha and Ravi.. and the unfair bias of judges towards Vipul and Roshni!! This is supposed to be A REALITY SHOW to hunt for genuine talent… I pity thousands and lakhs of ppl who are wasting their time and money in voting for deserving contestants, but alas the result is soooo unfair!! TO STAR VOI TEAM – PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABT IT!!!

Yes, public voting is waste of time & money. Judges will make their favorite contestant the winner.
Zakir is a very good singer but he is out.

    Completely off the topic…

Happened to hear Nihira Joshi on U-Tube. In spite of the greater opportunity talent had to be heard and recognized why are singers like her performing at Shows!?
My guess is that the kind of music being dished out cannot cope with a singer of the caliber of Nihira Joshi. If times were like another, she could have been taking over the baton from Lata.

HI Ritisha, your so beautiful and you have a sweetness in the voice! Amazing, good luck

  32. By Sid on Nov 18, 2008 | Reply

This room seems to be biased for Ritisha!!! Well the frequency and sharpness carried by Sataparna is higher than Ritisha. Yes Ritisha is very good but here you need to carry the tallent in all types of songs to win. so is applied for all contestants. Watch Vipul and mallar. they are carrying the temper best in all catagories of song ( this is in context to the Ritisha where she sung the National Award song which was really great but is not consistent with this temperament when it comes to singing different grades of songs. Ravi is always blessed with the Delhi vote which used to keep him at top vote aquired earlier (If votting is considered, Ravi is the winner in day one).He carried the temperament well in all songs but watch his voice inclined to one kind of tone. He is sometime not comfortable with certain catagories of song. Sacrificing good talents through 100% public viting in INdia is not acceptable. Well this will land up with Star VOI talent contemporary to our elected leaders like Paswan, Lalu, Maya and Mulayam ( we Indians have proved it repetedly by electing them as our representative). Present system is like 50-50 and i think is well enough to prevent this (moreover like supreme court controling the misrule laws by Goverments). You can no way ignore Vipul or Mallar compared to Ravi and Ritisha if you see the energy level in their live performance ( all the present contestent are capable enough to give good numbers when it comes to studio where you prepare a complete song through 100s of retake and edition for album and film.)

The life from VOI has gone out with elimination of the most powerful voice-Zakir Hussain.Had Zakir continued in VOI he would have proved to be the greatest discovery of the year-2008.With proper grooming and guidance Zakir could have filled the void created by the untimely demise of the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi.
A great talent has been sacrificed by a blunder on part of the judges who down graded Zakir by giving him less marks than other performers. One extra mark- yes just one extra mark -would have helped Zakir to escape the dangerous SMS voting process. The monster of public voting through SMS has proved to be a destroyer of deserving talent in music reality shows.
In my opinion Zakir deserved 90 marks out of 100 on the basis of his some power-packed performaces which held the viewers spell-bound and created mesmering effect on all the msic lovers who loved MOHAMMED RAFI.
We miss you Zakir We hope and pray that your real talent will soon be recognised and you will be flooded with offers of playback singing in films.

What ever judges do, public will not keep quite. They will show it by voting.
Judges did a mistake or someone else made this happen to keep 3 low scored singers for voting. It will always be Ravi and Ritisha plus another judge favorate singer at bottom three and every time the judge favorate singer will be thrown out by public.
It is now so called Roshni’s turn to leave the stage and next will be Mallar followed by Vipul.
It will be finals between Ravi and Ritisha unless they do cheating internally.

I have said it before and I say it again. The present judges of VOI are biased against one of the contestants, Ritisha. This is evident in their 8.11.08 episode when two judges, including Mr Ismali gave her 17 marks, but Sukhvinder singh gave her 12. Her renderings were definitely superlative on that day.I was viewing this weeks i.e. 5.12.08 episode again to see if justice was given to Ritisha, but sadly she was eliminated. As a parting gift and grudgingly, they awarded her with a car. The extent to which these judges can stoop e, is evident in the fact that, they promote all other contestant by bringing in so many non-music emotional drama-such as exposing mothers, girl friend, and all of it. It is a shame on VOI as well as AMUL as the promoters to go along with this charade

  48. By Shalini on Dec 6, 2008 | Reply

i too agree with u Raj. In every show Ismail and sukhwinder were insulting n discouraging Ritisha and now when they have already decided ritish to be out they were praising her in the last episode. Voice of India is not selected by the public but by the judges over here. Now Ismail and Sukhwinder have to decide whether Saptaparna or Vipul will be the Star voice of India. No more watching Star Voice of India.

    Mr Vijayaraghavan,
    I completely agree with you.
With the kind of drama they’re doing just to garner votes, its commendable how Ritisha did not resort to such cheap tactics. Her comments post-elimination also have to be appreciated. Her last performance just shut their mouths and although the praises coming from the judges were as insincere as they could be ( it was like they knew she would be eliminated and so took the risk of giving her good comments and praises ) she is and will be a fantastic singer. Sukhwinders overacting was a give-away dont you think…..you could actually see Ritisha’s elimination coming. I hope they choose better judges next time round…this series is anyway not worth watching.
